I'm proud to announce that RC Indycars will be the title sponsor for the Indycar Class at this years Velodrome Nationals. This is a way of saying thanks to all the RC Indycars owner/drivers that have been running out at the Velodrome all this year, once again setting new records. Oh and Yes you will still need to pay your entry fee to run the class. Good Luck and see you there!

Did you guys get a spot at the snowbirds for the F1 class?

I'm not going to be able to make it, wish I had more time available and the money to make the trek. I hope that you have a good showing and help with "Bringing back the F1/Indy class"!

4/20/2008 - Another good day of RC Indycar racing at the Indianapolis Major Taylor Velodrome (just a few miles from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway). RC Indycars chassis take the top 3 spots.

Next race is Saturday May 3, 2008 - less than 2 weeks away!!

I saw some of the decals Tim had at the track. They were very nice and would help add realism to a paint scheme.

I agree....I mean what would she have done if Ryan had climbed out and said bring it......

She was smart enough to leave her helmet on just in case though.

Sorry to barge in on this but, Here is the latest on the 2008 F1 Builders Cup. It looks like it will be held on September 20-21 at Primetime hobbies in Calhoun, Ga. At this time the builders class will be 4-cell only with mod motors. Andy Wallace will be getting magazine coverage together for this and will have his new Alpha F1's out there along with MLP, NIKKO, Corally,Hyperdrive,Tamiya, and hopefully RCIndycars represented in this 2nd annual race. Also there will be three F1 classes for the masses. 6-cell F1, 4-cell F1, and TCS spec F1 with Tamiya f103's only. Start making plans! More info to follow.

A change was made to the rules on the new spec class due to an oversite...my bad. The Spec class is not just for the F103. It is for all F1 cars that share parts with the Tamiya such as Cross, Duratrax,TRG, Zen and so forth. Silver can motors only with tamiya style wheels and tires.

So the Cosworth and C2 can be used for this class as well if they use the F103 or HPI front-end?!?

The intent for the spec class was for those with F103 wheels and tires because of the scale apperance and to prepare everyone for the upcoming TCS at Primetime. Now, since I am not the do-all info guy I would give Andy (alphacat) a call or drop him a line about that. He is pretty much the driving force behind this event. I know he would like to hear from you anyway since your name comes up at most any F1 conversation we have. He says he has about 60 old 103's that he is farming out to racers he knows to get the attention in the magazines. What a guy! He and I (and a few others) are building F1 into a mainstream class again so no matter what class you race RCIndy should be there putting the smack on these guys!
P.S. call Ned. Tell him to jump in the Scion and start heading this way.

Lates news. The spec clas will be 6 cell only, no LiPo. The new Tamiya F103RM is suposed to hit the shores next week. Looks like Serdar Aytimiz from Istanbul, Turkey will pilot one of the Alpha cars for the cup race. Very fast guy. We are working on having permanent turn marshals for this, I'll let everyone know. The awards for the Spring F1 series may be handed out during the cup race..unless everyone starts bugging me about it!:)

About halfway between Atlanta and Chattanooga, TN. Not even an hours drive from Atlanta. (Unless the construction comes back.)

Now, before you ask no we did not win. (MLP) We did our best.:cry:It is a team race and as I entered the track for the main for some strange reason my radio would not turn on at all so there went the team points and any chance of victory. We found out later it had blown an internal fuse. The other driver though took off like a land missle and had just taken the lead to prove the cars were here to win. One lap later he was swiped by one of the Cross cars (not intentional) and put into the wall. After digging him out he took off again and drove like he was possesed. Until a Tamiya T-boned him in a tight turn. Even with handling problems after he was hit he still threw down some fast laps to the end. A very good showing for a new car.

The results

1st Team Alpha

2nd Team Cross

3rd Team Tamiya

4th Team MLP

5th 6th and 7th was kind of strange. The hyperdrive team ( defending champions) could not attend since the team Captain has been undergoing treatment for a back injury.

Team CRC was headed for the track when they had a breakdown somewhere in middle Tennessee and had to be towed back home. These guys were very serious about racing for the cup.

Team Associated had to bow out because one of the drivers, a good friend of ours. Had surgery on his wrist and had not healed enough to even hold his radio yet. All of them called to apoligize for missing the race but we understand . I have no doubt they will be at the 2009 event. These guys are F1 fans all the way.

Congradulations to Team Alpha! They drove a very smooth and calculated race and it paid off for them as the 2008 F1 Builders Cup Champions with Andy Wallace- team Captain, Skip Starkey-driver, Serdar Atymiz- driver. Good job

Marty, great job on the V103!

I hope everyone is getting ready for the 2009 F1 Cup race!

Lot's and lot's of stuff going on this year for the F1 cup. The Builders Cup is now two races a year. One on carpet sposored by Alpha Managment and the other on asphalt sponsored by the 2009 F1 AllStar Tour. This year the Builders Cup (asphalt) will be again be in N.Ga location and date TBA. The Alpha Builders cup (carpet) will be in Madison, Wisconsin in the Fall date TBA. There are two drivers in Madison with Spitfires that said the would race them in the Alpha Cup but will step down if the RcIndy crew can make it up there for the race. Lot's of new clubs forming and racing out there. Let's make some laps!

Oh where has the time gone! My new years resolution was to get caught up on the Website pictures and updating the inventory and I've done neither!

I do now have for Spitfire Racers and there is a growing population out there...tell me about it! I have an adjustable shock tower for the side shocks. If you want one then email me through the website until I can get around to updating the website. Cost is $37.50 + shipping. Right now I have 2 in stock and more are on the way as well as more Spitfire chassis, word must have gotten out about these as they have been selling. The adjustable shock towers have 3 adjustment holes on each side and you can mount the shocks to the front or back. Also comes with a new rear wing mount. I'll try and get the website updated soon so that you can see for your self.

As always, thanks for support RC Indycars, but more importantly for supporting the Class!

I know it would look great when you update the website to have the 2009 Builders Cup right on the first page. Go get'em!

Will keep making them, sorry taking so long to come out with the SF-2, but it will be coming out likely before the end of the year...

Glad to see that even as a rookie that the car was easy to setup and be competitive! Keep up the racing and I will never pass up on the NAT's again for a reunion, I'm really kicking myself for that bad choice!
