Does anybody know if they are going to have any Saturday night oval races this winter?

I talked with Scotty about this last year.It all about $.More people run off road on Saturdays than oval would draw.He's having the Leftover Classic oval race on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving for sure and talked about a 3 day race some time after New Years but no firm plans yet.

I just talked with Bill Sullivan,this is the word from Trackside.Oval racing will be every other Saturday starting on October 2.Doors will open at 9 with racing at noon or 1 pm.A good turn out for the program would be great as Scotty has moved the off road program to accomadate oval racing on the weekend.

Does Oshkosh run oval on any week nights ???

Friday night was perfect for me at Trackside -- it's gonna be harder for me to make the Saturday program -- but I'll be there whenever I can.

I was hoping maybe Oshkosh ran on some week night so I could run up there when I can't make the Saturday races.

OK Thanks -- that will work super... I'll probably wind up racing there quite a bit then. I would usually take Thursday afternoons off because I have so much vacation built up. Trackside was an hour drive for me and Oshkosh is only a little bit more -- maybe and hour and 3/4.

What time does the track open and what time does the racing start ?

saturday races at trackside? sounds GREAT! not sure about that Nats rumor, though...i heard another rumor that ROAR wanted some $$$ from Scotty to have it there. Anyone else know more about the nats possibly being at trackside?

I talked with Scotty at the Paved Oval Nats and he indicated that he might withdraw his bid for the nationals and just have his own special, maybe in February and save everyone some money.

I have to go along with Jeff on this one. Saturdays are hard to make ESPECIALLY during the day. Saturday nights would be a way better call if you wanted to do saturdays in my oppinion. What was wrong with fridays? Guess if I want to race I need to find out where the track is up in Oshkosh.

Fridays are real hard to make when you have to travel 5-6 hours. Can't afford to miss work.

It's my understanding that there will be NO oval racing on the weeks that they don't run on Saturday. It will ONLY be the 2 saturdays -- Friday nights are completely out.

Scotty's got to do what's best for the track and what will work for the most guys -- I'd much rather see the oval program continue on Saturdays (even if it's harder for me) -- than see oval die altogether at Trackside. It's probably the right thing for them to do.

I am sure the few that Scotty will loose by racing on Saturdays, should be picked up by those who can't make Friday's................I for one will be out on Saturday's..............sorry...........racing on Friday's worked for me, I work for "The Man" on Saturday's.......................such is life.

Mike -- turnout was pretty thin this past Sat.

Just a handful of guys each in cup, stock, and 19T -- it's probably just a bit early yet.

I don't think so but we'll see, but i know corey, dave hitz, and skomski are going to greenbay tues.

Had some great racing this past saturday. Mike Makus Tq'd 19 t with a 50/4:00, Jason Hack, Paul Shwaemback, and Hays Reeling JR, TJ Domark, Bill Sullivan all somewhere between 50/4:02-50/4:04. Makus had some trouble on the start which allowed Jason to take the lead and go on to win the main. Terry Warner tq'd stock with a 46/4:00. Mike Burbey was second, Hays SR third. Don't remember the rest or of qualifying but Terry went on to win with Hays SR and Burbey having a Close race for second. The old man got the best of him coming in second...... but waaaay behind Terry. There were 28 entries with 13 guys in 19 T, 9 in stock, and 6 in cup class. Great turnout for the second week. Next race date is Oct. 30th. See everyone then.

i had a great time with the older hays.. our last three runs were in 100ths of each other... with me out qualifying each time, but he got the best of me in the main.. man that guy is fast....

Anybody coming up to the Triclone next week?Also what's the word on the brushless class?Didn't see Corey's name,Makus was there and Corey wasn't that's a switch.Also I wanted to go to Indiana on the 6th but I have to go to a wedding.

my 12th scale needs parts.. i need an 12l3 toplate and cross brace. i thought i had two sets.. i gave dave hilpert them parts for an 12l3 i gave him.... now im sol lol.. ill see what i can do...

i belive 7 or 8 from what i heard.. just like outdoors.. the track will also be open fri night if u guys want to really tune them in... ill be there lol..duhhh

Hey -- anybody know if there will be a brushless class for the 2-day Leftover Classic at Trackside this year ??

I just finished bolting the new KSG together and I was thinking about putting brushless in it if there is going to be a class of them at that race.

Did they decide on the 4300 for brushless class ???

Track opens at noon racing at 2:30, I believe. It'll probably be a light turnout with people going to Indiana, but it's still better than sitting at home.

Pat - I'd really like to , but I need to stay here and get my new KSG finished. I have had zero time to work on it -- If I just lock myself in the shop for the weekend it should be done and ready to roll for the Leftover race. That's my plan anyway :-)

Im in for sure. Short of something happening car or electrics wise, Ill be running brushelss weekly and at the leftover.

OK -- Old man Hays is getting a 4300 motor for his rig, so I'll go ahead and get one for the Leftover race. That makes 4 of us so far.

Old man Hays already has his ready to go and will be running it the 13th if theres enough.......... I should have my other car together by the leftover race to race brushless also. That will be 5 atleast, and I know Bob Wright said he was interested also. So hopefully there will be enough for one full heat or so.

Last winter we rolled out the 4-mag binary stock motors at a buck-ninety-nine.

Anybody know what that 4300 turns for rpm ???

Hmmm... the 4-mag binary stocks were turning more than that. If that's the case, you'd need to go UP a couple teeth -- not down.

Have to see how they actually run.

I would gear up until the rev limiter kicks in then back off on the rollout until you stop bumping the limiter.The motor should have enough torque to pull any gear you put on it.

Or just put a temp gun on the speedo -- I guess it's not supposed to be run over 180 degrees. So throw gear at it until it starts to get to 180 :-)
