Some of us are going to be racing at Fastlane until we can get something start in springfield. Every other weekend that is. And it doesn't matter if your a Missouri guy or not you could give us any idea's you might have.

Fastlane some, & we'll probably have to make it up to Columbia to try their new carpet track some too. Until we get things rolling here.

hey bob I will call you later after I go look at the out side of the building. It's not to far from the other building that we have found.

Well Jake did you look at the building? There are some things going on right now and not sure how I feel about it. We need to have a meeting soon to decide what the group will want to do. I am not at work today I have to take my Mother in for some test today so I took the day off. :cool:

I went and looked at the outside of it but that doesn't mean anything we will have to go look at the inside. My wife is going to call the name that was on the sign she knows him to set up a time to look at it.

i'm getting a workout just trying to keep up with the current thread you guys are using. :)

just wanted to let all of you Springfield guys know that some of us road course racers are still interested in how things are going. i don't want to bring old news into your new forum but just so you all will know: the story is that depending on how well the big dirt race goes this weekend the carpet may be completely removed and dirt brought in at the other place. that could mean that you guys will have the only carpet show in Springfield for oval, road course or otherwise.

that's the last i'll mention of it.

Thanks for the update Mark. Jeff talked to Sean on the phone this weekend to talk about how to work things out, but we are moving forward with our own plans until we are certain that things are worked out. You guys will be more than welcome at our place.

OK, so where do we have oval action in the state? Being a non-traveller up to this point I've only stayed close to home at Fastlane. I'm thinking about getting out a bit more often.

So in the KC area we've got Fastlane @ www.fastlanehobby.com
I'm not sure whats going down in Springfield, and judging from some of the talk I'm not the only one.
New track in Columbia? Did the Hobbytown there finally upsize from Mini's?
What is there in St. Louis?

I went to the Columbia Thunder track Sunday and it is nice. The carpet is a little on the loose side right now. It is a more family track and they stress the fun part. The traction will get better. It is a nice place to go.

Nothing in St. Louis right now.

There will be something in Springfeild soon I'll bet.

Hey Matt, just a suggestion though, leave 2/3rds of your stuff at home. You won't need everything there.

How big is the track? Do they always race on Sundays? What gear should I run?
What tire should I use.

The "new track" is Columbia Thunder RC Club. For the summer we raced outdoor concrete and for winter we have an indoor carpet. We run onroad & oval. Info & pictures on our website:

I know the hobby town use to run the Mini's but not sure if they still do. If folks bring the miniZ's to our track we'd be happy run run most classes (no drifting) that show up, three of a kind make a class.

Hey Mark I wish they would have put a dirt track in there to start with then we would be several months a head of the game. I think they should put a dirt track in there building as soon as they can. That's really what they need to do because it would most likely be best for them the sooner they do it. I hope it works out for them. :eek:

BTW, that dirt track they are talkiing about putting in, is a dirt OVAL.

Well they should do fine with that. I am not going to worry myself about what they do. They will do well or they may fall on the rear only time will tell. The only thing I am concerned with is what the Oval guys are going to do for a place to race. If the Road course guys want to join in they are always welcome as far as I am concernd. Jason is trying to set up a appointment with the owner of the most recent building that we have found.
I would like to get one thing straight , Sean has a business and a Family to support and I wish him all the best. The Oval guys have no choice in doing what were doing and I hope that everyone will understand that. I really don't want a bunch of bad feelings but I know that that is going to be hard to prevent. Like I said I am only interested in what we are going to do and I really have no control what the Race place is going to do.
So lets all work together and see if we can make something good come out of all this. :thumbsup:

Bob nobody is getting bent out of shape here. But if we keep talking about the Raceplace, sooner or later somebody will come on about it and it won't be positive. As long as there is a thread already started about Raceplace, let's just use it. If you guys were racing there, then we could talk all about that place and promote it. When you guys get going with the new place we will talk about it on here too.
