BatFanMan 07-28-2004, 11:08 PM Hey, looks pretty cool!

phrankenstign 07-28-2004, 11:33 PM I didn't see Bat-Hound.....What gives?
dreamer 07-28-2004, 11:35 PM Damn, that looks good!
Zorro 07-29-2004, 12:38 AM I like it. Nice little teaser. Here's a good picture of the costume. Not all that different than the Burton version really.

Looks like it has Gary Oldman in it, so it has my vote.
MartinHatfield 07-29-2004, 09:36 AM Gary Oldman is playing Lt. James Gordon.
morbius 07-29-2004, 09:45 AM I must admit to being a bit apprehensive about seeing Batman Begins after the fiasco that was Batman and Robin (I saw it at the cinema twice - because A) I couldn't believe how bad it was and B) Alicia Silverstone's arse looks quite impressive on a big screen when encased in rubber!).
I'm still waiting for a big screen adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns
Zorro 07-29-2004, 10:18 AM I'm still waiting for a big screen adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns
"Batman Begins" largely references Frank Miller's "Batman: Year One", which fleshed out Batman's comic book origin in a much more satisfying and believable manner. I'd love to see a film version of Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" as well. Clint Eastwood would have been perfect for a film adaptation at the time that the graphic novel was first published.
morbius 07-29-2004, 10:26 AM If Batman Begins is based on any of Frank Miller's work then it'll definitely be worth seeing
MangoMan 07-29-2004, 10:39 AM I've been seeing Christian Bale around more and more. There was a movie on one of the pay channels recently with him called "Equilibrium". He was great in it, but the movie couldn't figure out if it wanted to be the Matrix or 1984, but did an OK job of being a little of both. If you happen to see it, check it out.
morbius 07-29-2004, 01:27 PM I really liked Christian Bale in American Psycho, even though it wasn't anything like the book (Necrophilia isn't a big ratings-grabber, apparently!)
Zorro 07-29-2004, 03:37 PM Bale is a damned talented actor. His portrayal in "American Psycho" blew me away - and that was a movie that I thought I would hate. He also played the juvenile lead in Spielberg's "Empire of The Sun" back in '87.
terryr 07-29-2004, 06:36 PM The guy is an Actor. Give him a script and he'll do it right.
First glance at the costume looked like a doberman. The cowl looks tall. Is there a crash helemt under there?
The Batman 07-29-2004, 11:52 PM First BIG mistake - that awful looking Batmobile. Get it outta there!
Second big mistake - again with the molded on muscles!
It should have a sleek, stealthy Batmobile, and a gray and black costume devoid of fake muscles.
Other than that, it's looking pretty promising. I hope they don't screw it up any worse.
