top 3 spots was rc4less
Christian and I was on purple rights and pink lefts.
Not sure what compounds Mike G. was running.
Its official, the dirt oval tires work on carpet and asphalt too.
Christian also made the a-main in 19t. finished 8th gray lf / black rf / cream lr / tan rr
Thanks for the support Bruce,

RCThunder 08-09-2006, 10:00 PM Baby is keeping me busy but I can't use that one for an excuse haha
We will have a couple more carpet races before the birds so I can get the monkey off my car haha. But I love the competition and wouldn't change it for the world. We have a lot of great racing here in FLA! It's bad to the bone!
I did have 2 great podium pics (both B-man haha). I want to be like the fast guys and post my pics. Let's pretend this is the A!!!

LOL......... yup! ....... the racing @ minnreg was super competitive ........ my car was "off" but not by much, the i think 7th or 8th in the A to 3rd and 4th starting spot in the B was like 2 seconds or less........crazy competition.

To me that's what makes racing fun when it's close like that. LOL
cneyedog 08-11-2006, 05:55 PM yeah, me too ....... I've been on both sides of those fateful 2 seconds but still had a great time racing and hanging out with all my racer buddies .......

RobRacer 08-29-2006, 10:26 PM Bruce - We are going to run carpet EDMs this winter and want to know if anyone has tried the dirt foam compounds (35 or 40) for rear tires on carpet yet?
RC4less 08-30-2006, 05:42 AM Hi Rob, yes I have several guys running sprint cars on ozite and they have had success with a couple of combinations. 3 Pinks and a purple or Magenta Right Front has worked and one guy liked the Silver rears with Pink LF & Purple RF.
The only thing we've found is you have to run them small in diameter to keep the side wall from rolling over. They come out of the box at 2.8" diameter and for dirt 2.58" is a good starting point for electric dirt oval. But for carpet I would start them out at 2.35" and then work down to something that felt comfortable.

disruptor10 08-30-2006, 06:50 AM hey Bruce , i pretty much ran my GBX last year with 3 blacks and a blue RF , any chance you can put that compound on the new wheels ? thanks Dave Lareau
RobRacer 08-30-2006, 08:20 AM Bruce, There are no silvers in the compound list. Did you mean Gray?
And - do you sell the tire grooving tools separate - just the 4 groove front and 5 groove back? Or do we need to buy all 4?
Finally can I get the Fussy brush tool with 270 and 280 bits?
smokefan 08-30-2006, 11:29 AM Dirt Oval silvers are listed as D25R or D25F, and just checked the website they are listed there also.

Hi Rob,
1. Silvers are the first compound listed with the dirt oval foams.
2. The grooving tools come as a set from the mfg.
3. I only have the kit with the 0.300 & 0.280 bits but can special order any individual size you need seperately.
Thanks

rcgen 09-04-2006, 12:45 PM How are the late model touring chassis cars using the dirt oval tires? I didn't see any hexes on the front or rear tires on the website. Are they just using the rears and not using the hex adaptors? I want to try something out in my touring car (Corally RDX) with the dirt oval tires for on-road. I am assuming I would need purples up front and pinks in the rear. If anyone else have tried this lmk.
Thanks,
Eugene
boatanchor48 09-04-2006, 05:20 PM does the corally have a pin under the hexes? to use the dirt oval foams you have to take the hexes off and just use the pin and also use the rear tires and narrow them to fit
smokefan 09-04-2006, 05:39 PM Ditto to what boatanchor said that is what I have seen done.

RC4less 09-04-2006, 05:39 PM RCGEN, you will need your Corally to have a 3/16" axle with a roll pin remaining when you remove the Hex adapters. The TC3 & TC4 work fine and your correct you use 4 rears. On my TC3 I narrow the fronts by 0.200"
Bt
rcgen 09-04-2006, 06:03 PM Yes, the axle is 3/16 with a pin.
Thanks guys
SDL98 09-07-2006, 11:55 PM Got a question for someone running stk without a wing. I haven't run without a wing for along time this year going to run a 13.5 in the BRL seies and local track. Two years ago was the last time I ran stk and my tire combo was RF H-blk LF blk RR-gray LR-tan. That was with a wing now I'm thinking I'm going to need alittle softer tire set up on the rear. Does anyone have a good combo for a stk without a wing on a fairly good bite carpet track.
smokefan 09-08-2006, 02:25 AM SDL98 I can try a few things this weekend and let you know. But I would try the current set up you have It may surprise you.

microman14 09-17-2006, 01:30 AM i bought some rc4less tires from a buddy to try on carpet and was wondering why the black and hard black are so hard most black are round 35 and a rc4less is 45 and hard is 50 just wondering y so much difference cause at the track im going to is a supoer small carpet oval that usally run a black or dbl black depending and was wondering if i should try a black or go with something softer
/
smokefan 09-17-2006, 02:25 AM Microman the softest I have tried was a Gray right front. But went back to the black, You can try softer but if you get your car to work with harder compounds the faster it will be. Just my .o2

For 4 cell stock try the Black rf, cream rr,white lr,cream lf . that's generally the norm and seems to work the best.

MicroMan I sent you a PM. You could give the Black rears a try, under normal conditions harder rear tires (gray or black) would give less rear traction but I suggest taking advantage of the info Jerry just provided. He is right on target.
