This will undoubtedly date me, but does anyone besides me remember the PBS series "Meeting of Minds"?

Here is a link to the complete info: http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-8461/Meeting_of_Minds/
I just bought episodes #13 and #14 on VHS - it isn't avalable on DVD!

WONDERFUL SHOW! I remember watching it in the late '70's. Didn't miss an episode!
If Star Wars is eye-candy, this show was mind-candy!

I just wish the entire show was available on DVD!
After all, you can get most if not all of the Three Stooges on DVD.
Why would this show not be worth the trouble???
It just isn't right. :(

I remember watching it too, his wife Jane played all the female characters, and Roscoe Lee Brown from "The Cowboys" played all the black ones! Both usually wore REALLY bad wigs as I recall.....

I know having the same female lead all the time was annoying. But there were so many other actors that you got over that.

As for Roscoe, I think he only portrayed one figure. Top-of-my-head that would be Frederick Douglas.

Alexander Scourby as Socrates was not to be missed!

If not a genius, Steve Allen was one of the most creative and prolific figures in American entertainment. Song writer, musician, actor, author, etc. I marvel at how much he accomplished in his lifetime.

When I was a student in Baltimore he made an appearance at Johns Hopkins. I read an account he gave about how bored and uninterested in current events his student guide was. I thought to myself that I wouldn't know where to begin (or stop) with questions about his life, or his opinions about world affairs...

I have never seen an episode but I do seem to recall seeing it in the listings back in the day.

I too wish these would come out in DVD, loved the ones I saw. At first, there were other females but soon it did become Jane, Jane, Jane.

There were, I have them, a bunch of audio tapes from the episodes, about 20 volumes. They were available from Dove but not sure if they're still available.

Yep. I have one of the Dove audio sets myself! Hope to get more of them.

Also found out that you can buy them from Audible.com (http://www.audible.com), but only for download. Now I just have to find someone with a computer with a CD-burner willing to do the deed for me - after I get the cash together anyway.
