Okay Im sure most of you have read threads like this and say boy this guy is an idiot and has no idea what he is getting into and guess what? You are probably right. I just purchased a couple 1/64 Scale Car and Transporters and Im lookin at a few more on an auction site and notice that alot of them specify there new mint condition in box. Now I was gonna simply open them up and put them on shelves for display. However I am becoming reluctant to do so. Many of what I have heard is well if you take it out of the box they lose value etc... and I get that point. My point is will they lose that much value? I want them to be able to be viewed and look nicely displayed. In the box obviously they will look like crap. I was planning on keeping the boxes they came in for easy packing and such. Am I crazy for doing this? Is there that much value in these toys? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you collecting for investment (ha-ha) or for your personal pleasure? I take them all out that I have room for - currently about 700 diecast in my office - but I don't worry about future value if I buy them for my collection

Well I guess I'm pretty much just collecting to display and enjoy. I don't think I'm gonna get to crazy over limited editions and such unless I get somehting at a steal. Thanks for your help.
