Arnie Fie 08-16-2005, 05:45 PM Jason: Not going to touch the solid chassis, no worries there.
MC8: I'd tell you what I know about BMS, but I have never run there.
DavePull: Are the "cream" and "tan" foam compounds for the RC4Less tires similar in compound as what TRC sells? Those two foam compound in TRC's was a complete different foam structure (closed cell foam I believe) than that of Whites, Greys, and Blacks. Typically my personal choice running JACO foams for 19 turn is either to start with a White LR, Grey RR and LF, and a Black RF OR 3 pinks and purple RF.
SRM: Where is my e-mail? Don't get me mad... My EDM wheel is way too rusty it appears. As bad as I had it, it was still fun to be out. Wished you could have held Pedro off for about 15 more seconds, it was going to get real good then. Good run none the less.
Jason Lambert 08-16-2005, 06:56 PM Whatever you guys do Arnie, I'm not concerned.. I know the source, so it's always gonna be good. :)
How you been lately anyway? Shoot me an PM or gimmie a ring, it's been a while

I will try to be there for sure  , would really like to see the new chassis.
CrazyRonny :dude:
philb1 08-17-2005, 06:28 AM Davepull, try going up a compound all around, should free it up some. When I ran them I used tan LR gray RR & LF black RF for stock,3 pinks and a purple for 19 turn with a magenta RR on short tracks for better rotation.
Racin Steve 08-17-2005, 08:13 AM Hey Steve I am trying to find the right tires to run on carpet. I run for RC4less and we have a very limited experience with these tires on carpet. i am running 19t these are my choices.
natural
pink (35)
magenta (40)
purple (45)
exotics
white (25)
cream (30)
tan (35)
gray (40)
black (45)
hard Black (50)
Last time out I ran
LF cream
RF grey
LR white
RR cream
the car was pretty good but it just seemed to stuck springs I had red progressive fronts and a gold LR blue RR
also if you have to run a oderless compound what would you run? alot of guys down here like Jack the Slipper. I have read were people say you should run what everybody else is running but I wanted the to paragon but because of the smell I choice to go with the paragon traction action figuring it to be the closests thing.
Hi Dave, I have no experience with Bruce Tripplett's tires ... have you ask Bruce himself? I have a very good setup on BSR (with odourless traction compound) but I'd be throwing darts on a dime for an equivalent setup on RC4LESS tires ...
Steve.
erock1331 08-17-2005, 08:58 AM also if you have to run a oderless compound what would you run? alot of guys down here like Jack the Slipper. Slipper has the least amt of traction.
I would say Niftech and Traction Action have the most grip out of the odorless ones.
Jason Lambert 08-17-2005, 12:56 PM Dave.... what is everyone else running, what brand/compounds.. that might be a help as to what might work. I tried teh rc4less tires.. I found that even the white/grey type rubber seemed to have alot of rubber in it, they acted alot more like a pink/purple type tire then I am used to with the trc and jaco stuff. when I tried to run them on a car that was set up to run 3 whites and a black, the car didn't work at all, regardless which combination I tried.. but when I tried them on my other car that was set up to run 3 pinks and a purple, they seemed more normal to me.. except I wasn't running pinks and purples. Just a thought.
Mr.fastman 08-18-2005, 11:29 PM Dave - Email Bill A. he has run rc4less tires on carpet quite a bit he should be able to help you out. whatsupbnt@msn.com

Hi Steve,
Do you know why you didn't receive the new chassis last Friday as suppose? :( Is it ready yet or is it delay?
Will have to buy something very soon, the biginning of the oval season is near, and I'm not sure what to choose
CrazyRonny :dude:
blueracer55 08-22-2005, 08:54 PM three hundred dollars later i almost have the car ready! lol servo mount, 0 bump steer blocks, silva shocks, new tires, body, monts, motor, wing, wing kit, blah blah blah! But man it looks fast on the desk! lol

UPS lost the package and then delivered it 2 days late.
CrazyRonny ... if you have a minute, call Mario Potvin he'll tell you how good the CW Aggressor is ... the new chassis (slider) isn't going to obsolete the solid chassis, it is simply added hardware available to all the racers.
You know that you'll be in good hands with CW ... you're always welcome at our pit spaces (everybody is of course) it's always easier to help on setup when we're using identical cars.

I like the looks of the design as it leaves more material on the main chassis. My question is on the slots for the left front suspension mount. Is this just an idea to try or have you (CW) decided that changing the track width by the LF suspension just not a good idea or unneeded?
Brian
Racin Steve 09-05-2005, 11:14 PM Xpressman ... Front track width is always made as per its relation to the rear track ... what I mean is, when you move the RF in and leave the RR untouched, you get more steering going in the turns (vice versa) ... and when you move the LF out and leave the LR untouched, you get more steering going out of the turns.
The LR is easily moved in and out ... you can always decide to either move the LR in or out if you'd like to increase (LR in) or decrease (LR out) the amount of steering going out of the turns. The RR you can only move it that much 'cause you'll then have a pinion/motor shaft issue, that's why I think the RF track adjustability is welcomed.
The LF is precisely moved forward or backward with the same current "width" locator ... each next hole alignment (step) is 1/16". By moving the LF back, you increase the rear bite the car will have mid-out (vice versa).
I'll run the car this weekend at GlennsFalls (season opener).

Jason Lambert 09-06-2005, 05:40 AM Intresting. As I have a car that needs a new chassis plate anyway, one of these would be welcomed. I do have a question.. being that it appears to be made of the same thickness carbon as the solid chassis, how flexy does it feel? Still not 100% on if the stiffer car is better or worse, both certainly have a home, just curious as to how this compares to the original chassis.

The prototype is .010" thicker than solid chassis and its made of a different graphite composite ... front/back flex looks close to solid chassis ... "torsion" (LF/RR) looks to have more flex than solid chassis, of course it is expected since the left front area is so much different.

Jason Lambert 09-06-2005, 12:21 PM It's hard to tell the thicknesfrom the pic's, but I could tell it wasn't really thick like 120 or anything like that..... but thanks for clearing that up Steve. I imagined that the "twist" flex would be more and the "bow" flex ( my goofy terms LOL ) would be that way, the added piece to attach the tray should keep the "bow" strenth of the chassis plate up, while the thinned out left side would allow teh chassis to "twist" more. The carbon looks like old school Dieter carbon, stuff that he used to use on some of his projects. If it's the stuff I think that it is, that's good stuff.... everything should be made out of that.
How is Jim doing these days, I haven't talked to him in well over a year. Good I hope, tell him I said hi if you talk to him.
HAZZARD RACING 09-06-2005, 06:56 PM The AGGRESSOR slider car looks good, is this going to be a complete kit unto itself or an option slider conversion kit to the AGGRESSOR solid kit, any release date?
Mr.fastman 09-06-2005, 07:54 PM Steve - Car looks good, anxoius to hear how it runs for you.

Tommygun43 09-11-2005, 03:37 AM Hey Steve where can I find those pins you use in the caster blocks?
burbs 09-11-2005, 03:56 AM they look like CW pins... i got some for 7 bucks.. they work good, but i had to add a .015 shim to mine cause they were a smidge to long..I like tgh e clips on them.. i also got a bag of like 20 clips for like 3 bucks.. there small clips so i would recomend an extra bag..
Racin Steve 09-11-2005, 11:29 AM Hey Steve where can I find those pins you use in the caster blocks?
burbs is right, CW pins.
I also added .015" ... they are made longer in order to compensate for the tolerances on the top a-arms.
I ran the slider prototype yesterday ... it's a sweet ride!
With the LF set at 1/16" forward, car was super smooth and fast!
I already prefer this chassis over the solid ... sounds kind of "yeah sure, of course" ... but in facts I had never ran a car that allowed the LF to be moved back or forward ... truth is, I REALLY like how the car reacted once I moved the LF 1/16" forward versus the RF ... it basically felt like I had fixed something in the front geometry of the car ...
car was fast and easy to drive with the front setup "square" ... but when I moved the LF forward it just made it even smoother through the turn.
I also tested the LF 1/16" back and it made the car push in middle ... it went in ok but then had a push in middle ... I see this setup (LF back 1/16") being good when a car always want to turn too much middle-off.
I talked with Arnie this morning and it looks like we're still aiming at end of October for release date.
Steve.

Arnie Fie 09-12-2005, 09:21 AM tommygun43: Those pins are PN#8078. Make it nice an easy to change castor and shim out play in the upper arm.
losi888: Marshal's was always a "different" kind of track but now they have laid new carpet and it should be a even more awesome place to race. I'd go with Steve's set-up off our website for starters. I remember with the old carpet you would set your trim on the back straight and the car would pull right on the front straight. Set trim on the front straight, car would pull left on the back straight. It was weird carpet but Dot and Bill have brand new ozite now.
jake86 09-12-2005, 05:01 PM Arnie,
Will you be offering the slider chassis and the battery tray as a package deal for those with the solid car that want to convert to the slider? Or will you have to buy them as separate parts?
