WOW.

Can't wait for part 2 tonight. My impression, mistaken or not, was that this would be a Reader's Digest Condensed version of the major story arc points that would have been more fully realized over the course of the twenty-two episodes of season five. Watching it last night, I could make out at least four or maybe five different stories that would have been episodes in their own right.

Damn, that would have rocked!! As it is, the show last night was a little choppy and rushed. Still beats hell outta everything else we've had for a while!

I'm very sorry I missed it! Didn't get home from work until around midnight.

I was never really a huge Farscape fan, watched it off and on, like the production values, had a tough time following the stories since I wasn't a regular. But I had the flu (or something like it) last week and was stuck at home - thus the late hour last night catching up on work very behind. I digress. So SciFi shows all the Farscape episodes the week I spend as a human snot rag on the couch and now I really really get it!!! Characters I actually care about, stories with real surprises and cleaver content, emotional content and witty writing ...oh, and awesome production values. All I can say is, "Yes ...no ...bite me".

"Shooting makes me feel better."

"You're fired!"

The finale last night...that is what epic is all about.

The first time in a very long time we've had sci-fi programming that was truly epic in scope, truly moving on a human level, truly glorious visually, genuinely exciting with well-conceived credible action, and honestly funny without reaching. That was worthy of the big screen. Cinematic.

Aw, man, D'Argo...

Well said! (and Anthony - understatement works for me too  )

D'Argo! Damn! Once again, compare that scene to any Trek character's demise to see what a pale shadow of true dramatic writing Trek has become.

PLEASE let there be another Farscape TV movie! PLEASE!

I wouldn't be too bummed, just about everyone on the Moya has died a couple of times but usually come back. Including, don't forget, the original John Crichton.

One minor quibble with the Sci-Fi channels treatment, too many commercials! My wife taped it hitting pause for commercials, it was only 2 hours forty something minutes long in a four-hour timeslot.

I hope we get more of these, it was great, the only minor complaint was it felt a bit rushed (the pacing, not the excellent production), and I would have traded some of the looong battle scenes with more stuff like Aryn's response to Crichton's "Better have my dinner ready" line, which was one of my favorite 'Farscape" moments ever.

Yeah, we found we could actually get some stuff done around the house during the loooong commercial breaks. Well, that's Sci Fi for ya.

I knew commercials were getting out of hand when I rented the 1 1/2 hour pilot episode of the new Justice League series. On DVD it ran an hour. Let's see, 40 minutes of programming per hour air time. Four hour miniseries. Comes out to 2 hours, forty minutes. We've reached the point where on some networks, one out of every three minutes is commercials.

Can you even consider 2 hours 40 minutes a miniseries? That's the same length as BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI. I'd say it was a movie split over two nights.

Well, when you have to compress 22 episodes worth of material into 4, somethings are going to be omitted. Remember how at the end of the series, the Scarrans were desperate to find a new source of the Bird of Paradise plant, which they needed to maintain their intelligence? You were given the impression that their time was limited, but no mention was made in the mini-series. There just wasn't enough time for everything.

Well I loved it. Especially the part with Rigel being Impregnated. LMAO still.

Really shame about Dargo though. I was really hoping him and Chianna were gonna get back together.

Fantasic but like many of you said, was way tooo short. Wish they would never have cancelled the damn series for some of that other crap they are showing now.

Actually, that is almost all networks.
I know when we were taping Buffy a couple years ago, it was just over 40 minutes program for an hour timeslot back then.

The problem with Sci-Fi is the placement of the commercials. First one wasn't until almost a half hour in. They make sure they get you hooked, then they start blasting you. The closer you get to the end, the more frequent the commercial breaks.
Still not a s bad as sports though.
Watching football last weekend, every time a team would score, they would go to commercial. Come back for the kick off, then go to commercial again!

Not only the placement of the commercials, but the fact that it's the same five commercials over and over and over and over and over and ......

I had to deal with that last night.
Watching the South Park marathon on Comedy Central. Every commercial break had a commercial for Girls Gone Wild.

I was watching an episode of Southpark and first time I noticed when a Girls gone Wild commercial came on was the disclaimer. "The following is not suitable for young viewers" then BAM!!! Immediately before any human could possibly have told the kids to leave (not that they should have been watching SP) or grab a remote you had girls lifting there shirts in utter abandon.

Anyway, I never watched but a very few Farscapes out of curiosity. I had it on during the re-broadcast on Sunday while I was getting ready for work. I gotta say from what I saw I was impressed. I would like to see this in it's entirety and also the tv series.
Also I always thought blue/grey or not that Chianna was very easy on the eyes:)
Cheers,
Max Bryant

I was watching the same South Park marathon, and you're not kidding about the obnoxious GGW commercials, the "Show me where the babies feed" line is now permantly imbedded in my brain.
