Hello All!
It's week three. We had a smaller group this week, so the action was short and sweet. With only 11 drivers, it didn't take long to get things done. To start, our newest driving sensation, Brandon didn't show. This allowed some us older ( and slower ) guys to move up in the standings.
Our top 3 T.Q.'s were, Dave Simons w/ a 7.876, myself w/ a 8.036, and Brian Morse w/ a 8.037. For the heat races, we ran a round robin of 11. The winner of the heat races was Brian Morse w/207 laps. Nearly making the feature this week was another young driver, Mark Hamitte, w/ a 170 lap run. Good job Mark!! You're getting closer!
The feature race started out close, but as it went on, the field separated a bit. This week, the winner of the feature was track owner Dave, w/ 212 laps, and a best lap of 7.385 :eek: WOW!. Second, was taken by John Sell w/ 208 laps, and a best time of 7.654. Third was taken by Brian Morse w/ 206 laps and a best lap of 8.073. For the second week in a row, our good buddy Steve C., aka Carp, made the feature, and took another fourth place finish w/ 199 laps, despite running 6 laps slower than last week. I think you might have found your groove buddy!! Fifth postition was taken by myself, w/ a sloppy 192 laps. And sixth place was taken by Anthony Lopresto w/ 183 laps.
Because of the low turnout, there was no Magna-traction/X-traction league this week. Still looking for someone to report those results on a weekly basis.
Moose, we will be looking for you next week, we hope you can make it. Anyone reading is also welcome. New drivers are always appreciated!! Have a great week everyone!!
P.S. For any one who is interested, there is a slot car show today (sun.) in Detroit, at the Holiday Inn, at I-275 and 6-mile road. Don't miss out on a chance to find some good bargains! Terry
