This saturday Josh had an opportunity, at Showtime, to try the new foams from RC4LESS. After the race Garry Hamilton, who had a set, let Josh try them. First let me say the wheels are straight and look waaaay cool! On the track they performed great. I would say in no time everyone will be running these tires.
Good Job Bruce!

Im sure the qaulity of the foam will be great...But does anyone really like the orange colored rim?.....I dont even like to buy TRC tires because of the yellow rims....Now orange?.:drunk: ...Bruce.....If you took a poll im sure most racers would want the black rim...........Black or gray......Just something to consider....Good luck with the tires...Im sure the foam will be good

I agree Orange may be cool for a while but they will get old. I would rather have the black or gray.

As long as the foam is consistant and the wheels run true,(and the front bearings fit properly) I don't care if the wheels are pink, purple yellow or black. It's not about show, it's all about go. I think the wheels look cool. But then again, I'm kind of partial to orange.....

If the tires are that great, I would run them. But I agree with you guys, black wheels just look right on a race car. Maybe we can talk the Nature Boy into making them black. The wheel design is way cool though!!

With ORANGE wheels, there's no doubt where they came from. GREAT advertising. Think about it, a car with black wheels, the mfg. doesn't even enter your mind, unless the driver has the name plasterd on his shirt :dude: but ORANGE, you can't help but think about it  .

Black or even Gray wheels will go with any color that you would want to paint your car. Orange will not, we are racing oval cars not Touring cars. I have not seen a TRC yellow wheel here in are area ever. It really does not make any difference to me what color you make them , not trying to bash anyone. I just think the sales will be better with black or maybe gray, just trying to help.

having a bright colored wheel actually serves to purposes. the first is it helps you see you car better. and second it allows you to watch the front tires to see how much you are turing the wheels. I really like the trc rubber and some of the other guys are running them and like I said i watch there front wheels to see how much they are turning.

I think a lot of you guys are hitting nail right on the head on more than one aspect of the wheels. If they are true and strong who cars about looks....are you racing or just looking pretty?? LOL And wheel dots can get you disqualified!

Advertising is the key, it doesn't matter if someone remounts the rubber, you still think RC4Less when you see them.

And those things are going to look real good on black asphalt at night!!!

tires look great, but to be honest I would not buy them based on the color alone, only because there are other good tires out there that are on black rims and I take alot of care to having my cars look authentic to a real car. Not bashing here at all they look like a great product and the prices will be right, just stating my opinion.

WOW, I didn't know color was going to be a big deal. :) I like the color. I also agree with McLin. When and if they set records then we will see orange wheels on everybody's cars. LOL
They seem to be strong and the front bearings fit snug but not tight.

I agree with U2racer..I think bruce is a great guy..Have done a bit of Buisness with him.......However half the fun of this hobby to me is getting the car to look stought......You will never see an orange wheel on my cars...

Bruce came down to our track a few months ago and give a few people some of the tires to try, had good results. I was jelous that I did not get any, but I did not know him very well. But oh well. I like the rims because they are orange, and I can see my car going in and coming out of the corner, and it is a visual when I drive. And they are diferant from everybody else, which is why i was a little jelous. Cant wait for Bruce to come back down, super fun guy, see you at the reg. 3 ovals

I want to clairify that Gary had Josh run the rc4less foams since they were sent to him.

I like my TRC tires becasue they don't peel off the rim, the rubber is consistant, they don't split down the middle and the rims ar pretty strong. with that being said. that's all I care about.

So My question is who's rubber is being mounted on these freakin cool looking wheels??

TRC or Jaco

Fl Flash

I was under the impression that all the tire/wheel manufactures were using foam from the same suppliers  the only real difference was the wheels and how the foam is mounted on the wheels ? Are they making there own propietary foam?
Also is Bruce going to continue selling Johns BSR caps and foams? Really like the service I get from RC4Less.

I Like Black wheels  , See Ya!

Glad someone gave me a phone call a few minutes ago. I hadn't checked the threads. I'll try to respond to any questions that have been asked.

1. First post, I know Gary has a tire sponsor and had sent him some samples to pass around. Not trying to stir the pot on that front. We are friends and I had bearings going his way so I took advantage of free shipping! LOL

2. Orange Rims!!! (WOW or UGGGH as the case may be) The Jet hit the nail as did Lin Vaughan and davepull. I chose orange for all the reasons they stated. Not trying to bash those that prefer white, black or gray, just my preference.

3. Tommygun43 I've done some pretty good whacking against the boards and if they will stand up to my driving I think they will stand up to most anyone.

4. Pancartom, good suggestion!

5. Jam, enjoyed the racing at Fastrack Hobbies. The Region 3 race looks to be a good one! Great bunch of guys down there as well. I did a good job testing their outside wall also.

6. Who's rubber is it? The rubber is exclusive to RC4LESS. It isn't TRC or JACO or BSR, TM or anyone else's. Sink or swim it's ours. We addressed this in our email news letter and on the web site. We chose to go with our own foam. Been testing various foams for over 6 months (since this year's Daytona Speedway race) that's why I wasn't running my favorite 1/12 scale class down there.

7. Not posted here but had a few emails quizzing me on the double packaging. (Plastic bags inside boxes) I did this to keep the tires as fresh as possible. I thought it was a nice touch to ensure freshness every time you open up a new box.

8. YES I will still be selling BSR Foams and Cap Tires. That seems like a good sales position to me. BSR has outstanding products and has been the staple of my business for over 5 years now. No sense changing that. Just continuing to do what I have tried to do...... offer customers a choice along with the best customer service we know how.

Any other questions or comments please feel free. I appreciate any feedback at this point. We will have them up and ready to ship by October 1st. Several hobby shops have already emailed wanting to preorder and we have accomodated them too.

Thanks,

Bruce

Dave, if you run those durometer numbers then you would run a R35 (Pink) and an R40 (Magenta). Just add a "F" or "R" to denote front or rear and you have our numbering system down. We use (what we hope is the industry standard) maxmod durometer for our hardness readings that are included with the product number.

1/12 scale has moved from the rear of my brain to close to the front and after October 1 it will move all the way to the front. Yes I hope to have 1/12 scale foams sometime early next year. Hey I got to have some tires for my favorite class at the Birds!

RCGen I better fess up here and now, my wife & daughter both graduated from UGA!!!! Go Dawgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just don't tell them I have Gator colors! lol

CKappler not at this point. We will stick with our Neon Orange.

Bruce -- is there a reason you don't offer a "Green" compound..?

Most 'Green' tires seem to durometer around 30 +/- (I have a Maxmod durometer), but since they are a different rubber compound, the durometers don't directly compare to 'exotic' compounds. Which of your compounds would be the same "bite" as 'Green'...?

Billy W
09-14-2004, 04:54 PM
tfrahm, Bruce might have the same problem as many of the other tire companies are having finding green. I was told the main supplier of green faom doesn't exist any more and many are looking for another source.

Can't wait to see these things in person. the rim looks realy nice.

Are these wheels/tires made in Europe? GQ?

Something that would be cool would be if you could buy one (1) tire instead of only in pairs... On the front, for example, I'm running a blue RF and a black LF -- I'd have to buy 4 tires to get one pair of fronts... I keep the rear tires on a single compound so I can rotate them to balance wear and avoid getting reverse stagger, so that's not a problem for me, but even there, some are running a white LR and a Black RR...

I have seen another MFG. that has some of his compounds packaged individually. That would be a good ideal.
As far as the color goes I would really like it to be a netual color that will go with different paint jobs on my car. This is Hobby and part of it is having a car that looks like maybe one of the NASCAR guys or of your own design. They use to have concours at big races for the best looking car. Orange wheels just will not look good with everything. I guess a guy could maybe die them but thats allot of trouble.
Enough on the color and good luck on the new wheels and tires.

Bruce, Just leave it up to the hobby shops to price the tires as singles, as this is what we have done here at Fastrack Hobbies. All you have to do is divide the cost, retail, and the street price in half and you can sell them as singles. All of our oval tires are sold that way.

got through with no damage, the folks 20 miles East weren't so lucky, Pensacola Fla. looks like a war zone and the I-10 bridge over Escambia bay is gone both directions.

Gulf shores doesn't exist anymore very bad deal and we still have 2-1/2 months left in hurricane season.

I had a question previously about how tough the wheels are and indicated that they have withstood my driving style and another test driver (un-named at this point) has checked in with his race report from this past weekend's action. One picture should do the trick. Without causing this driver any embarassement, the wheels took a licking and kept on ticking cause some how he won the ProMod class at the race. And I though only I ran a body this ragged! October 1 is the scheduled release date, but I hope to have the web site updated this weekend (9/25)
