 I understand that after January 1 races at the Plex will be in compliance with roar rules, I think thats a good idea with the Regionals in March. In addition to weight and no 4 mag moters what other things do we need to check to insure our cars comply with roar rules in oval class. Great Track by the way.

I think the only tweak from what is going on now is that 19 turn races will be 4 min instead of 5, no 4 mags or brushless run in stock or 19 classes. No BRCA motors can be run either. Trinity shouldnt even be selling them in the states if they are not legal. I personally think stock should be handout but it dont look like that will happen. Hopefully it will be a good race

We appreciate your thoughts on pulling together to make the HobbyPlex a success, I know its a long way from Florida but we are hosting the Region 8 oval series on March 4,5, & 6th. It would be a great time to come up and race. The competition should be at a peak and you will see what a great track Omaha's HobbyPlex is.

The ROC race is on January 1 in Dubuque and there is a race on the 2nd in Vinton, sort of a combined special.

The ROC race has always been a good time and I think the attendance might be bigger this year.

Dubuque is in NE Iowa about 90 miles NE of Iowa City and Vinton is about 30 miles West of Cedar Rapids.

The Vinton race is an Oval only show and I'm sure the tunout will be very good as well, as a matter of fact both races are oval only shows.

Hope to see all of you there.

Hey Slowpoke, got my brushless over the weelend @ Vinton (thanks Phil). Speeds are awsome, but had a traction roll problem, way too much steering set in the radio (thanks Randy R and Cowboy). The plex is goin to be alot of fun with these, we might want to tech them though big differance between the 4300 and 5800, eh guys.......lol. See you guys in a couple of weeks, I'm on-call again this next weekend and can't leave town. Thanks Phil, Chris S, AJ and all the other guys from Dubuque and Vinton, had a great time and hope to do it again soon.

First race of the year was pretty good. I was kinda disapointed that thier was not a stock class. Just the plex cup. Also not a brushless in the house at all...at least not one being ran. Turnout was about the same

BallisticBill
01-10-2005, 03:16 PM
I counted 20 entries. I think that may be the best turnout so far this season for a regular oval day. Good clean racing and looked like all were having a really good time. There was a positive atmosphere around the track all day.

Looks like next Sat we may have even more drivers show up. Missed SLOWPOKE this week but we know he had guard duty. Looking forward to the Region 8 race in March. I think I will sign up for the ROAR 19T this time. Close racing in this class. All the drivers qualified with 54 and 55 laps. Couldnt catch Brittany this week but I will try to next week. Couldn't catch Rob either but Ben S almost did.

See ya at the track

Stagger2
01-16-2005, 12:32 PM
Not good enough....it will make you good. BL is a great class, takes the motor out of the equation. It lets you think more about setup and driving, this will help to get you to the next level. I used to think the that it was all motor and batts (though that comes into play) but a better setup and good driver can make a slow car fast and consistant run after run.

Some of us have been running 19 T open 4 min at HobbyPLEX the last couple of weeks. Looks like this is going to be a popular class to run for the Region race comming up in March. So if your looking at this class, it looks like we will run it every Saturday. Contact Rob M. if you are looking for some setups and tire combos if interested in 19T open at the PLEX.

Also, don't forget that the track is open from 10 am to 8 pm on Friday for those who want to get in some oval practice. 2 bucks an hour. Well worth it !!!
