Hello All!!

It's week #4 already, time sure does fly by. Before I get started, I want to thank Moose for the great deal on the Model Motoring ' 69 Z28 body. I was glad to see you made up to race with us, I just wish you could do it more often. Maybe next time Racer Ron could make the trek with you, it would be nice to race with him again too.
O.K., here we go. With only ten drivers this week, it was another short night. Our top three TQ's were John Sell w/ a 7.604, Brian Morse w/ a 8.005, and our old buddy Steve Clark, (aka Carp) w/ a 8.018
Our heat race was a round robin of 10. Winner of the heat race was track owner Dave, w/ a record setting 227 laps. WOW!! And best lap times of 7.385 in white, 7.258 in green, 7.244 in orange, 7.203 in blue, and 7.207 in yellow. I have a question about the times, but I will address that later.
Our feature race was also won by Dave, w/ 223 laps. However, there was a little snag. When some one dominates a race, there are always jokes of "tech-ing" the car afterwards. This week was no exception. After the race, Dave happily took his car apart. Much to his embarassment, the car was totally illegal as it had holes drilled in the chassis. This is where the snag is. Not to rag on Dave, but I thought the minimum lap time was set at 7.4. Maybe I was mistaken. Also, if the winning car was illegal, should the win, and track record still stand?? Maybe we could turn that question into a poll for our readers. What do you guys think?
As for the rest of the field in the feature, second place was won by Brian Morse, w/ 214 laps and a best lap of 7.712. Third place was taken by yours truly w/ 207 laps, and a best lap of 7.891. Fourth place was taken by John Lopresto Jr. w/ 204 laps, and a best lap of 7.817. John Sell was in fifth, w/ 201 laps, and a best lap of 7.367. And sixth position was filled by everyones favorite Moose, w/ 186 laps, and a best lap of 8.383.
Brandon, and the guys from Taylor, we missed you this week. Maybe we'll see you next week? We really would like to see more drivers, as everyone knows it's more fun that way. New drivers are always welcome, whether you are as seasoned racer, or just getting into it. Hope to see you there next week!!! Have a great week everyone!!! Terry

OK T-Cat, you got me on the holes in the chassis, I will recant the win and forfit the track record. Keep in mind I ran an 18 ohm old aurora christmas tree arm. Perhaps someone would like to make a decent offer on this "cheater t-jet" see you at the track! Dave :jest:

T-cat, I'd say that if a car is found to be illiegal then any record times or laps set by that particular car on that day should be DQ'ed. After all, that's only fair to everyone else that raced.

If one person was let slide and the record was left to stand then pretty soon you might see a bunch of other Kamikaze racers building cars simply to blow away records on purpose....without fear of being DQ'ed.

Dave, I hope you didn't take offense to this post, as I know you wouldn't do anything like that on purpose. It was a honest mistake. You have so many things to do during a race. It was like you said sat. night. " I haven't run this car in over a year." You probably just forgot, plus, you were working on everyone else's cars, setting up the race, and trying to run a business. I should be thanking you for all the stuff you do for everyone, myself included.

T-Cat, thanks for turning me on to this forum. I can see where like minded slot heads will enjoy the sharing of their passion here at HT.com. Will be doing a shared link with these guys in the near future. Have to take cousin Tod to Toledo today, so have a good one and see you at the track.

WHOA,hold the Bus!!!

How can his car be deamed Illegal??? When did we put in a rule about no holes in the chassis?? As the past record holder let his new record stand!!!!

We run a pretty loose set of rules and basically almost anything is legal. That is what makes it so much fun running slow cars that corner agaist ballistic cars down the straights.

I picked up some .350 silicone sponges in Mattison at the show and have a few spares.

I don't know when we will be back up, working on the Jeep and the pickup this weekend along with going to visit the X on Sunday. Next weekend is an offroad weekend at the Badlands with the Jeepininin group.

See ya sometime. M00SE

WOW Mooes, thanks for sticking up for the old boy! Would rather try the 227 again with out the "breather holes." Got to admit, she was running like a porshe on a mission. Wouldn't Babcock bodies be proud.
