View Full Version : Custom Works AGGRESSOR... CUrcracer 02-09-2005, 10:38 PM What battery slots would you all recommend for running on paved oval tracks? toytowne 02-10-2005, 09:39 AM I need a custom works car today....where can I get one? PUF19 02-10-2005, 11:17 AM not a great time to find one, with the snow birds going on, but i am sure custom works will have them, just give them a call. CUrcracer, start with 3 from the rear, should get you started, how is the traction where you run? NICK CUrcracer 02-10-2005, 05:33 PM The track is an asphalt, slightly banked oval...tires are normally reds & greens (or all greens & pinks/blues in summer) if that gives you a better idea on traction. BrentP 02-11-2005, 10:20 AM I need a custom works car today....where can I get one?I'm not sure if they have them in stock as they are very hard to keep right now but Fastlane in KC MO is an authorized dealer for Custom Works. You should be able to get one from them. Here is a link to their store. http://www.fastlanehobby.com/store.html. __________________ Brent Pearcy Bulit Motorsports (http://www.bulitmotorsports.com/), TQCells (http://www3.sympatico.ca/tqcells/), BSR Racing Tires (http://www.bsr-racing.com/) Bill Johnson 02-11-2005, 09:07 PM E-Bay has one that I know of, search under "Custom Works", or "Oval"...............I'm Pretty sure the sellers name was "nckippy"............ ptown20 02-15-2005, 06:30 PM Congratulation to the entire Custom Works team on an outstanding performance at the Snowbirds. Arnie Fie 02-24-2005, 06:33 PM Racindude: Due to reasons beyond our control, GBX cars will be shipping as soon as graphite is back in, roughly in 10-15 days. Don't know too many people that have any considering we are backordered a ton. I know there is one GBX Enforcer at Bumps and Jumps in Harrisburg, PA. Sorry for missing you e-mail. DavePull and Brent: As for 4 cell foam on asphalt.... Offset t-bar, centered pod. Medium Wheelbase Battery all the way to the left, just in front of the tape slot. Speed control on the extreme back battery slot. Reciever mounted behind the back left corner of the servo. Left Front: 2nd narrowest position Something like #4 Bolink lube on the pins. Green wolfe, pre-loaded so the spring just barely returns to full extension 1.5 camber, away from the car. Upper Arm in 2nd lowest hole. Right Front: 3 narrowest (middle hole) "same lube" Red or Green Wolfe depending on track or class, preloaded in the same fashion. 1.5 camber, toward the car. Upper Arm in lowest hole. Servo arms swept so they aim toward the front of the car. Ride height left vs right front.....even Ride height front vs back......even Center shock 50wt #2 piston stock kit spring 2nd hole from the top Left shock 30wt Red Spring Right shock 30wt Gold Spring 2nd hole from the top T-bar, what you see fit for the track, I like spring steel, some people don't. I'd suggest any of our 3 t-bars depending on the type of track or how smooth the surface is. Tweak, again do what you see fit. I normally don't let the RF get under 4oz when taking tweak out. I usually start around these numbers, LR 13.5 RR 6.5 LF 11.0 RF 5.0 If I take tweak out till the point I go under 4oz on the RF, I'll then make a chassis change (soft RF spring, harder RR tire, etc..) and reset the tweak to roughly those numbers. Body, Protoform HD Monte on flat tracks and any thing faster than stock Would like to try the new Dodge for stock or banked tracks. Wing mounted on the back window, rigidly. You will see some guys mount their wing on the deck lid, makes a ton more rear bite. Also when you press the wing down if it flexes easily, it will do nothing. Wing slid back so that the bend in wing lines up just above where the spoiler begins. Also, with some angle to it. Not totally flat, but not as steep as the front windshield angle, in between the two. Tires, generally in stock 4 Jaco purples, really depends on where you are at. Pinks and Purples is all you need for just about any asphalt. That's about the huge meat and potatoes of it all, give it a try and let me know how it goes then we can go from there. davepull 02-24-2005, 06:33 PM Ok grasshopper when you get a new car taking your time building it is a good idea. davepull 02-24-2005, 06:39 PM Arnie Fied that isn't the set up Lamballs gave me!!!!!!! lol sweet man I try it. thanks for taking the time. Ralf 02-25-2005, 08:22 AM Of course it depends of your servo brand/size and servo mounting hardware... On my car the servo holes are 3,900" from the front chassis edge (for the 10" wheelbase: front middle) ... that's with a futaba S9650 and "Trinity style" adjustable servo mounts. Steve. Team CW Do you have a part number for the adjustable servo mounts? I have been looking everywhere and have found none? My Aggressor is on the way and I wanted to get one for it. Thanx Ralf 13 Al Spina Fan 02-25-2005, 08:40 AM Hi Arnie, Nice to see you are back safe and sound. I won't bore you with questions here (I have your cell number for that....lol) but just wanted to say a public thank you to YOU for all your help and patience at the snowbirds. Between, you, Phil, Frank, Josh, Tommy and Paul, I could not have asked for better information, courtesy and support. I expected alot and got far more....we'll talk soon. Thanks!!! Peter BrentP 02-25-2005, 09:23 AM Thanks for the set up Arnie. That one will come in handy this summer. I actually should have read Dave's question better though. I was actually looking for a good mod set up for 190' flat carpet track about the same size (maybe a little longer) as the Snowbirds. I have Steve's set up but was hoping to compare them with my two cars. The race is next weekend in Omaha NE. You can email me if you don't want to post it all here. bopearcy@basspro.com __________________ Brent Pearcy Bulit Motorsports (http://www.bulitmotorsports.com/), TQCells (http://www3.sympatico.ca/tqcells/), BSR Racing Tires (http://www.bsr-racing.com/) Arnie Fie 02-25-2005, 09:54 AM Brent and DavePull: Check that set-up again, JPHRacer found I wrote the upper arm locations wrong. Going to edit it now. Ralf: All we have as of now is the basic stock plastic mounts, I'm sure Steve will fill you in on the Part # information. Al Spina Fan: Never a problem you know that. Just beat Doug. Brent: Mod set-up for asphalt......mainly same as posted above except 3 pink and a Purple RF Right and Left Side Red Wolfes (Front Springs) Possibly more tweak LR somewhere in the neighborhood of 14oz. It all really depends what the track is like, I am posting for when it has some traction on it. Aspahlt usually is never quite right the first couple weekends you run on it unless you get about 30 guys to run it in for a few hours. BrentP 02-25-2005, 09:56 AM I'm needing a carpet mod set up. Sorry. __________________ Brent Pearcy Bulit Motorsports (http://www.bulitmotorsports.com/), TQCells (http://www3.sympatico.ca/tqcells/), BSR Racing Tires (http://www.bsr-racing.com/) racindude 02-25-2005, 12:25 PM Thanks for all the suggestions guys......I'll get on the phone now......I did realize now that I put the wrong model in my last post though.
