Howdy guys
I tried to post this pic several weeks ago and it wouldnt load so here it is now that I figured it out. This is the car Im runnin at Thunder Valley this Sunday. (Pairadice's short track) Its the old hot rod body that the hood was cut off of and had no roof. Had to build them out of sheet plastic. Roy Dean Liebig drove 'er at our dirt track in the late 60s.
Enjoy lookin! Circle Track DAC

Another fine creation!

The roof looks great along with the side pillers, and the rad looks right on the front end, too.
Now about the nerf bar, and headers--is that solder?

Good luck at the race and Spank em' all for us here on the HT board!

Cheers Mate!

DAC, are those front tires grooved like dirt cars???? EXCELLENT looking dirt car......I love the headers. The headers look like they were built from paper clips.......

If you guys keep this up I'll end up building a couple of these dirt cars for myself....lol

Howdy TX and Boss-
Thank ya for givin me a fat head again. The resopnses are too cool! I kinda described how I make them headers in the "Specialty Modifieds" thread back in September. I'll run thru it again tho. The pipes are office staples. Sometimes I straighten them or sometimes I leave the first bend in em if that seems to fit the need. The dumps are 1/16 pin tubing, reamed out thin with a bit slightly smaller than that. I drive an x2 rear axle into the reamed end to expand it some then JB weld them into the tubing. Bend yer desired shapes and cut the head ends off to just clear the chassis. Then I will add a drop of Quik Tite super glue to the JB joint as the staples may loosen up some during bending and cutting. When I mount them on the bod I just glue em on the bottom side and spray some accelerater on it to set it fast. The front bumper is a small paper clip and the nerfs are also staples drilled thru the body and cut off inside after gluing. This body has 3 seasons on it now and is holding up well.
Too long again but thanks guys-Circle Track DAC
Oh ya the tires aint grooved but I use a pretty course emery board to tru them to the desired size and the camera really shows it.
