This last Friday got out a pan car and took it up to Pete Russell's Hobbies in Elkhart In. to get it setup for Pete's big race on Jan 15. Would like to thank Randy, Brian, Dave and Pete for the setup help. For info on this race call Pete @574-293-1827. Pete will be able to give you the rules and classes for this race.
We were impressed with your Cobra Nemesis sprint cars (brush less systems). We are now getting 5 Cobra Nemesis and 1 Custom Works sprint car (mine) at Huntington's races. We run the brush less systems also, but we will run any motor 13 turns or more.
Thanks again Pete.........Dave

Jon,
Pete Russell's Hobby Shop as far as I know does not have a Website.
The way we go up to Pete's is go up SR19 north to Elkhart (west on SR6 then north on SR19). When you get into Elkhart, go until you go under the railroad bridge and the next road West Franklin St. (SR933) turn right. Pete Russell's is about 1 mile and will be on the right. Phone:1-574-293-1827 Race time is 1pm. Get there early.
See you Sat. and Sun at our races in the PAL CLUB in Huntington In. .........Dave

Last Sat. Ted, Mike, Rex, Greg and I went up to Pete Russell's Hobby Shop in Elkhart In, for his big race. We all had a good time at Pete's. I had a better time in winning the 50/50 and a new L4 with all of the hopup parts, than I did on the track. My wife talked me into taking her out to lunch on Thursday, so we drove 2.5 hrs back up to Pete's hobby shop to spend my 50/50 winnings, over $200 on my Cobra Nemesis Sprint Car (brush less sys.). Now I have a Cobra Nemesis to finish, Custom Works Sprint Car (brush less sys., also) broken A arm and new L4 to get put together for reg. races on Jan 30, at the Huntington In., PAL CLUB. Setup 3:30 See you Sunday........Dave

We think he's been kidnapped by a Swedish bikini team. When they get done with him, they may just drop him anywhere. We're hopeing he'll get back in time to race in Van Wert on Friday. :(

Hi Dave. I have a question. We are running a brushless class (not in sprint cars though) and I was wanting to know if you have tried running the 13T motors with the brushless motors yet. If so let me know how well that worked for you guys. Thanks.

Barry That sounds a lot like what we're calling Busch class. Is that a [Trinity] motor/battery spec class and do you use their spec tires? We don't have anyone currently running cars like that but lately we've been discussing it. How's it been working out for you guys? I talked with a couple of guys that went to Pete Russell's Trophy race and they saw brushless sprint cars racing like the ones you guys run and said they looked awesome going around the track. I'll try to stop by soon and see how you guys are doing. The wife wants me to stay away from our raceway on sundays but I don't think she'll mind if I stop by to see you guys for a little bit. Keep up the good job you guys are doing there at the Pal Club Mr C-Team man.

Jan 30 at our races at the PAL CLUB, we had 24 cars. We had 5 sprint cars ( brushless sys ).
Ted was working the bugs out of his 4 cell brushless pan car, looked good. May be the start of a new class.
Barry C is getting the Sportsman Pan Class back up and running. This class is for the racers that want to run fast at a lower cost. Rules: pan car, stock car body, stock motor, 1600ma stick battery (you can get these batteries at C Team Cyclery; Phone: 260-356-4362). This is a good class to run. Thanks Barry
Also thanks for me.....Dave.

Actually ole Anthony did a really great job of racing with us for a little guy . I tried to shake him up by riding his back end for a couple of laps but he did pretty good by not getting too nervous.
I got the results to the paper tonight also.

Hi Barry,
Yes the " Ant " did a real good job of holding you back. It is great to think that in not to long in the future there will be 3 generations of the " C Team " running. Zack will be a great racer. Now all we need to do is get him into SPRINT CAR racing.

Hi Greg,
Yes sounds like a good race. Talked to Ted and he said, he and Mike are thinking about taking the sprints up this Sat. They were up @ the Summit last Sat. Oh by the way Martha and I just got back from Pete's. I got more parts for the CN sprint car. I hate that I may have to go back to work. 1/2 year off has been fun. I hear Martha, so I better push the button.

Hi Dave,
Did you get the touring car springs and stuff to set your Nemesis up?
I'm using the same setup that Pete said to run at his track,at the PAL. I think that the same thing will work at Summit, with softer front tires, and lower gears :-)
I'm going to try to test there one night next week!
Zig

02-16-2005, 11:56 PM
Yes Zig,
I got the parts up at Pete's yesterday. New springs, spacers, the works. Pete said when son was down to the PAL CLUB, he said he had run the same setup as the one he uses up there. You did have every one covered Sunday. I covered Ted in the first turn, when Ted went wide and I tried to cut the corner. I ended up hitting the dot and got up into the air. Thats when I took Ted's wing off. I did get around him.
Thats not the reason I (the driver) got replaced for the main. Oh well. I was out to Ted's tonight and he may not be able to go up this Sat. Ted is planning on going up for the big race.
This sounds good for me.........Dave

Hi Zig,
What tires colors have you been running, on your sprint car. Friday I will put new arms on the CW sprint car. Try to get it together, if not for this weekend, for sure the next weekend. Two nights that next weekend will be alot.
Thanks .......Dave

Dave,
I've been running blue fronts, blue right rear, green or double black left rear...
lottsa ground effects on the rears, start out with about 1/64th" of stagger in the rear, and they will be worn down to the same size after about ten minutes.
if the car understeers apply ground effects to the left front tire and dry it real good before racing...
PS Mount your Nemesis shocks in the innermost upper holes, and the widest holes on the arms!!! don't forget to check your ground clearance... HA HA HA

Hi Dave,
I was thinking the same thing... someone needs to call up there and find out.
Tracy @ Summit told me a while back that we had to have 4 cars to have a race, and 6 cars to have a trophy race!
Our C&C sprints are to expensive to tear up for nothing, but I'll do it if you guy's want to :-) Zig
