A genuinely original filmaker has passed. All 40DD bras and above should be flying at half-mast.

A chapter in american film making has drawn to a close.
So, does this mean we'll finally see some of his films on DVD at a reasonable price? I hope so, as there are much fewer revival houses around to show his work now.

I've been very surprised that there hasn't been a commercially available "Russ Meyer Collection" on DVD by now. Or at least "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" - Criterion oughta' do that one.

From what I recall, Meyer owned most of his films and you had to order VHS copies from him. It's been years since I looked it up but I recall he was charging quite a bit per copy.

Some of his movies are now available on DVD. They can be found on Amazon. I got a couple.
