View Full Version : Custom Works AGGRESSOR... Three 11-16-2005, 03:25 PM :) :) :) :) :) :) jbm38 11-17-2005, 05:20 AM davz, I have seen that with a different chassis manufacturers graphite before. If you're doing a lot of weekly racing and has had some accidents it is very possible for the chassis to get tired. A friend had a situation with a chassis, tried different springs and tires it got close but never the same. He replaced the graphite and fixed the issue. John erock1331 11-17-2005, 08:21 AM I heard at BMS in mod if you dont swap out your chassis once every 3 weeks or so you are off the pace. Weapon 1 11-17-2005, 03:08 PM What is the difference between the Slider Chassis and the Solid chassis, and I Mean adjustments. Let's see orange anodized parts, a Truespeed 19T motor, Truespeed batteries (1.21 per cell @35 amp discharge), with a Monte Carlo body included. burbs 11-20-2005, 07:58 PM Hey Captain, I did that, it is still leaking..........what oil is in there, as I am going to refil and then green slime it.....and see what happens....by the way, I will give you a call, do you build touring cars? I had this problem on my cw cap.. if you look closely the cap smooshes the oring on top of the shock.. it pushes it out and it cant seal.. I added another o ring, and didnt tightent he cap as tight.. this kept the o ring from being dostorted.. davepull 11-20-2005, 08:05 PM Congrats Smoke!!!!!!!!! Doug P Mobius 11-20-2005, 11:32 PM Congrats Tony. Very solid season. You ran with class all year. The competion is the best it has ever been in cup racing and you outran them all. Best compliment I can give, you are as good as Dale Earnhardt was. burbs 11-21-2005, 12:29 AM Eric Hutkay Tq's and wins stock at the Oval Masters... Arnie Fie 2nd in 4 cell pro mod.. jbm38 11-21-2005, 01:26 AM Nice runs by everyone pepe 11-21-2005, 08:24 AM you are as good as Dale Earnhardt was.[/QUOTE] I'll give Tony credit he's a great driver, but I can't go that far,and I wasn't an Earnhardt fan either, but anyways, great job and it really does take a great team to win a championship. icenutz 11-21-2005, 11:17 AM Hello, I finished assembling my slider at 2am the night before my first race. So myself and another person who was in the same situation had no time and just ran with the assembly set up. We both experienced the car wanting to extremely turn left with applying throttle. Any advice on our start to tune this thing in??? Please keep in mind we are both long time RC racers but this is our first attempt at oval racing. We run on a flat carpet, very long and narrow oval. Thanks burbs 11-21-2005, 11:31 AM could be tweak, tires, springs, anything..post you exact setup.. will help everyone help you better.. also what type of track. flat ,banked , carpet, asphalt,???? erock1331 11-21-2005, 12:30 PM We both experienced the car wanting to extremely turn left with applying throttle. Any advice on our start to tune this thing in??? Sounds like an improperly built Diff assembly. Is your diff too tight? Check it by holding your RR tire and try moving the spur gear. I set it so I can move the spur ever so slightly. BA Motorsports 11-21-2005, 01:10 PM Congrats Eric, on the great weekend at the Ovalmasters, and to the big dog, Tony Stewart for his NEXTEL CUP CHAMPIONSHIP! erock1331 11-21-2005, 01:19 PM thx the car ran really good. I can't wait to try out the slider. Got my kit this weekend. The biggest thing I noticed is the graphite is a little thicker and seems more rigid. My solid car is .095. The Slider is .105 BA Motorsports 11-21-2005, 01:31 PM Eric, I'm supposed to get my new CW slider today, can't wait to get it built and on the track. BAR 26 11-21-2005, 04:27 PM How comes there's nothing about the slider on the web page for at www.customworksrc.com ???? Mr.fastman 11-21-2005, 10:10 PM How comes there's nothing about the slider on the web page for at www.customworksrc.com (http://www.customworksrc.com/) ???? It been very busy at CW and just hasn't been updated yet. Doug P Mr.fastman 11-21-2005, 10:13 PM Hello, I finished assembling my slider at 2am the night before my first race. Thanks Ice - send me an email, I think I can get you pointed in the right direction. Doug P Lighteningmotorsports@msn.com Arnie Fie 11-22-2005, 09:17 AM Hey everyone: Sandhills race went great by all accounts! Great turn-out for the race, smooth show (thanks to the Sandhills/Scarecrow combo) and tight racing. As it is posted Eric Hutkay TQ'd and won stock by running the lowest line ever seen in oval racing, until my main. Along with "Mr Fastman" and Jake Flurer there guys secured the Manufacturer's Title in the stock class at this race. They all ran the original solid chassis as well, all of them had the new slider chassis's in their pit, there just was not enough time for them to try it out. In mod, Phil Marabella and I ran the new slider chassis. Phil qualified #4, myself #7. After plugging away learning the new chassis and a banked track after a couple years away from one we made alot of head-way. Honeycutt won, I was 2nd, Phil was third, which is awesome comparing how well Honeycutt runs at his hometrack. What the slider offered us that the solid chassis did not was the ability to lead the LF tire versus the RF, gave stability and allowed us to free the car up more in other areas. Also since this track is extremely chassis sensitive, being able to slide the battery weight forward/backward helped manage rear-bite and steering very well. Sandhills is having their Memorial Race around Jan 6th and host the ROAR carpet nats in late March, both will be worth going to and we will have detailed set-up sheets posted somewhere well before then. Ice: All these guys on here are a big help, they'll set you right! Like someone said it could be a host of things as simple as just giving the right side shock collar another turn more. Pan cars in general are very sensitive cars if you come from racing something with suspension arms. Bar26: It is pretty busy around here, which is good but nerve-racking. I'll do what I can for pictures very soon. Our web-site is a pity, all in time it will get right. erock1331 11-22-2005, 09:27 AM As it is posted Eric Hutkay TQ'd and won stock by running the lowest line ever seen in oval racing, until my main. Come on now Arnie, you are giving away my secret. All I did was turned Sandhills (250') into Classic (190'). Besides a smaller track = more laps turned, haha I asked Russell if I could run down the infield in the straights but he said no. oh well i tried Great showing by the entire CW crew !! Ginsu 11-22-2005, 10:10 AM I still am having trouble with my center shock leaking. Is it possible that there was a flaw in the manufacturing process? Everything else checks out fine..........do I need to call CW? Thanks Jeff pepe 11-22-2005, 05:49 PM Eric, While I was watching you run all I kept telling myself was "Man he's running a low line, and damn he's consistent" just out of curiosity what kinda drop off in lap times were you having from front to back? Bill Auchterlonie 11-22-2005, 06:30 PM Congradulations Eric, you were in a class of your own this past weekend. Did Adam ask if he could carry your bags to the car for you? I thought he was running stock, did he change his mind? Hope to race with you again at Acrons next big race. P.S. Did you fill the trophy with champagne and drink from the cup? erock1331 11-22-2005, 06:43 PM Congradulations Eric, you were in a class of your own this past weekend. Did Adam ask if he could carry your bags to the car for you? I thought he was running stock, did he change his mind? Hope to race with you again at Acrons next big race. P.S. Did you fill the trophy with champagne and drink from the cup? Thanks Bill Always a great time running with you, Matt, Ozzie, Bobbie and crew Its funny cause I packed my cases but had to take pics so adam was nice enough to carry my bags to the car for me, thanks Adam !! Adam was gonna run stock, then decided to run both classes, but got into messing with his 19T car Friday morning and just decided to try doing good with that. He said when he built his stock car last week that the front end never went together well so I think he had it in the back of his mind that the car wasnt gonna be right. I think I am gonna fill the cup up with Margurita's on Thursday !!! erock1331 11-22-2005, 06:46 PM just out of curiosity what kinda drop off in lap times were you having from front to back? On my TQ run I ran 2 4.9's and ended on Solid 5.3's Turned my last 5.2 on lap 38 On Most runs I turned 5.0's and ended on 5.3's maybe a couple 5.4's Usually a bigger track and you drop more so I was real happy with only losing 3-4 tenths as the run went on. KenBajdek 11-22-2005, 07:58 PM Just wondering when the new chassis only parts will be shipping? Mr.fastman 11-22-2005, 09:22 PM icenutz - You've got mail. Mr.fastman 11-22-2005, 09:24 PM Eric - That sure was impressive, I'm still scratching my head trying to figure it out. Congrats again.
