OK Car was GREAT in practice last night.. After going to harder tires moving RR out moving batts forward, removing some shimming, adding camber, and moving RF in my car was running better times than I ever run >> which is awesome considering I was using a practice motor and batts.. Tonight will be another T&T session with good bats and a properly built motor..

Thanks to all for the tips here and on e-mail.. The car is really looking and doing well now.. Finally Im convinced that the slider is a better car... ;)

Good to see everything worked for you. I'm still running the solid car my self. If you don't mind will you send me your set up. I would like to compare it to mine. I will write mine down and send it too you. It works real well for me in Brushless on a short track.

Thanks

placed second on my first night! ran a 42 4.03. luckily most of the regulars werent there for stock so i got to learn the track. i think with some driving and a little tuning i can get to 45 or more. erock, what do you do to make a stock motor run there. i ran a monster stock with 767's and red and green springs. any tricks? i am going back in 3 weeks to try again. oh yea, the guy that beat me was my teammate... i set up his car and he beat me by a lap ;)

thanks for all the help

Honestly motor is only a small part. Work on the chassis and you will get up to 45-46 in no time. The big thing on banked tracks is to get the car to come up the banking on its own and not drive the car around the groove.

At the Masters I ran everything from Putnam Green +, Blue - with large cavity, to F-brushes with large cavity, and even 769's. All with Red + sping and Green - spring. All ran well on the track.

that is what i noticed. if it turned it too much out of the turn it seemed slow. what kind of changesdo you make to get it there? oh, i had to take all the steering out on my radio. is that normal? sorry for all the questions but this was the first time i have ever run on carpet. the locals said it was very impressive that we ran 42 on our first showing. also, will you be at the carpet nationals erock? if so i would like to get some first hand knowledge, i really like that track. im used to asphalt, but the part that was really cool is i ran all day and night and the body or chassis dosent even have a scratch on it.

Kenny@RAPTOR

In Stock I have ran the Protoform Taurus the past 5 years down there, no wing.

If I ran 19T I would run the Proto Taurus with a small buds wing
Mod - Taurus with a large buds wing

all depends on my job. i lost my job March 31, so if I can land a job I most likely will be there.

as far as getting the car to climb the track, try running the RF tire .040 bigger than the other 3.

if you didnt run a wing that is why the car probably felt super agressive. At the oval masters I ran about 24 dual rate and was just breathing on the wheel

i ran the rf .02 bigger like your setup, but i will try .04 next time. also i was running a mcallistor taurus with a 1/2" spoiler on the back but mike, cant remember his last name, the race director of the day, told me to lower the body another 1/4 inch. i was using the bottom cut lines. how do you run your body?

thanks

erock, how do you get a consistent measurment when measuring tires? i have a digital caliper but when you go to measure the foam squeezes. dont laugh at me, ive always ran caps.

I typically run at 4 1/4", if there is no ride height rule I will lower it another 1/8"

Open the calipers wider than the tire then slowly lower them so they barely touch the tire then i turn the tire back and forth a couple times to get a good measurement. ask anyone at the track to measure your tire and watch how they do it

I ran my slider for the first time in mod at cincy this weekend I started with Arnies mod setup and wow I have never had a mod car turn that good. I have been pleased with the way the car reacts to change it is the best car I have ever been able to feel if that makes sense.

I ran the MD Dodge body Saturday at Greeneville with just the spoiler and it worked great. Was a little loose at first but with a little tweak it worked good. I improved my record to 55 4:01 56 with and almost spun on one lap. I'd like to thank Arnie Fie for his help at the track, I appreciate it. Going to try a few different things this weekend for the warmup race. Thanks again guys. Michael Lively

Hello,

When I went to lower my front end on my Aggressor I noticed I could just not add shims like my previous cars. How do you lower it without trueing more tire? Thanks

in the plane section at your local hobbyshop there should be DU-BRO 4mm flat washers part # 2110, they will fit derectly in the front locator plates.

davepull

Ksg also sells some cool spacers for the front that work too. they are color coded start at .040-.100

Arnie Fie

Ginsu: The machined part of the locator plates should face down, smooth side should face up. It will allow you to run as much as .100" worth of spacers, which is plenty of adjustment for foam tires. There is also a slug provided in the kit that will allow you to use the locator plates and run ride height shims over .100" (cap tires).

Leadfoot02: Hey Mike your car looked great Sat night. You are running offset pod AND t-bar? Running the offset/offset makes the car a bit tighter and allows you to run without the wing easier, is that what you did?

Yeah Arnie my car is Offset pod, offset plate. I noticed a good difference without the wing through the corners. This week I'm gonna try moving the RR and RF out some like you had mentioned and loosen it up some.. How much would you space the RR? See you Saturday. Thanks again, Michael

Well micheal lively we missed you this weekend. Wish you could have been there to defend your record, I tried to defend it for you. LOL Anyway I just wanted Arnie and the Gang to know that I bought a solid car for a 150. I was running a Pro 3 and running hyperdrive for the last 5 years. Long story short, I practiced once and threw the car down and turned a lap faster, than I had all season with HD. Best car Ive ever driven. Thanks Dennis Akins

I was just wanting to know when CW will have more Aggressor kits? I had a slider and didn't like it and want to buy another solid car. I went back to my solid car after 3 weeks of racing in the "B" main and about 2-3 laps off of the pace. The solid and slider chassis kits have been on backorder for awhile ( since mid November ). I know AE has backordered all the VCS macro and micro shocks and you can't ship them w/o shocks. I have extra silva shocks and wanted to get another solid car for backup. I don't know how much the kits minus the shocks would sell for???

By the way , this past weekend solid Aggressors were 1st and 2nd a new track record!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys just got back from running at Greeneville Tn. cool track. had a great time and learned alot thanks Arnie.

I have a question for you guys I run RC4less tires and I haven't ran but a few times on carpet with them. I ran down here at Minnregg and did awesome and thought that I had the tires I needed. but when i got done with the racing at greeneville I now know I need to make a change in compounds. so what are you guys using on your cars for flat CRC carpet?

Mr.fastman
01-23-2006, 08:11 PM
Hey Dave - I'm not sure, but I know some guys that have run them on carpet and really like them, I'll see if I can find out what there running. I have some I've never run, I got them right before I got a deal with BSR, if your interested in them let me know.
