Did anyone else hear on the radio or TV that Paramount is remaking The Longest Yard? That's bad news already, but it was compounded by the fact that in the lead, they cast.......Adam Sandler. I just about lost my lunch right there in the front seat of my car.

I hope this was a cruel hoax designed to ruin my day. Has anyone else heard this terrible rumor?

No, but I'm not surprised. Adam Sandler's purpose in the world is to make the rest of us suffer.

It'll be a goofy comedic romp. Costarring Martin Lawrence and Dru Barrymore.

I guess I'm not bothered by this.

The brits already remade "The Longest Yard" a couple of years ago called "Mean Machine" with UK football in place of red, white and bruise football.
I guess it's a popular story.
A remake is made for whichever demographic fills the multiplex ... us old guys ain't it.
I don't really see how a remake impairs the original.
I grew up on and liked Jerry Lewis movies, so Sandler doesn't bother me.

Did anyone see "punch Drunk Love"? He could do serious parts if he wants to.

*Gag*
I'm sure there will be a spot for perpetual Goofball Rob Schneider.
Since Sandler can't fart without Schneider being there to smell it.

I just saw a poster for this at the theater. Adam Sandler is starring, and Burt Reynolds is in it also. Maybe a strange sequel or something?

I think you need to get in touch with how you really feel, Jimmy.

Couldn't have said it better myself! If Sandler and Schneider are joined by Norm MacDonald, then I'm taking the gas pipe.

If this doesn't bother you Steve, it maybe time to remove "CultTVman" from your name.

Aren't there any original stories to tell?

Yes there are original ideas still left to do but that would require actual thinking processes, something Hollywood doesnt seem to embrace too often.
