rcavenger 10-05-2004, 10:40 PM Arnie,
The car looks great! looks like the front end has lots of width adjustment, and the side shock mounting looks rigid. Can't wait to get mine:) i do have one question, though. what different wheelbase dimensions are possible on the car?
jeepnyy 10-06-2004, 12:51 AM AWESOME...................Finally the wait is over. WOW...what a beautiful car. Can't wait to get hold of one. Now, we just need some starting set-up for high-bank ovals of BMS. Thanx Arnie....Thanx CW.....Thanx Tony Stewart......
Arnie Fie 10-06-2004, 11:03 AM RCAvenger:
With standard length pod: 9 5/8" 10" 10 3/8"
With the long pod set-up: 10" and 10 3/8"
PUF19 10-06-2004, 12:39 PM Arnie, do you have a spec on where to mount the servo? I will be using a
futaba s9650, something like .870 back form the last arm mount hole?
Thanks
NICK
BA Motorsports 10-06-2004, 02:26 PM The AGGRESSOR looks good, I like the small changes to the right side & the nerf bar, compared to the prototype car, curious as to what that piece is in front of the spur gear in the underside pic, Todd hope to hear from you to clear up the issue of my deposit I sent you, I have sent you e mail with all the info you requested, but have not heard back from you, whats up!
Racin Steve 10-06-2004, 03:41 PM [QUOTE=EHR]curious as to what that piece is in front of the spur gear in the underside picQUOTE]
This piece is for your rear steer adjustment ... you either get 0 degree (none) or 1/2 degree ... just flip it to go from one to the other.

rcavenger 10-06-2004, 06:55 PM Arnie,
Thanks for the info! the wheelbase options are good! I have one on order thru Putnam. Now, i just need a good baseline setup for 4 cell stock/19 turn 0 deg on flat carpet...hint, hint
"The length of the rear pod is adjustable to allow an extra soft set-up for extremely bumpy tracks, all this without changing the wheelbase or body mount locations!"
That is a quote from the CW website....so when you say long pod are you saying that is actually does change the wheelbase contrary to what the site says?? I see you can move the upper plate forward on the car which is what I thought that was referring to until I talked to my buddy and he showed me your post. So you can move the pod plates back on the car as well as move the top forward? I see the extra set of holes in the bottom plate...is that what they are for and then there is another set of holes in the pod plates to relocate the pod plates farther rearward? Any help would be great...nice looking car.

Steve, can you post pictures of your car once you have it all ready for the race. I just want to see how it will look assembled with electronics etc..Thanx
Say Hi, to Paul Lemieux...the new member of CW staff.....you one of them too ?

Let's say you run the car in the 10" wheelbase ... you can actually move the pod (motor mount and left carrier, yes there is another set of holes in the pod plates), front suspension, front bumper, rear body posts all 3/8" farther to the rear ... and what you get is still 10" wheelbase but longer rear pod. You don't have to worry about your body fitting or not the new configuration. All you have to do is pre-drill the chassis for your servo to fit in the 3 available positions (0.375" steps).
That longer rear pod will greatly improve stability on rough track surfaces (it would've been real nice to have at last year's Snowbird Nats lol)
I'll post pics later tomorrow jeepnyy.

They did have them at The 'Birds ......thats why they did so well for a prototype 'to come home with top honors at the 'Bird. (trailing arm pods).

Billy W 10-07-2004, 01:54 AM Arnie when you coming down to Sandhills? Racing has been great.....
BIlly @ Bandit
It says that spring steel T-plates will be available.Does this mean this car takes a special t-plate or will the finish line t-plates work?

Arnie Fie 10-07-2004, 10:25 AM RCAvenger: Would like to have blank set-up sheets done to put in the kit, that way I can scan mine and post on our website.
Billy W:This weekend with any luck.
Pepe: The centered T-bar set-up uses any symetrical t-plate available. The off-set T-bar set-up uses a different type. To start we'll have a soft, double slot, and single slot spring steel T-bar for both set-ups, all will retail for $20 and should also be available next week.
rcavenger 10-07-2004, 09:10 PM sounds like a great idea, Arnie. I know you have had this qeustion a million times, but now that it is getting close....when are you going to be shipping out kits? i guess now that i have seen the pics, i am getting anxious:)

Arnie Fie 10-08-2004, 10:39 AM RCAvenger: Next week, taking orders now. Waiting on one simple part and its out the door.
The Jet 10-08-2004, 03:57 PM Arnie,
I'm sure that "simple part" IS IN MY BOX. Go ahead and ship my kits today, I have alot of gluing to do.
Thanks, Bret
Jet Do thy come with wings LOL
Racin Steve 10-09-2004, 10:53 AM Got my car Thursday ... assembled it and raced it for the first time yesterday .
First off, I have to say, the fit and finish was second to none, the car was really easy to assemble, I got a perfect fit on the first try on all parts.
I setup the car with the offset fiberglass t-plate and centered pod ... so, I also offsetted the center and side shocks (this setup is VERY trick ... I'll post detailed pictures shortly). I'll post my complete setup this weekend ...
I then headed to Granby yesterday (short, flat, ozite carpet track) for their opener.
Well, I was very impressed ... as I put down the car for its first lap ... it was dialed right out of the box! Of course, I know this track pretty good and had a good idea about the tires/springs setup (I have the track record overthere). But starting with this tricky setup I wasn't too sure about how the car would react ... well, it has very aggresive steering going in (which is really good) and it tracks tremendously good going out!!! This t-plate/shock offset setup is awesome, it makes the car track with even little to no tweak in the rear pod.
By offsetting the t-plate, it of course moves the pivot balls to the left so it naturally increases the LR weight thus letting you run very little tweak in the rear pod. An offset pod with centered t-plate will not make car react the same as it'll make the car track better going out but it'll also make the car tighter going in as well.
I tq'ed and then finished a close second to Pace Gendron after I tangled in the final laps. Competition was fierce with good racers on hand.
Thumbs up to the CW guys! They've accomplished an awesome car!

Have to agree with Steve, I got my car the other day and the finish on everything is great. It is great to put the axle carriers in and have the axle spin free. Great job cw
Raceman 10-09-2004, 10:51 PM I saw his car friday night. I do like its concept with very original options. I know I just can't order a new car now but this one really tickles me big time.
Stephane Courchesne
smokefan 10-10-2004, 10:51 AM I suppose the new car would be over kill for a Busch spec class hehehe
Sure like to get me one sometime though. It really looks good, enough adjustment to get you dialed but not overkill.

Hey EA ... are you refering to my shocks' color? I also notice they had a light purple tint on the pictures ... they're really black ... must be the camera.

The kit comes with AE VCS side shocks and a blue threaded body AE center shock. CW is putting in the kit a special shock cap for the center shock, I didn't get mine yet ... that new shock cap is a great tool, it will allow you to quickly adjust the shock length (without taking the shock apart).
