Jerry B. VooDoo Cells PErformance R/C microman14 07-30-2006, 11:28 PM i wasnt sure i just zipped tied it to the cross brace and put the switch on top the esc. Are u for real cause i read some people like yes u need it then one guy like no he doesnt so i need a lil help Monti007 07-31-2006, 10:23 AM Smoke I have no clue. Micro, all I can say is that I never run it and have never felt I was slow because of it. -Monti- scott law 07-31-2006, 10:44 AM I have only used the Cap on tracks where you are on and off the gas alot like short tracks. If you are struggling for space you can solder the cap to the battery and tape the cap to your pack. Just make sure have the polarity right. SL smokefan 07-31-2006, 11:06 AM Monti sure isn't slow so you can trust what he says. Guess I'll find out how the Tekin fits pretty soon. Hey Monti you running New Castle this winter? If you are I may have a few questions for ya. Jerry B. Voodoo Cells Performance R/C microman14 07-31-2006, 12:07 PM ok since i was able to snug it in there ill leave it for now cause some times i run on abig banked asphalt track like 315 driveline then sometimes i run on a lil carpet track with like a 60 driveline so i change tracks alot smokefan 08-02-2006, 02:42 AM Monti have ya run your Silva at the velo? The blacks are awesome in 19T! ToddFalkowski 10-04-2006, 07:00 PM Hello, Silva cars are coming- anyone have any suggestions for short, flat carpet tracks (about 120' centerline)- stock to 19turn? Appreciate any help you can offer.... microman14 10-04-2006, 09:55 PM ran mine on a super small 78 runline track love it run red front springs grey rear tires black left front and a green or grey left front.. copper or silver silva center spring ToddFalkowski 10-04-2006, 11:29 PM Are you running a stock center shock setup (L4-style) or an HPI with the KSG (seems to be the popular one) setup? I've seen a lot of guys running the HPI center shock with touring car springs (my old SB2 has that, which works well...) microman14 10-05-2006, 06:52 AM im running the the hpi center shock with 0-70 weight and number 2 piston ToddFalkowski 10-05-2006, 10:06 PM Thanks for the help! fla-racer57 10-26-2006, 09:50 AM I just got back into pan cars, I have the X-4. What Assortment of springs do i need, front, side and center. Any set-up tips would be great. most of the racing is on asphalt, but about 4 races a year on carpet Thanks Greg Monti007 10-26-2006, 11:05 PM I just got back into pan cars, I have the X-4. What Assortment of springs do i need, front, side and center. Any set-up tips would be great. most of the racing is on asphalt, but about 4 races a year on carpet Thanks Greg I just ran last weekend at a Focar race and I did not change anything major from my normal carpet set up. I ran gold lr spring, blur rr spring and a silva copper center spring. On carpet I just run a silva back center spring and keep the sides the same. In case the car is tight you might want to go up to a red and a gold for the rear shocks if the carpet bite gets high. In the front I always run two wolfe red springs. as for other tips always run the pod off set unless you run stock and then you can run it centered. Move the battery tray up three holes and leave it there, i never move it. Mount the wing to a protoform HD Monte body (I never run the Dodge). As for shock oil run 50 in the center and 35 in the sides (always associated oil). I hope this helps. -Monti- fla-racer57 10-26-2006, 11:19 PM Thanks Monti I dropped by the FOCAR race. That is one of the tracks i run, i also run Mike Boylan's track. And his indoor carpet races I don't know what center shock is! its not Assoc. or HPI Monti007 10-26-2006, 11:23 PM Well just so you know the differece an associated shock will make the car tighter in the center of the corner than a HPI shock. Tamayia makes a nice shock and that could be what you have. It will work like a HPI. -Monti- ToddFalkowski 10-27-2006, 09:21 AM Hey Monti... Gotta ask, why does the HPI shock loosen the car in the center of the corner? I currently run an HPI shock on my Silva car. I believe the type of shock can change the characteristics of the car, just curious as to how it changes the car... I'm also curious, as I've seen most guys run a blue RR / gold LR on carpet. I've run it, but for me, car always felt better (responsive) with the two golds. (We're talking a setup for 19turn/4300 brushless, and I like a very aggressive car- mine scares most) ANy particular reason many guys like the gold/blue combo- more to settle the car down? Run a different tire combo? Thanks Todd Monti007 10-27-2006, 10:33 AM Hey Monti... Gotta ask, why does the HPI shock loosen the car in the center of the corner? Run a different tire combo? Thanks Todd I can not tell you why or how the HPI shock does what it does just that testing always shows the same results. If I were to guess it has some thing to do with the way the HPI builds and it's rebound compared to an assocaited shock. I wish I had a better answer but I am not a shock expert, sorry. I need to talk to some one who works in NASCAR and knows about shocks and shock dynos. As for the side springs when you run a stiffer lr compared to rr sping it makes the car not want to transfer as much weight to the right front (car wants to run a bigger cricle). So when you go to a track that has a lot of bite it helps from traction rolling. This also makes the car a little tirghter which from your post you have noticed. Since I run Mod 95% of the time I tend to enter a corner a little fater than a stock or 19t car would and don't need to transfer so much weight. I still contend that you should split your springs but run a red LR and a gold RR. The reason being is that I fell it helps maintain better corner speed. One other factor you have to consider in all of this mess is that most tracks I run have a 16ft infield (Just like snowbirds) tracks that have a smaller in field (12ft or less) you would be more in cline to run stiffer springs side to side. Not to mention that this also has to do with the amount of bite the track has; if the bite is low than the opposite effect occurs. Let me know if this makes sense. -Monti- smokefan 10-27-2006, 12:33 PM Monti if you see D. Silva tell him to check his hotmail account LOL Thanks Jerry B. ToddFalkowski 10-27-2006, 05:09 PM Hey Monti... That does make sense. Would explain why I'm fast, but abusing the RF tire. More of the tracks I run on are "Martinsville" type, more like two dragstrips next to each other. I'll try the red/gold combo next time out. Certainly makes sense now... Thanks! BTW, I ditto Smokefan... Thanks for the support on a great car, guys! Monti007 10-28-2006, 09:29 PM Let me know how things go. -Monti- fla-racer57 10-29-2006, 09:18 PM Monti, Thanks for your help. First off i don't know what t-plate you run but i had a med steel that must of been bad because it broke on me today. I changed to the glass .063 plate. Your set-up would of worked IF the track had alot of bite. The track is rough also. But i can see how it could work on high bite carpet or asphalt,it does free up the car Your set-up the car bounced all over the track that along with no bite it was a mess I changed the car around to a soft set-up L/F spring standard white wolfe, R/F Progressive White Silver center spring,Olive color side springs I qualified 3rd and ran 2nd in the main Thanks again Greg Bill Johnson 10-29-2006, 10:04 PM Hey Greg, been doin' pretty good with "My" car I take it.......
