A friend of mine just got back from Graceland(for the umpteenth time) and informs me that Warner Bros. will release the remaininbg titles they have rights to on DVD in Januarary. This should included the Allied Artists one Tickle Me. After that the only one not on dvd will be Kid Galahad(UA). With the WB acquisition on MGM/UA almost a done deal maybe will get that one too, and not a letterbox version like MGM/UA would do.

And let's hope that WB takes full control of the library lock, stock and barrel and fires everybody at MGM's home video division. I don't want to see MGM operating as an autonomous division...they do some awful things to DVD.
I bought ONE MGM Elvis disc (FRANKIE AND JOHNNY) and, of course, it's non-anamorphic letterbox. It was letterboxed at 1.66 so I tolerated it based on MGM's policy of not enhancing any movies at 1.66. But I just refuse to buy CLAM BAKE or FOLLOW THAT DREAM. Non-anamorphic 'scope. Are these guys just plain stupid? It's 2004 for cryin'out loud.
The two worst DVD studios are Columbia and MGM. Columbia still releases pan-and-scam. MGM still releases unenhanced letterbox. Warner Brothers is among the very best studios. They aren't perfect but they are years ahead of MGM.
I just finished watching three of new Elvis discs from WB. Watched SPEEDWAY and IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLDS FAIR last week. Last night I watched SPIN OUT. They are just beautiful. All very clean prints with anamorphic transfers.

I'm trying to remember the name of the Elvis movie where he played the role of a photographer holding two jobs at once. One of the photographer jobs was of semi-nude women for a magazine while also taking photos of something else. All the while, he had this red head chasing after him. Anyone remember the title? I remember in the beginning of the movie, he drove a dune buggy.

Elvis ALWAYS had two jobs in his movies, unlike todays "lazy" actors Elvis was always a singer/race car driver or rodeo worker/singing waiter.
It's one of many reasons he was The King!

... he was even his own cousin in one movie. How easy can that be?

What was the name of the one where a woman drugged and kidnapped him? All I remember is that her dog hated him... Rover? Something dull like that...
