Just a quick note to give my thanks to all the racers who chose RC4LESS tires, bearings, diff balls and other products at the Snowbirds. John Hauenstein, Dave Pullifico & Mike Bean cashed in on some bounty money and many drivers in Stock & 19-turn classes were racing the orange. Good to see so many 1/12 drivers on RC4LESS foams, both 19-turn and pro-mod had plenty of orange.

Most of the 1/10 scale guys (stock & 19-turn) were on White LR, Cream RR, Cream LF & Black RF and the 1/10 mod drivers were on 3 pinks and a purple right front. The 1/12 scale (19-turn & Mod) drivers were on 3 pinks and a purple also.

We had plenty of nice comments on our dirt oval mounted foams. I had my EDM car setting on the pit table and it got a lot of hands on looking.

Thanks to Mike Boylan and his team for another awesome event. Nothing like it in the world.

Big thanks to Barry at Hyperdrive and the best 19-Turn motor-man in the business - G. Honey.

Can't wait till next year. Hope to see everyone at the Daytona Speedway Spectacular next month!

Bruce -- After reading the "new" setup/combo that seemed to be "the" setup at the Snowbirds, "You've got Mail" with an order for tires... Looks totally different than I've been running, but with the ROAR regionals next month in Kansas City, I need to try it... It's softer on all 4 corners than I run now, but if the "balance" is right, it could be sweet!

The owner/operator of FastLane (the host track for the regionals) made the A-main at the 'Birds, so these guys are FAST, and competition will be TOUGH! The track has brand new (less than a month old) CRC Ozite for this race, so the track will be in perfect condition...

Need HELP!!!

I have the Team Cobra AC Tire Truer. I have a problem getting the wheel to spin true. When the tire is on without the tightening clamp the tire spins just fine. I put the clamp on and it causes the tire to wabble and I am getting uneven cuts. What do I do? Should I find something else to tighten the wheel on? I have two clamps, one that came with the truer, and one that came with the arbors and both cause the wheel to wabble. Thanks for the help.

Skip,

It is possible that the center stud on your truer maybe slightly bent toward the end where the clamp threads on. A friend of mine had the same problem. If that stud is bent sometimes it will cause uneven pressure on the wheel when you go to clamp it on. That can cause the tire to wobble a little when you go to spool it up. If a bent stud is the problem you can probably get a replacement from a Screw or bolt store..... OR you can get something from Cobra direct.

The other possibility is that your arbor or Clamp might be slightly bent or out of round. Try taking calipers and take some measurements around were the rim seats on the arbor and some length measurements.... See if you notice any variances.

Hope this helps out,

Skip you are having the same problem that I had. Nothing is bent, the screw that hold the arbors is too long or something. Mostly the problem is with the rear wheels, seems the RC4Less and TRC wheels are thinner. When retaining arbor is tighten it doesn't snug all the way like it should. The tire seems snug but the minute you turn it on the wheel starts to wobble. Bruce suggested putting a washer in between the wheel and retainer, someone else suggested cutting off a short piece of the thread rod that holds the retaining hub.

Tom I just revised the web page and they should be visible. Just click the "Ultimate Front End" link like Danny said. Right now I have the axles and aluminum lock nuts. I have the brass shims being made and will have the full kit in about 2 weeks and will include on-center steering blocks with them and set screws.
These axles are top notch. The axle shaft is 0.050 longer for detailed tuning of your front end width. Plus the axle diameter is slightly oversized (0.005") so your 1/8" bearings fit super snug to remove any slop. The axles are heat treated and super hard (but not so hard as to be brittle) the rear is drilled and tapped for 4/40 set screws so you can lock them down to your king pin if you wish. You guys know me by now and it it isn't first class I won't release it.

Just posted them yesterday and 30 pair are out the the door already! Thanks to all who have ordered.

Next up will be our long king pin set then the return of our Ultimate Front End Kit when the springs get finalized. Plenty of stuff coming from RC4LESS in the next few months.

Thanks

Dem are som nice lookin axels dere, Okay, enough of the Cajun talk. Bruce, Whats the latest on the dirt wheels?

Since FOCAR has changed the touring oval rules this year to allow foams I'd expect to see some orange rims on top in this class too this year.

Huh? Running wheels designed for a dirt oval car on chassis that was designed for onroad racing in a Stock car bodied asphalt oval class?

You may also want top check the arbor somehow. I got a 1/12th scale arbor set and the part where the front wheel sits on the arbor wasn't true to the arbor centerline. Fortunately 1/12th and 1/10th fronts are the same bearing size and I just used my 1/10th arbor. It is possible to have a bad arbor.

And let me clarify that I am talking about COBRA brand arbors, since that is what the original poster asked about (even though this is an RC4Less thread).

Just wanted to say how awesome its been running RC4Less tires this year. At the begining of the year, Jim Glasgow and I were the only ones running the tire, but they were so awesome on the track that a whole lot of people have changed they're rim color to orange at our track. Also, they have started running them at Rain City, one of our other tracks nearby that has just got oval going. The tires are getting more and more popular in 1/12th scale and in Open Wheel Jalopy also. The quality of these tires is awesome. I raced 6 cell mod pan half the year with 9 turn motor and never chunked or split a rim. We're building a new dirt track this year, which should be one of the nicest tracks in the NW when we're done. I'm sure the New RC4Less dirt oval tires will work great there also. I look forward to trying them. Just gotta find myself a sprint car first!!! Or maybe borrow one!! Check out our club at.......

Its kind of a superstition for me, ever since I started racing oval in 1990 I have used autographics goodyear lettering on my tires. Basically you cut it out and have to stick it to an exacto knife and put a dab of super glue on it to get it to stick. I like the way the car looks with lettering, kind of like a real cup car.

Les thanks for the good words and your quite welcome for our small part in the puzzle. That sprinter looks pretty good. Too bad you let it go. Hopefully we'll have our dirt oval foams ready to release mid next month. The donuts are on the site and have been very well received.

Also another new product we have are parts cases. Many guys remember when these used to be available from Bolink and they were perfect for holding all your small parts, brushes, screws, nuts, brushes, etc. We have them in stock in two different versions. Check them out on the web site or email me for further details.

Thanks

Well guys,i gave the new RC4Less 1/8 stub axles a workout this weekend, and they are awesome!! Several board meetings with the right front rendered them still straight and true, and a dead-center hit on the LF showed no damage at all! Great bearing fit,and the price can't be beat! And how about those parts boxes? If you were never lucky enough to get one earlier, these are the ticket.

Just wanted to thank Bruce agian for the awesome tires. This past weekend at the Daytona Speedway spectacular 9 of 10 cars in both 1/12th 19t and 1/10th 19t ran orange. and in stock it was I think 7 of 10. and Orange took down the win in all 3 classes.

Right you are Dave. Congratulations to Mike Boylan for the TQ & Win in both 1/12 19-Mod and 1/10 19-Mod, Stephen Pedano bested his brother Tom (TQ) for the 1/10 Stock win and sources tell me that Ernie Bucci took the win in the Brushless A-Main. Out of the 40 cars in those 4 A-Mains 35 chose RC4LESS foam.

I think we did pretty good in the other classes Nitro, NASTRUCK & Novice but didn't get a count. But no matter what the tire congratulations to all the winners.

After talking to Mike Bean today it looks like the new race area was well received by everyone. Asphalt was much tighter and traction was way up and wear way down. Pitting in the pit stalls seemed like a great change. You didn't even need a generator or trailer or EAZY-UP. Good going Mike. I will be there next year for sure.

Hey almost forgot. Eric Salvas attended from CANADA!!!! He got a 3rd in 19-Mod. Now that is bringing them in from all over! Congrats Eric.

Rock, I think you have that backwards. That almost certainly would be a illhandling car. Almost everywhere, Three pinks and a purple are what's run. I personally use most times a Magenta LF, Purple RF, and Pink rears. I will run either a Magenta RR sometimes and even on the LR in stock class at really high bite tracks like Stricklands park.

Just to have all the bases covered you should just order up 5 pairs of all the compounds Bruce offers. Not only will you not need tires for a while but instantly you'll be Bruce's new best friend.

Rock, Dave is correct. Most start out with 3 pinks and a purple-RF. Also I would think about having a Magenta (40) for the LF and RR as tuning options if the bite is real high.

Scott, Rowdy & Wade, thanks for giving us a shot. Glad your results came out good. That Daytona race is a tough nut to crack for sure. Lots of great drivers always!

Try the standard three pinks and a purple even on carpet. If the car is still loose just put more weight on the left rear by tightening the right hand shock collar until the car drives the way you want it to.

Now I have a question, I'm trying to find a combination to work on a banked carpet track. In the past I ran TRC rubber, LF black, RF dbl blue, LR white, RR black.
