can anyone help me? I want to buy a late model or open wheel modified dirt oval gas car. What should I buy, and is it rtr?

Get an Invigorator! No, just kidding, no such thing (I hope). The best way to find out is to do some research, price, parts support, skill level, what others are running. It's all up to you. You will get 20 different answers for 20 different cars. They are all the best if that's the one you are running. Get out to your local track and ask questions and see what's going on. You just might meet some people that want to help you.

I just built my first Gas EDM. I built a Terminator and it works great. There not RTR. I'm not sure of a True EDM car that's RTR. The Teminator goes together easy and is one of the easiest cars to drive. Just my 2 cents.
