View Full Version : since it's slo here... question.. Cartoons?
Pablodragon 11-09-2004, 07:37 PM I know we've all seen these...didn't sell very well... maybe some are still hanging around at stores near u collecting dust!
Did anyone go for these? like them?
I did pick up 2...a green 67 Nova and the 69 Camaro, white w/blue flames.
maybe I'm on my own here, but I kinda liked the hi-rise/ladder bars in the back
I mean, if yer gonna go car-toon-y, why not go all the way!
( I have them loose in a display... probably these will be the ones that will be desireable in the future! seeing the're the ones everyone left behind!:jest:

centari5000 11-12-2004, 07:31 PM hey I have a question Is there any kind of book or site I could look up to see if my collection of '57 chevy's are worth anything. I am not really into the collecting thing a lot just like the 57. anyhoo I was just wondering if my cars might have some value to them.
thanx
plankowner 11-12-2004, 08:04 PM I have every Cartoon so far. I like them and look forward to more of them!
Muddymikey 11-18-2004, 01:18 AM Got the GTOs. Thought they were cool, don't think we'll see these again. ;)
robmcin 11-18-2004, 08:35 AM I think my wife got me a Mustang,,, but I don't know where it is... never cared for the CARtoons cars
TX Street Racer 11-18-2004, 09:02 AM I used to read Cartoons magazine as a kid growing up.....so I really enjoyed these when they came out. I only have like 3-4 of the cars though....
GO-GTO 11-19-2004, 02:43 PM I have the purple '63 Corvette. I would like to find a set of the GTOs.
I took the 'vette out of the package to go cruising on my 1:64 scale DIECAST CRUSIERS AND RACERS boardgame. The car seemed to be poorly built since it didn't roll very well due to the rear axel being loose and wobbly. The parts on it seem to be very fragile.
It might be better to keep these in the blister pack as eye candy instead of a functioning 1:64 scale car.
Did anyone else find this to be the case with their cars?
plankowner 11-19-2004, 08:58 PM Yes! There seemed to be a quality issue with Muscle Machines but to their credit, they have steadily improved over the years. Now if the stores would just start stocking the newer ones. I was at a Wally World today in Newport News Va and found a 01 casting. I guess some of the earlier cars weren't very popular.
GO-GTO 11-30-2004, 10:28 PM It seems funny or maybe coincidental to have just talked about last years Cartoons series and then to my surprise I walk into Wally World and see the complete C and D releases hanging on the pegs. They must have had an old box sitting in back somewhere and found it when bringing everything else out for the Holidays.
Got some good ones "cherry picking" the red '57 Chevy, the red '69 Chevelle and the orange '70 Cuda.
While I was at it I saw the latest release of the VOTE AMERICA cars and snagged the blue '66 GTO.
It was nice to have first pick for a change, doesn't usually happen for me.
micyou03 12-02-2004, 02:43 PM I bought a couple, but I didn't know what I was doing back then.
