I think Ricky, Franky and Mario are running it this Saturday. A little test and tune action before the Fall Classic.

Mod this weekend for sure, last year the record was 50 flat so we shall see if we can figure something out for this year's record.

Gonna be fun slipping and sliding this weekend with some horsepower.

See ya the 21st.

ah Jeff, you were supposed to keep it a secret, LOL
I kept my mouth shut like you had asked...........

Glad you guys can make it out.
I sent your dad a pretty throughout setup so ask him about it.
It looks like the big classes are going to be stock and mod. Some have mentioned dabbling in 19T. It seems each week someone else is building a Bombers car for the big race. That should be a crowd pleaser for sure. I have got some wrenching to do on mine, Herbbie whooped me last week.

erock,
If I may ask are your bomber set-ups close to your stock set-ups? & what type of roll-out are getting. Thank you.

Actually the Bomber's are tricky to get a hold of.
If you try and set them up like our pan cars, with having no rear downforce they tend to spin so we have all been putting some push in the car by stiffening up the front end and then just blipping the car in the turns the first 10-15 laps or so until the peak comes off the battery.

This is how my bombers car ended up Saturday, me and the guy that TQ'd both ran 37 laps. I think 38 is the record.

Woods X-15 chassis
LF
Purple spring
Purple tire

RF
Black spring
Red Tire (this helped put alot of push in the car)

Center-
Soft Graphite T-plate
Center shock - AE shock, #2 piston, 60 wt oil, Silva silver spring

LR
Silver spring
30 wt oil
TRC Green spec tire

RR
Blue spring
30 wt oil
TRC Green spec tire

Alot of Tweak on the LR, like 14 oz.

To be honest none of us have even calculated a rollout. We just hang the most gear you can on the car. Since you have to run a 120T spur, a 54 tooth pinion was the biggest gear I could get on the car, so that is what I ran.
The guys running the Hyperdrives that have more room have even put on 55 and 56T pinions and they are fast.

erock,
Thanks for the quick reply. I was wondering about that w/out the spoilers. We have a spec class during the winter - it's trinity spec motor & brushes, spec 6-cell packs, spec tires, any chassis & the body rule is allowed to be in 70's time frame (gives a few more options for some of the muscle cars) we allow rear spoilers.
Couple more quick things what brushes have been good in the specs? & also you don't have to run spec rears do you?
Thanks Again!

erock1331
08-17-2004, 02:24 PM
I wish we could run the 70's era bodies, that would be neat.
We are running the pre-1960's body rules. So everyone is pretty much just running the '55 Chevy or '56 Ford that Mcallister makes.
4 cell spec pack, 4 cell spec motor, open brush, open tires, 5" body rule.
We are keeping it pretty simple.

I dont know, Frank had one fast mod car for the ARCOR open as is always fast on the asphalt.

Can't wait to see this mod race. It's shaping up to be a good one.
Pete D has been on a hot streak. Ricky and Mario are always tough.
Maybe we can even get Tony to bring his son in law Blackstock again.
I wonder if Foister and Koback are coming...Anyone heard?

I am getting geared for the race. Days off work are allready set, hotel room booked. Will there be enough guys for 19turn or should I plan on stock or mod?

erock1331
08-27-2004, 12:21 PM
Jamie,
No one has ran 19T yet this year. I know a couple of the locals (Adam Liehr, Joel Biro maybe Dave Messenger) talked about running 19T but I haven't heard for sure. I know Stock from all the people I talked to will be the largest class. And the guys have been running mod so that class will be ran for sure. So to be on the safe side I would have either a stock or a mod in the box, whichever you prefer.

Dusty are you coming up, if so Stock or 19T for you?
Hope to see you Andy, Kenny, Shawn and the rest of you guys up here.
Always a good time racing with you guys.

Some people asked about the Binary (36 lamination stack, Quad magnet can) stock motors.
We pretty much followed ROAR/ARCOR on this one and as stated on the original race flyer the Binary (Quad magnet stock) motor will not be allowed for the big race.

Monsters and Epic Roar Stock (38 lamination stack, 2 magnet can) motors are legal.

No hybrids allowed.

I may be up,,,probaly won't decide until that week.No doubt if I do show it will be stock..I have no 19 turns or mods.....

As for the rest of the guys probaly not...doubt they will want to buy foams for that one race...but I will ask...would purple front green rear work?? That would save them some money..Finan has tires,,,maybe I will drag him up....

Me email is all whacked out,,,good call on those brushes...seem to only be good 1 run,,probaly 4383's

Later,,,Dusty Dean

Dusty
The Purple Fronts and Green rears have been working for me and Joel. Very similar to running Aqua rears.
We have both gone 42 with that combo. You just have to go a little stiffer on setup to free up the car but it will work. Tire wear is a bit greater but for one day of racing it will work.

Hope to see you guys.

Rocket, There are about four boxes of tires at Classic's with your name on them. Some of them have been there for over a year. I've been trying to get Walt to put them on the wall for sale! :p
