For someone who never raced sure knows alot of nothing about everything.
Classic hangover race gives more useful car stuff away.
Aaron, who runs a track for people to have a place to race , gives stuff away at the end of the season...

I met you at beaver last year with mike. Thanks, but why are you such a jerk? ;) I pick things up but never have time or money to get into the electric. Steel city has been giving generous stuff away at the md track and is doing more than anyone up here for rc.

Dinge and Snookie, please do not "buy into" the soaps again! LOL We have enough of that on TV and other threads.

Sunday should be an interesting day to say the least. Everyone is welcome to race at Steel City Hobbies Washington Mall Carpet track as this weekend is the last of the Points Fall Series. We will have trophies, free food coupons and even a few R/C parts to give away and even an autographed Steelers football for the overall fastest lap. We may have surprise visitors if we are extreamly lucky.

We will not be racing for the following two weekends until after the holidays. (Unless you want too during the week) It will be back to Saturdays for a few weeks before switching to Sundays at a different location (hopefully).
A tentitive schedule is posted on the website. http://www.steelcityhobbies.com/TrackInfoPA.shtml

Thanks to Rob for taking the pictures!
And thanks again to everyone who traveled so far for a good time!

DingBat or what ever you call yourself. I think you need to be taken out to the wood shed and given a lesson in respect. Snookie has forgotten more about RC racing than you will ever know ! I wish I could be at Arron's this week to see if you have enough b &^ls to show up and tell that to Snookies face. To the rest of you racers have a Happy Holiday.

Kaug and Snookie, C'mon. If you would actually show up and talk with some of the people, you might learn how genuine and human they really are. Unfortunately there are a few astray influential gems within the R/C “click”. The mall informed me today about your "big guy" friend on what his plans were and were uncomfortable with he being in the building again. ... And this info came from another true gentleman "down the hall” which I was not surprised to hear after I heard the whole story.

It would be nice if ALL racers come together, putting aside any rivalry for a good cause and raise money for the Washington County Food Bank.

Racing money and raffles will be held in addition to raise as much money as possible for the people who really need it. I hope and pray the "big guy" does not take away from this, as that seems to be on a determined agenda.

Raffles include:
Autographed Game ball by the Steelers
Steelers merchandise
SCH merchandise
R/C merchandise

Entry Fees and other donations will all go to the Washington County Food Bank. Please bring friends and family to help out!

Happy Holidays!

Lets put all theTRUE facts on the table,
Aaron's track always raced on Sunday (even during nascar/football season)
We were racing in the mall a full year before you though of moving in on the action.
As I remember, when you were looking for a location, you though the it was a dead mall.
This has nothing to do with your racrs. I know most of them, thier some great people.
Were are your racers going to race the next 2 weeks when your closed for the holidays?
When games go back to Sundays, you changing days again?
Who called the owner of the mall to shut down Aarons on Sunday? (an your friend called me childish)
MORE TRUTH TO FOLLOW (OR WILL YOU GET ME BANNED ON HOBBY TALK?)

Hi Snookie,

Thanks for bringing that up. I am not going to buy into the bantering back and forth on HobbyTalk. What you brought up would be only 1/2 of the "True" facts. I do not want to over-shadow the importance of tomorrows charity race, so I am including a link to a webpage expressing some facts to answer your concerns. ==> http://www.steelcityhobbies.com/SnookiesConcerns.shtml

The next two weeks we are not racing on weekends due to the Holidays. However we will race during the week if anyone wanted to get a gang together. I encourage SCH regulars to go to Aarons in the interim, as I have done in the past.

We take space at our new location on Monday after I look over a few details. YeeeHaaa. I hope by any playoff games we will be able to run on Saturday or Sundays (depending on the playoff schedule) at that location. The next point’s series will be a challenge in itself as SCH has two major events coming up.

The Sunday race is to include EVERYONE with an R/C car and to those who want to make the final points series race. With the circumstance of a few miss-informed racers, we up-converted Sunday's race into a charity race to benefit everyone in the Washington community.

Good luck to everyone and hope the snow holds off!

We have snow falling in the Western PA area. Some areas will get an inch or two, but the mountains and areas East and North are under a winter storm warning. Washington PA is “supposed” to get the least in the region so if anyone is going to brave the elements, we will be open and racing!

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/15301?lswe=15301&lwsa=WeatherLocalUndeclared

Happy Holidays to anyone who braves the elements and all those holiday shoppers!

Don't forget, we are raffling off some great stuff, from RC to Steelers SWAG such as authentic game balls and Hines Ward jerseys, etc. all to benefit Washington County Food Bank.

Happy Holidays!

(bash bash bash. I'm the good guy here. bash bash bash. We should stop all the bashing after I get the last word in. bash bash bash.) I have never seen or heard a bunch of grown men (if that is what you want to call yourselves) act in such a way about a hobby. I know most of the people in this are very serious about it and might consider it more than that. I dont mean to take from it like that but it is a hobby. I am not a die hard of the hobby. I enjoy it for the competition and the excitement amongst other things. Every track wants to get new racers. Now if they read these threads do you really think that is going to attract them to the hobby? I doubt it. What do you think all the others members of hobby talk think about us when they read these posts? I dont understand how anyone can give their OPINION about a track when they never race there. I know racers like to race at their "home" track. But that doesn't give you the right to put down another track. From my experience there are two-faced people who are posting on these threads. There are always going to be two-faced people though. I did't mean to offend any one in this. If I did i'm sorry and in another way maybe you deserved it. If anyone would like to respond to me personally please do or just talk to me I think most people know who I am. If not just ask.

Well, I do have to say I am impressed with the turnout today despite the snowy weather! I think the track had the 2nd highest occupancy in the mall (besides the church down the hall with the 1st), as there were not too many holiday shoppers braving the elements.
The raffle brought in over $500 bucks in just under 4 hours - on a snowy day. I just wanted to thank everyone who made the appearance, participated in the racing, in the raffle and to those who really wanted to make it but could not. The roads turned out to be very bad and there were several accidents. I hope everyone is safe and healthy.

For details on the final points race and on the charity, check out www.steelcityhobbies.com

Snookie, not to stir things up as well, SCH was supposed to be the "only" track in the mall after August 04. It seems that I have waived that back then per my conversation posted elseware... but we hope to be racing at the new facility by then with any luck. Keep posted to the website.

It is a sad sad time when people are so blinded by all the smoke getting blown up their A@#. I don't know if the people who have went to such great lengths to tear down, Mike and sch have even actually met the man or the rest of the crew. They are the nicest, and most helpful group I have had the pleasure to do business with, and befriend. I dealt with other stores, buy it and get on your way. Sch helped me learn, and enjoy a hobby I have grown to love. Mike started this to give the hobby something better, and I think he has. If you don't like him shut up, there are plenty of us who do, and respect him. So grow up get over it, Seek therapy if applicable or needed for comfort. Just get back to loving the hobby, after all that is what this forum is for. Admitting you need help is the first step to recovery.

I have not raced at ''my home track'' in quite awile. In fact I have been to 4 different tracks in the last 4 weeks. Thats how you grow as a driver.

Snookie I know people go to different tracks. I think that is a good point you made also about how it makes you grow as a driver. I think some people go to certain tracks to race because of their personal schedule and thats where they like to race. I have seen alot of people not go to a race because of the travel time. Which I can understand. I believe both ways are great. Just as long as people are racing.

hello. i have not been on this hobby talk site in months. i am amazed to see the wave of how cruel some of you are towards steel city track. from being an outsider not knowing anyone i can see a pattern of on line banter coming from one or a small group of people. i am glad to see that the steel city racers take this in stride as it is evident these people have nothing better to do? these are just my thoughts so you do not have to listen so dont comment back because i will not reply. i don't care that much.

but from what i can see it looks like this raceway guy from beaver could be the mastermind behind a lot of negative letters. being a free informative forum i gues you can write just about anything you want as long as you are not obscene. unfortunately innocent racers from all these tracks are becoming victims from the raceway person thru this site. who would want to get involved with this fun hobby after reading this childish behavior? (unless these are kids posting)
And for a charity last minute or not, to be put in harms way on this site is so low. steel city is good for rc with service and racing. i dont think these few bad people realize how lucky they are to have someone with good ideas, resources and ambition to put them together right there in your back yard. the owner can turn this off as fast as he turned it on. maybe that is what the spiteful a-holes want him to do. it is also clear that this someone or business lost out or made a bad business decision and now that things are loooking up, they are sorry and want revenge. my suggestions would be for that person, company or group to get a life and move on. don't try to ruin it for everyone because it is hard to destroy any good hearted group of people such as steel city. just imagine how much more fun you would have by building together something that will put pittsburgh on the map of rc. this may be your best shot. like i said this is my my opinion and do not reply just have fun as this is what this is really all about. peace

Hey, is what do you guys do to keep you battery packs from sliding around (side-to-side). I can't use the slotted side of the battery brace because of the shrink wrap and it wont site down in the grooves perfectly so there's alot of room for it to slide out of the side if it jerks that way while hitting something on that side during a race. I was thinking of putting velcro (or however it's spelt) on the battery brace and on top of the battery to hold it in, is there any other ways? THANKS

-Eric

Maxx, my boy Ray uses servo tape on the sides in the batt. tray. (leave the paper on the sides that touch the batt.) This will also help when you build your own batteries so the batt. bars don't touch the sides of the chassie...
