I remember Shazam, it was one of my favorites as a kid. I also rememeber Isis. Joanna Cameron looked very nice in her egyptian mini skirt. A Captain Marvel kit would be cool. On of my pending projects is to kitbash a Monogram/Aurora Superman into Captain Marvel.

Hopefully, one easily converted to his DK2 appearance... I *loved* the way they handled... well, I won't spoil it. If you've read DK2, you know what I mean. That's the way to handle it!

Nope, going for more of an Alex Ross look for CM. I read a friend's copy of DK2, so you think an older balding big red cheese.

TV Land showed around a dozen episodes of the Saturday morning Shazam show a couple of months ago on Friday nights. Boy did that bring back memories!!
Showed all the Electra Woman and Dyna girl eps as well. Dedra Hall wasnt hired for her acting ability.

Hehhehehhehehehe... I remember how much I looked foreward to Saturday mornings... now what do we got? Yu-Gi-Oh? UGH!

They did show Lidsville as well, about a dozen eps of that along with H.R. Puff n stuff as well as Sigmund.
I hadnt realized Butch Patrick played the kid in Lidsville. Great memories, bad show.
They showed one episode of Shazam that had Isis in it......oh man what a looker she was. Might still be as well.

She don't look bad in Roger Vadim's "Pretty Maids All in a Row" either. Nude ... if I remember correctly.

The BEST Captain Marvel Tom Tyler from 1941 "The Adventures of Captain Marvel" serial. Prehaps one of the best movie serials ever made.

Relatively, the serial had about 100 times the budget of the Saturday morning TV show. And yes, it was one of the best movie serials ever produced.

You remember correctly. That'll screw up those wholesome childhood memories.

Actually, I don't know why this movie has become so obscure over the years. It was a big budget early 70s "sex comedy thriller" (adapted for the screen by Gene Roddenberry!) starring Rock Hudson, Angie Dickenson, Telly Savalas, Roddy McDowell, James Doohan, and a lot of beautiful "starlets" including Ms. Cameron and my personal favorite early 70s starlet/sex kitten/hippie chick - Joy Bang!:hat: Most of the females show some skin - including Ms. Dickenson. Playboy magazine did a big pictorial on it at the time.

Hey now! Joy Bang was a SERIOUS ACTRESS, she was in a Woody Allen movie for gods sake!(She was Woody's date in "Play it Again Sam"). She only did those nudie space cadet roles to earn bread to support her craft!

BTW, her best was "Night of the Cobra Woman" imho!

Hopefully if the Movie is successful and it will be right up Polar lights alley to make a figure kit of Captain Marvel from the movie. Don't hold your breath. Captain Marvel is a DC/Warner Bros. character and they are being for whatever reason tight with the licensing. That is supposedly why the Wonder Woman repop P/L was planning on doing was cancelled.

Okay, the 1941 serial, did that also get spliced together with some other serials and redone with new dialog to become known as a spoof called "G Men Forever" and featuring Captain Marvel as "The Caped Madman?" I've heard about it, but I've never seen it. But there is a scene I have heard of involving Captain Marvel chucking an engine block at some bad guys that comes to mind.

Jay,
You're thinking of J-Men Forever. They spliced together scenes from old serials and dubbed in a new soundtrack. Captain Marvel as well as Captain America and Commado Cody and others were used to make this spoof. I believe Phil Proctor of the Firesign Theater was involved with this. Not sure, haven't seen it since the Eighties. Some funny stuff in there as I recall. Yes, Captain Marvel was called the Caped Madman. Can't recall what they renamed Capt. America and Commado Cody.
