Thanks Steve, I ended up playing with side shock springs only. What has the rear steer been doing for you? I've been reluctant to use the RS. I'm running on flat tracks varying from Snowbird size (175') to bullring (120') The car seems good off the turns without it, and I think you have to take the center screw out of the t-bar to use the RS dont you? It seems like that would make it have too much rear bite?????????

OK no questions this time just results>>> OK many thanks to Steve and others for answering my setup questions..

Basically I finished the car saturday night...brought to the races sunday...got about 20 laps of practice basically just got the steering lined up etc>>> First qualifier was 3 laps faster than my pprevious best with my hyperdrive car>>> same motor same batteries....

Qualified 2nd in A-Main... Got the gearing and the car starightened up between rounds...In the main I led for 3 minuted by about 1/2 -3/4 of a lap then due to rusty driving I slapped the wall and my body got jammed up in the tire...So I had a 14 sec lap while the marshall unhooked it... Still managed to get second in the a-main.. I also took the aggressor to practice yesterday and got it dialed even better... with practice batteries and motors I had it close to record pace...

Can wait to see what happens next week with a fresh motor and batteries...and hopefully some better driving on my part... ;)

This car is just awesome in the turns..

Razoo,
I had mine on order fo something like 6 months ;) . When I heard about them I got on the list.
Now as for availability, 100 kits to start, gotta make sure they'll sell.
Now for the re-order, only a few companys cut graphite, and there's a waiting list, so when they get to the top, the graphite will be cut and VOLIA, kit's will be shipped .

Paitence my son.

Yeah, I figured that would happen too. I wanna get a 2nd one now, after running the first one, everything else that I had is now going bye bye to make way for 2 of these cars, one of which I already have. I'm hopefully gonna place an order for the 2nd one towards the end of this week, or whenever the $$ shows for the cars I sold off. Hopefully there won't be a 6 month wait for the 2nd run. Maybe Arnie or someone could chime in and fill us in as to when the next release is gonna be.......

Steve,

I know that you have good luck with that mixing different traction compounds, but it cracks me up when I see 1/2 of a tire with one, the other 1/2 with another...... that's getting to be a little too much for this guy. I'll find a tire that works without having to go thru all that.

6.1 gave me a call this week, and we talked for a good hour about his setup, and stuff that he may wanna try. Hopefully we'll post back up on here after he gets to run again and inform everyone of the results. See if I'm actually of any help to people on here... if not, the I guess I'll fire myself as a chassis tuner :)

Thanks Jason, no need to fire anyone just yet lol. If I can find another med steel offset tplate before sunday I will know if I can get it to go any faster.

Thanks, Craig Thompson

If worse comes to worse Craig, throe the car back together with a center 2 slot steel t bar. It will take probably another ounce of left rear to get it to run the same off the corner, but the other stuff should work. It's possible that the car could run better that way, I doubt it, but possible. This is after all the only car with an offset t bar, and from my experience, the car will work both ways, just less left rear neededdd on the offset config.

Steve what is the difference in running the pod long/short?
In my car now i have off set t-plate and pod, also the log pod, what would shorting
the pod do? I run this car on flat tracks only from 140 + run lines

With the long pod setup you expect more rear bite ... specially on rough tracks. Vice versa.

Re: Paperclip tracks, I agree with Jason that the offset pod is more suited to long sweeping turns. On paperclip tracks you want the car to shift its weight very rapidly and it won't last for very long (weight transfer). I personally prefer centered pod on paperclip tracks and offset pod strictly on sweeping turn tracks running 19T and open mod.

Steve, we all appreciate the honesty.. and that is the best way to go for sure.. I gues I never have the time to split hairs that thin on setup. Usually I'm either out to lunch, mid pack, or right on top of things... usually in about that order too these days. To answer Dave's question.. I really don't know, never measured it. I am running the pod short, and the front in the center adjustment hole.. maybe you can tell me where I am running the car....?

Jesus, if I am running a 10 inch wheelbase now... what is the wheelbase if I put the front end in the farthest back holes and left the pod short? I put the car here so if I wanted to try the long pod, I could move the front end back one spot, and the front bumper, then the pod and rear mounts, and still use the same body. Putting the front end in the shortest adjustment and leaving the pod short has gotta be REALLY short. Intresting... thanks Jet.

Just a little curious, haven't seen but only a few posts from owners of the CW car. How do owners that have had a chance to race the car like it? Has it been as fast or faster than your previous car? I know I can't be the only one waiting to hear some news good or bad about this new car. Thanks

I know I can't be the only one waiting to hear some news good or bad about this new car. ThanksI am one of the many happy owners of the new Aggressor. This car picked up right where my Hyperdrive left off, I've raced it twice, the first time I TQ,ed by a lap, the second race I qualified 3rd 3/100's of a second behind Arnie. The car is awesome. Very tunable with a few truly unique features, it responds to changes in setup very predictably. All of the parts fit perfectly, excellent machine work. The best car on the market.

Yup, the Fastman is right. Second time on the track with the car (and second time this year) and only had Phil Marabella & Tom Postalwait in front of me. Car was just as fast as they were but the driver was not so good.

P.S. Thanks to Steve Salvas for the setup tips!

I've been very happy with mine.... I went another personal best @ K/N yesterday again.. up to a 59 4:02 now. Of course... the bat upped his record to a 60 4:02, but he's the only guy at that speed, everyone else in there is at least a lap off what he's doing. I don't attribute that to a shortcoming on the CW car... he's just got something figured out that the rest of us don't.

Im happy with mine....Ive been in the a-mian in eveyry race Ive been in since I got the car....While there are some guys who are slightly faster Im running close to record pace on some tracks and still trying to get the setup right...

My only complaint is PARTS.... I need to call CW today and order some front bumpers.... I got put into the wall saturday and it shattered the graphite front bumper...NO ONE HAS PARTS EDIT in cincinnati..... so I had to make a replacement... Hopefully one more people get kits the shops will carry parts....I dont feel right running a modified hyperdrive bumper on the CW car...Its just wrong... ;)

Terry Warner and Myself - Set the Stock and 19t track records @ S/N Trackside in Wis. this past weekend @ the "Left Over Classic. 70+ drivers showed up to do battle and when the smoke cleared and the "diff stopped spinning" it was the CW Agressor on top of the Chart w/ Track records and "A" Main wins in these 2 classes. This was only the 2nd time Terry and I both ran our cars - Not a bad start to the year.

Hey Dusty - Im coming after you next.... Watch ur back... LOL .... Nice Job Buddy - Prob. see you @ the PRI show in a few weeks.

I love this car. It has topped my other car everywhere that I've raced. I ran my personal best every time I've raced it so far. The feature I like the most on this car is the side shock mounts and the offset T-bar. This is by far the best car out there right now. This car seems to respond to changes really well.

Steve, Can you tell me about the effects of left front droop? This would be on a flat track with a 148' run line. It has medium bite. We are flat out. What would too much droop do and what would not enough do?

One other question, What would be the optimal ride height?

Thanks, Craig

ericsalvas
12-03-2004, 08:18 PM
the left front droop...

mostly affect the middle out front bite....the more(0.020") you want...the car will have a tendency to stay lower out of the corner...if you want it to go out with a slight push(toward the outside wall..) take some away...don't go too far by binding the LF spring...you will want the LF to barely hold the LF weight of the car...this is the main reason why we mostly run heavier or not softer springs on the LF...'Cause we run the LF heavier on scales than the RF..so a heavier spring is needed on that LF...

as far as ride height go...

simple rule...as low as you can without rubbing the track...or to the track rule...the flatter the track...more chassis stagger...to none when running banked track(to obtain chassis stagger...play with 0.020" shims under the front spindles...so when the car lay on the table you notice that the RF part on the cahssis is higher than the LF...this way..when running on a flat track...the car has more side to side transfering weight...so you want the chassis to go flat in the corner..or little reverse...but if it is already flat or reverse while standing still...it will be worse while cornering...on banked track...the shifting weight is more up-down ..so this setup is less needed....
