Great Job Jim Stagger2 11-12-2004, 12:08 AM Jim you may want to wait to see what I have in mind for my next one.lol. Chad SLOWPOKE 11-13-2004, 12:44 AM Chad Can't wait to see your new idea, won't make it to Tea, SD on Sunday afterall Jim Mayhem Racing 11-13-2004, 11:04 AM Good luck to all the Fastlane On-Road guys in Omaha. Mikey ,Todd ,Billy D SHane Stagger2 11-21-2004, 11:32 AM You know my thought on it. I just need the money for the system. Chad O BallisticBill 11-21-2004, 08:24 PM Rob Murdock, & MURDOCK R/C Tires, breaks the STOCK OVAL track record here at the Omaha Nebraska HobbyPLEX 11/20/04 onefastlap 11-24-2004, 11:37 AM I see the post regarding the new record, but what was the laps/time? MURDOCKRC 11-24-2004, 12:16 PM Wasnt by a major margin but Dom Ursetta had the old one with 63 5:02.50 and I squeaked out a 63 5:02.26. Rob Stagger2 11-25-2004, 12:03 PM I want to john but it won't be till after the first or the year. Probably closer to income tax time. Money is a tight then just before Xmas, two kids an all. Don't give up on it though. Chad AJS 11-25-2004, 04:12 PM Cowboy, there are 3 or 4 of us in my area that have the Novak system, we have done some practicing, but any full races yet. I Think Phil B. did some races in Omaha and was quite please. I have both the 5800 and the 4300 motor, there is not as much difference as I thought there might be. I think it is definately a class that needs to be examined, what a great 2nd class to run, you only have to worry about tires and a battery. I'll see you sometime at the plex. AJ SLOWPOKE 11-26-2004, 12:15 AM AJ Phil B ran 66 laps last Saturday with a 5800 motor. That is 3 laps faster than the track record for stock at the HobbyPlex. If most of the guys go brushless I am sure I will too. Jim Carson  philb1 11-26-2004, 07:22 AM 5800 in limited mode even, have a 4300 system heading this way too,for whatever class everyone cares to run, or I could loan it to Chad  Stagger2 11-26-2004, 08:45 AM Thanks Phil, this sounds like fun. I won't be there for the next two weekend, another family dinner this Sat, and my company Xmas party the 4th of Dec. Who knows, maybe I'll bring home a cash door prize and be able to buy one sooner (not). Let me know what happens at the track and we can go from there. Chad BallisticBill 11-28-2004, 01:19 PM Congratulations to the HpbbyPLEX oval track record breakers. Started out with Brittany Murdock shattering the 19 Turn track record in the first heat but Randy Ryder breaks that in the second heat. Randy hangs on to the track record and goes on to win the A. Rob Murdock breaks his own track record in stock and gets into the 64 lap range. The track at HobbyPlex gets faster and faster. Great place to race !!!! SLOWPOKE 12-01-2004, 08:42 PM Hey Stagger 2 Are you going to be at the HobbyPlex on Dec. 13, I would like to have you paint that body you described to me. Will give you the unpainted body when I see you next. Great job on the mad clown boy, have gotten lots of good comments. Jim  Stagger2 12-01-2004, 09:43 PM If you mean the 11th then yes. Sounds good to me, hope you are running that body and not on just for looks, lol. I hope to do more bodies for ppl even though someone paints very good bodies there too. See you in two weeks, I'll "GIT ER DONE". Chad O MURDOCKRC 12-04-2004, 07:18 PM plex racers. I know we all (me included) have been quite critical of how things have gone at hobby plex. High hopes and huge dissappointments. It makes me sick to see a place that has the potential be suck a failure. Especially on the oval side of things, but guys with one possibly two new tracks starting up it will be gone soon if attendance doesnt change and a positive attitude brought to the place. I agree with many of you that the concerns of the drivers have not been met at all and some have expressed that they are not treated very well by the staff and I understand if you upset but just remember that once it is gone it will not be back. No finger pointing intended to ANYONE, we dont have to like everything but the track is good and sometimes you have to ignore the things we dont like a little. Just something to think about because 10 car turn outs says it all in a nutshell. B mullins 12-06-2004, 04:00 AM what new tracks opening already? anywhere close to omaha. Merry Christmas to all from the friendly desert!!!!!!!! See ya in the new year MURDOCKRC 12-06-2004, 12:25 PM They are in the close area. Hobby plex should start promoting, working around other tracks the best they can and welcome everyone with open arms. Word is that when the new tracks open that many will not be racing hobby plex. I do want to make something very clear. This post is not aimed at any driver or even the management at HP. I want this track to survive but I would also like more racers so that we all have good competition and have a good time. 10 to 15 cars and a bad attitude in the building dont make it much fun. I would like to see it change before it is to late. there is no reason that the population in and around Omaha should not have new people coming to race and in almost a year of racing there is not one new driver in oval at least. Something is wrong with that picture. jake86 12-06-2004, 01:10 PM I hate to hear that you guys are having those kind of problems. I have only raced there a couple times. And it is the best place I have raced at. I love come up there to race but it is hard to make a 5 hour trip up there more then twice a year. And I agree with you Rob with size of the town that it is in there should be 30 oval racers there each week. You guy are lucky to have such a nice place to race. Are group around Springfield, Mo don't have a place to race right know but that is about to change with soon opening of a new track. Good luck And see you at the next big race you guys have. Jason Jackson AJS 12-06-2004, 03:43 PM I would have to say that HP is the nicest facility that I have ever raced at and I would truly hate to see something bad happen to it. I too have a long drive to race there. If it were closer I would rarely go anywhere else to race. I'm not sure why your turnout is so low, but I would hope that someone would figure it and fix it. I have raced with you guys twice and had a great time both times. I plan on making the 5 hour trip mid winter and when ever the 2-day oval race is this spring. You guys need to set down and figure out what is going to be required to get you attendance up. Whether it is someone swallowing their pride or a format change or offer different classes, anything to make it work. Good luck. BallisticBill 12-06-2004, 08:05 PM AJ I think we have tried just about everything that WE can do. What you suggested has been tried. I gave them a small suggestion like updating the track web site. I started 2 months ago and have brought it up every week since. As you can see it hasn't been updated. Your track updated yours the day of the race. Just a small suggestion that no one listens to. Was good to see some of you guys over here back in Oct. We will probably be coming over a few times this winter and for sure the day of your two day oval in March. Rob is going to list the date of your two day on his web site. Should be bigger than last year. He is trying to get a major manufacturer from California to come to the race also. Take care. hyperdriver 12-06-2004, 10:35 PM What I find really sad with this whole thing is the anamosety between people. I am in my first year of racing at the new facility and it is great. I have meet some really great and helpful people also. I am not totally sure what is going to happen, but Im sure that I have a good idea what will happen if things don't change. I am new to the oval scene and enjoy it better than any other form of racing that I have done. I have also read on another board that the HT in Lincoln is thing about starting to race at Goodyear again?? What will this do to the oval program in Omaha?? I would like to go other places around the region and race, but with this track here why should I have to? I realize that some people like to travel to other tracks and that is great, but I cant do that. Having 10 to 12 cars on a Saturday is a pretty bad turnout if you ask me. What is going to happen next year? Is oval all but dead in Omaha????? I really hope not. MURDOCKRC 12-07-2004, 01:02 AM I didnt mean for this to turn in to a debate again. No one argues that the track is great as well as the facility. BUT the 10 car turn outs (or slightly more weekly) dont make the grade on a facility in a city that large. There are no new people coming in plus that, old ones that were have not come back since the changes of last year that no one liked. It is hard for me personally to sit back and hear & watch what goes on that seems to be keeping people away or making them say that if there was another place to go I would be there. Lets look at this for example. There were a few people that never missed a day at SA speedway for years and hp is lucky if those guys show up once a month. That is a red flag. All tracks will have there problems but they dont have to as far as Im concerned. Vinton for example. Nothing but arguements over track set up and tear down. There are a handfull of guys who will and a majority who cant or wont. That is a fact, no need to complain anymore about it. If I were closer I would be there endlessly to help. Im not a failure minded person and I have a hard time watching failure with something that I care about even when it is not mine. If Im at fault for that in some people eyes then so be it but dont have a problem with people who care and arent affraid to say something about it. I want hp to be successful but at this point I dont see that it is. Guys, I care, I want more racers, I want everyone to get along and have a good time. No finger pointing what so ever intended just remember the old saying. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU GOT UNTIL ITS GONE BallisticBill 12-07-2004, 09:32 PM Shine your shoes and comb your hair because it looks like the HobbyPLEX in Omaha will be hosting the ROAR region 8 carpet oval regionals on March 4,5 & 6 2005. Not sure if these dates are set in stone but it comes from a pretty reliable source. If anyone else can confirm this please do so. Let's see if we can get track attendance up for weekly racing. Not everyone can be there every Sat. I missed the first 3 weeks because of farming but the more drivers we get the better. I know Rob M. has been calling some former drivers from the SPEEDZONE days to get them to dust off there cars and try to make it to the track. I heard some concerns that the reason no one will race 19T is because they think that the motors are to easily tampered with. I am going to suggest to Tim that in STOCK and in 19T that the A main winner and anyone breaking a track record in these two classes have there motor cans openned and the arm looked at on Saturday races. As a matter of fact I think every track should open the can on a track record setting car. I don't think anyone would object to this. Maybe this will ease the concerns of some drivers and eliminate the finger pointing. You just as well get used to it because at the ROAR paved oval nats I saw cans openned and arms sawed in half. You also could not touch your car after a race if you were 1 2 or 3 until it was teched. I'm not suggesting we saw arms in half on weekly racing but something more than just weighing the car needs to be done at the HP. See you at the track hyperdriver 12-07-2004, 11:41 PM According to our new ROAR director yes the date is set in stone. I hope its not the week I am in Vegas speedpunk 12-08-2004, 12:06 AM HT never raced at Goodyear and never will!!!!!! wildman 12-08-2004, 12:13 AM Can't wait to come up and run the the regionals. You guys have an awsome racing facility, now get off your @$#%& and support it. I wish all you guys could have experienced our track owner down here never new when he would burst out in a fit of rage over nothing. We drive 5+ hrs to race with you guys so keep the place alive! kevin hyperdriver 12-08-2004, 01:12 AM Like I said it was someting I read on another board!!!!! mullins 75 12-08-2004, 12:23 PM Their will be at least 6 or 7 guys coming from colorado to race at the March race. We have the same problem in Denver, great facility but know one shows up. I know at least 50 people that have cars and won't come race, I can't figure it out. come up Omaha guys support your track!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Later guys Larry Mullins THE DARKSIDE 12-08-2004, 09:46 PM Hmm.... March race in Omaha, I might just have to make the trek from Colorado with Larry. I've heard it's a very nice facility. -The Darkside speedpunk 12-08-2004, 10:58 PM Stay tuned next week as the Plex turns!!! hyperdriver 12-08-2004, 11:10 PM Stay tuned next week as the Plex turns!!! So what is that supposed to mean? Stagger2 12-08-2004, 11:13 PM To much drama, not enough race talk. hyperdriver 12-08-2004, 11:19 PM Yep I will agree with that, but need to be more than 10 cars. Other than that I love the place. It can only get better. Maybe the regional thing will help. Bmainer#3 12-08-2004, 11:32 PM What up stagger2? Haven't seen ya or heard from ya much. speedpunk 12-08-2004, 11:35 PM stagger 2 are you going to be at the track on Saturday? Stagger2 12-08-2004, 11:47 PM I'll be there with bells on. Done a lot of reworking on my HD. found lots of problems with it got most fixed. It was so out of square, I now know why it was hard to keep straight. I should work much better through the corner now. Chad Stagger2 12-09-2004, 09:38 AM Cool, still waiting to get mine. I hope that Phil will let me try out his spare system sometime. See you at the track this weekend(?), and we can talk somemore. Chad O:cool: BallisticBill 12-09-2004, 11:19 AM Looks like Rob M. shook the tree enough to start getting a little positive chatter here. This be good. Let's try to keep it that way here and at the track. Looks like a better turnout for Saturday. 2 more weeks left in the points series. Maybe next points series some of us can start looking at running 19T and if brushless catches on that could be another class to run. Looks like a number of drivers from Colorado will be here in March and I'm hearing alot of chatter from around the midwest about this race. This should be a good one. Slowpoke are you out there? Rob and I are planning on going to the track tomorrow and do a little practice. If your not working look us up. Stagger2 12-09-2004, 02:20 PM Spin!!!!!!! BallisticBill 12-09-2004, 07:22 PM The HobbyPLEX web site has been updated and the 2005 race schedule is listed. The dates for the ROAR region 8 championship oval race are shown as listed above, March 4,5 and 6, 2005. Tim has also put on the site that full ROAR rules will apply starting Jan 1, 2005 to all classes. He has also updated the race results. Progress is quickly being made. I'm sure someday in the near future this track will host a national event. See ya at the track nitro4294 12-11-2004, 03:09 PM Hey guys, Thinkin about drivin down and racing with you some this winter. Wonderin what do you guys recamend for tire compounds. We are running blues and purples up front and white and grays in the rear on both 1/10th and 1/12th scales. Thanks  Stagger2 12-11-2004, 03:26 PM We're running Gry rears purp LF Dbl Prp RF that would get you close. Durometers reading would Low to mid 40's rear, Hi 40's LF, Low 50's RF. If the track is loose, which it usually is at the start of the day you could just soak the tires a sec or two longer. This is what I run (or there about) in 1/10th stock. 1/12th or mod amy be a step softer, I'm not sure. What are your thought guys. I have never run those classes here. Chad O nitro4294 12-12-2004, 10:22 AM Good deal...Thats real close to what I run so I should be ready to run. Hope to get down sometime soon.
