Not that I want to show my age, but back in the day they did a great job keeping the track rails shinny and if the wick was damp enough it would remove some of the "dust" (not that there was ever any time for it to settle) LOL... If you are looking on e-bay make sure you ask if the wick and front pad are there... Hope this helps... It's more of a cute novelty than anything else. Maybe if you ran it for a long time it would work better.
