RYR28 07-10-2005, 03:00 PM Hi Guys...I was just wondering if you could post a good starting setup for a flat carpet track (snowbird dimensions.) I will be running 19T. Daryl Silva 07-11-2005, 10:09 AM RYR: Send me a PM so I can get a set-up to you. Daryl Silva RTOURANGEAU 07-11-2005, 04:43 PM Daryl, Could you put the setup for a flat Carpet track (snowbird dimensions) on here so everyone can see. Thank you, allot of people would probably benefit. Bob T dave w 1 07-11-2005, 04:46 PM Ive Got A Killer For Stock If Any One Wants It Thanks! RTOURANGEAU 07-12-2005, 03:15 PM absolutely erock1331 07-12-2005, 03:18 PM So what's the scoop on the new fronts springs: They available yet? What are the rates? How long and wide are they compared to a Wolfe spring? Can you use with Assoc 9110 kingpins with them or do you need the Longer Wolfe pins? RYR28 07-12-2005, 10:42 PM Hi Daryl...you've got a pm. Dave W...I would be glad to have your stock setup as well. Thanks, Chris lowdoughracer 07-13-2005, 12:24 AM hey evceryone, does anyone run a straight up rear pod on a banked carpet track or offset? jus was curous and figured i check on it. great looking car you guys. think i might save up the money for the conversion kit. thanks for any answers. ~Jake Feskanin~ Monti007 07-13-2005, 12:31 AM Erock the springs from what I know are still in the testing phase. Also of note Wolfe king pins are assocated part number 6226. Jake I would run an off set pod if I were running mod or 19t on a banked track. I feel in stock you can run either but probally be fast with stright up. -Monti- dave w 1 07-13-2005, 08:58 AM stock set up is coming erock1331 07-13-2005, 09:06 AM Erock the springs from what I know are still in the testing phase. Also of note Wolfe king pins are assocated part number 6226. thanks Monti, I didnt know that about the Assoc 6226. I typically use 9110's cause they are shorter and eliminates the need for all the shims. Also for me it seemed the 9110's always held up longer than Wolfe long pins if you decide to hit the wall. lowdoughracer 07-13-2005, 11:47 AM do you guys know if the pod on the new x-factor is straight up or offset? thanks for the help you guys. ~Jake Feskanin~ erock1331 07-13-2005, 12:20 PM Jake, Any pan car has the ability run straight up or offset. The Silva is a conversion kit, therefore you will need to supply the rear axle and hubs. So with that in mind: For offset you need the longer Right Rear drive hub and a 1/2" left side claming hub. For straight up pod you need the shorter Right rear drive hub and a 3/4" Left side clamping hub or use a 1/2" with some shims to get proper rear track width. Some of the newer cars, HD pro 3, The Edge, Custom works, all have the ability to offset the pod and/or the whole t-plate. The RIP solid car we are working on will that ability as well. Hope that helps lowdoughracer 07-13-2005, 12:32 PM eric, will offset still work in a stock car setup? so you do have to run different t-plates in straight up and offset? ~Jake Feskanin~ Monti007 07-13-2005, 12:43 PM When you off set the pod on the x-factor it still uses the same standard L4 t-plate. Erock yeah the 6226 king pins are junk. I have been useing king pins from Losi they 1.42 in length (I do not know the part number). They are stronger than 9110 and they are gold! -Monti- burbs 07-13-2005, 12:54 PM Monti then are the titanium nitride ones... Man i go down to indy a few times last year, then all of a suddon all the guys down there are using my secret kingpins... ha ha ha.. all i did was size them up with the kingpins i had... there 7 bucks a pair.. burbs 07-13-2005, 12:57 PM Jake, Any pan car has the ability run straight up or offset. The part number on the Losi pins are LOSA6089 dave w 1 07-14-2005, 02:04 PM Okay guys this is for 4 cell stock 1 i use the standard assoc king pins with wolfe springs i run a white on the left front and a white on the right front on my home track i run an orange with a little preload this is a very short track 64 laps in stock 2degrees caster on right front 0 on left. 2 I run the right front .25 back of the right  front 3 50 wt oil in center shock with a green associated spring addjust tension to get desired steering responce 35 wt in sides with a red wolfe on right and a gold on left stiff side to side i also use standoffs to make the shocks alittle more parellel too i think there trinity i do run offset pod 4 tires bsr green left front white with silver edge on right front white on inside rear and gray on right out side i run very little steering in the car also i have my electronics all up on the left front tire with the tray up 2 holes any question just ask! Daryl Silva 07-14-2005, 03:09 PM Dave, thanks for posting your set-up. I will have my snowbirds set-up posted tonight. Dave you stuff is going out today. Sorry for the delay. I was waiting for our revised front end springs. Daryl Silva Team Silva/Checkpoint dave w 1 07-14-2005, 03:27 PM no problem soryy not the best typer in the worl trying to do this at work John Card 07-14-2005, 04:53 PM What effect are you guys seeing by sliding the RF wheel back from the std position? Currently, I have mine set back about 1/8", but what will happen if I slide it more or less than that? I haven't really experimented with it yet, just copied a friends setup as a starting point. dave w 1 07-14-2005, 06:18 PM the car will rotate in most situations better kind of like a wip effect Monti007 07-14-2005, 11:14 PM John, the more you pull the right front back the more the car wants to turn into the corner. -Monti- rccarmaverick 07-15-2005, 10:54 PM What is the difference between the front springs DW gave me to use & the revised springs? Thanks. GM. GM_OVAL@YAHOO.COM Milky 07-23-2005, 11:46 PM Also for me it seemed the 9110's always held up longer than Wolfe long pins if you decide to hit the wall. Decide to hit the wall??LMFAO John Card 07-26-2005, 04:55 PM How many of you are using rear steer? I've been running it in the 0 position so far. What should I expect to change on the setup if I add rear steer? I'm thinking of trying the .015 slug for a small carpet track (135' run line) Thanks! rccarmaverick 07-26-2005, 09:34 PM The steering trim will be your major adjustment. I would put your normal set up on the car & tune from there. Daryl Silva 07-27-2005, 12:37 AM John Card: I ran the .015 at the snowbirds. It loosens the car up and gives it more initial turn in. I always run it but I like a loose car. Most people need to add left rear weight when they run it. You can also play with the front springs. Let me know if you have any more questions. DS SC/TC JohnJohn 08-25-2005, 10:23 PM What shocks should I use on my 1/12 scale? Running 19t on flat carpet. Thanks JJ Daryl Silva 08-26-2005, 03:15 PM JJ: You can run just our standard shock. Is it a 3 shock car? Daryl Silva SC/TC JohnJohn 08-26-2005, 09:49 PM Yes, 3 shock car. Thanks vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
