View Full Version : A Sad Day For A Lonfan... lonfan 08-26-2004, 10:02 AM Today in 1930 "The Man Of A Thousand Faces" passed away. Long Live The King! LONFAN PerfesserCoffee 08-26-2004, 11:46 AM Why don't you commemorate his birthday instead and then it can be a happy day! Remember his life, not his death. :) lecook 08-26-2004, 12:21 PM I don't know... If I was a serious fan of Lon Chaney, I'd probably celebrate both his birthday and his deathday* (I'm a Harry Potter fan, so shoot me :-) ). Watch a marathon of his films on both nights, and raise a toast during both, and I'd try to be fitting in the drunken toast on his deathday, something, like, "Raise a glass to Lon, he might be dead, but he's not really gone! And who among the dearly departed could portray, if need be, a more convincing zombie! WHO!?!", looking around daring all those in attendance to utter a discouraging word, then sways, "THAT'S RIGHT!!!", suppresses a beer hiccup, "NO ONE! So God bless's yah Lon!" (follow this with a group sing of "In Heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here!") *Deathday, is like an Irish wake held in anniversary. PerfesserCoffee 08-26-2004, 12:28 PM ^^Sounds like it's just a good excuse to drink beer! lonfan 08-26-2004, 01:24 PM Well I agree with you Lecook Although For Me It would have to be Soda! lol One nice thing is My Tenth Wedding Anniversary is on the 26th as well, AND I just HAPPEN to be workin' on that Screamin' "LON After Midnight" lol Hmmm Ya' know come to think of it ever since I started this one at the Begining of the week,I've felt as though my Paintbrush was leading ME! lol I guess I had better call Kolchack LOL One other thing, Have any of you ever herd the legend of a Ghost (Lon) that is rumored to lurk around that Famous Universal Studio's "Stage 18" the Huge Studio that houses the Original "Paris Operahouse" Set from the Orginal (Chaney Phantom Film?
