Snookie 11-03-2004, 07:54 PM Whats up with the big race this weekend I've been hearing about? Mike OBrian is in town this weekend , lookin to race somewhere... All you can eat Dinner for the Winner, sounds like he could be there. Mike@SteelCity 11-05-2004, 10:54 AM Everyone is welcome... all about fun... ...and about food this weekend I guess? LOL 4-Main winners will win ALL YOU CAN EAT at CiCi's just across the parking lot. 2-Main winners will win free food at the famous Shorty's Lunch down the hall. So if you like to eat, and you like to race, this may be the perfect fit! I actually got my XXX-S running... still have not driven it or tweaked it. But I got my XXX-T back together and am ready to be Rob fair n' square! The classes are growing by the week. Check out the points: http://www.steelcityhobbies.com/RaceResults/WashPA/PointsPA.htm We have raced over 10 classes now... but usually race 6 to 8 on any given weekend. Get to the track early to get your Pit space! And to get registered early because racing STARTS no later than 1PM! Whats up with the big race this weekend I've been hearing about? McSmooth 11-05-2004, 12:25 PM ..... highster 11-05-2004, 11:21 PM What would be the latest time I could show up and still get registered? You see I work until 11:00 am and I'm about 1 hour+ away, so i would get there sometime around 12:15 - 12:30. Could I still get in on the action??? RacewayJohn 11-05-2004, 11:23 PM Hey Mike, "Food for thought" funny!!! Just a quickie to tell people GO FOR CiCi's !!!! John @ The Raceway Mike@SteelCity 11-05-2004, 11:40 PM Yeah, Food for Thought... what next? Autographs of Steelers players were just so boring... so I figure...stuff your face! Thanks to everyone and hope everyone had fun! Lots of awards given out and here are the results: http://www.steelcityhobbies.com/RaceResults/WashPA/11.6.4/11.6.4.shtml Points: http://www.steelcityhobbies.com/RaceResults/WashPA/PointsPA.htm I actually finished more classes this week! And of course, beat Rob in Stadium Truck... finally! Mike martian 710 11-09-2004, 11:37 PM What are the rules for the stock mini-T class. Tires, ect? Mike@SteelCity 11-10-2004, 12:20 AM You must have a "stock" motor and that is about it. Tires - some run with 3, some with 4. But seriously, all we regulate for the "stock" class is a "stock" motor. Everything else is up to you. What are the rules for the stock mini-T class. Tires, ect? MaxxMadness 11-11-2004, 09:30 PM Mike, dont you think the stock Mini-T Oval should be 6 cells or less? Would make better neck-and-neck racing, i mean i dont really care, just a thought Maybe take a vote or something, lol -Eric McSmooth 11-12-2004, 01:03 PM ..... MaxxMadness 11-13-2004, 11:41 PM Had another fun day of racing today. Even though in the Mini-T Stock Oval Main I was racing with three wheels (popped turnbuckle :) ) and a snapped chassis (right under the steering servo) . I didn't know the chassis was snapped until i put it down on my pit table, then lifted it up later and the whole front end fell off, lol. Oh Well, thats racin. Got the parts to fix it. Cya guys next week!!!! -Eric Mike@SteelCity 11-14-2004, 07:44 PM Stock Class means stock class! I think the minimum "rule" should be a stock motor and limited to 6 cells. (non-lithium) I would hope the races are more than "self-policed" while I am out of town, but from this point forward, and future "seasons", everyone has to follow the rules that we have posted on the website. We have some basic rules posted on the website (under the General Notes to Racers), but we understand not everyone has Internet access. http://www.steelcityhobbies.com/TrackInfoPA.shtml We will print these out and post them in the near future for future reference track side. It seems that the "Mod" Mini-T classes have morphed into an "Unlimited" class. It can get crazy with all the competitiveness! Keep up the good racing! Mike McSmooth 11-15-2004, 10:50 AM ..... MaxxMadness 11-15-2004, 06:27 PM Can't wait till Christmas, im finally gonna get a sedan......*XXX-S Sport* hopefully, lol. I hope I can keep my mouth shut at home all the way up to Christmas, haha. I think i can manage -Eric Mike@SteelCity 11-16-2004, 12:17 AM Yeah, sounds good! We have a few XXX-S2's on order... We have only one or two XXX-S... unless you wanted to go Graphite. Let us know if we can help. Don't tell McSmooth you want a Losi! lol Can't wait till Christmas, im finally gonna get a sedan......*XXX-S Sport* hopefully, lol. I hope I can keep my mouth shut at home all the way up to Christmas, haha. I think i can manage -Eric McSmooth 11-16-2004, 10:10 AM ..... devildog 11-17-2004, 10:07 AM Seems like McSmooth is beating all the xxx-s with his tc3. highster 11-22-2004, 10:16 PM Are you guys racing this Sat.? Kevin Minster Mike@SteelCity 12-13-2004, 04:32 PM Al, Thanks for stopping in and bringing the gang with you! It was a lot of fun and hope to continue this type of racing anytime you can make it! Everyone at SCH (staff and racers) want to provide the best quality of racing from track conditions to atmosphere... and the Latrobe gang just added to it! 90% of it is just having good clean fun! Happy Holidays! Mike Well, so I sit here have my morning coffee killing a few minutes before I have to run my son to work at the local hobbies shop in town , thinking about my weekend of racing. I have to take my hat off to those that Steel City for a way cool day of racing at there track. Some may know I race at Latrobe and we had a small group of folks make the trip to see the gang at Steel City and try out there track. I must say I was concerned about what we would find with there current carpet. It was great we were able to stick just fine. The Staff and other racers were outstanding. They joked with us and made us feel welcome as if we were regulars there. Mike runs a great race. Mike and his staff were able to keep the races moving right along in a very timely manor. After talking with most of the guys we were with all of them enjoyed themselves and all want to plan another trip back. We had talked about maybe once a month running down there. Mike did a wonderful job with everything and the staff he had put up with us and was great with pointing us to the parts we needed and wanted in the store. If anyone is thinking of making the trip….Do it! We were pleasantly surprised at what we found and had a great time! Thanks guys at Steel City. I’ll be seeing ya again. Al  devildog 12-13-2004, 04:44 PM Had a great timne saturday. It was great having some new faces there to race. I hope you guys do make it back to race again. RcDinge 12-14-2004, 12:38 AM Rob, I see you are close to a clinch on the modified touring. since racing was finally moved to a sunday for a change I may actually show up. RcDinge 12-15-2004, 12:18 AM Maybe I wll drive mikes first. I have no clue. I should be there sunday. Sounds like a good time. Will any steeler players be there? I hear so many rumors about this rc stuff that I don't believe any of it, unless it comes from SCH. rcdinge what kind of car are you looking at getting? I hope you do make it sunday. McSmooth 12-15-2004, 09:17 AM ..... TRossiter 12-15-2004, 09:32 AM McSmooth is there a water proof ESC ? McSmooth 12-15-2004, 10:27 AM ..... RcDinge 12-15-2004, 09:00 PM Are you planning on getting an RTR, or do you already have a radio and speed control? Everyone runs the Losi or the Associated car, so there's plenty of help available for them. You can't go wrong with either choice. I don't know. Something cheap to get started. TRossiter 12-16-2004, 09:16 AM i never planed on driving it in a pool. just in the snow McSmooth 12-16-2004, 09:34 AM ..... McSmooth 12-16-2004, 09:35 AM i never planed on driving it in a pool. just in the snow Then the Quantum2 should work. You can always do things to take extra precautions, like wrapping it in a baggie or even making a lexan "cover" for it out of some scrap body material. TRossiter 12-16-2004, 10:07 AM for ur stadium truck class do u need foam tires or can u run the rubber ones McSmooth 12-16-2004, 10:20 AM ..... RcDinge 12-16-2004, 10:59 PM Looks like sunday is going to be a huge day. Trophies look great, so many. That is cool that sch gives out awards, something that other tracks do not do that often. Snookie 12-16-2004, 11:18 PM For someone who never raced sure knows alot of nothing about everything. Classic hangover race gives more useful car stuff away. Aaron, who runs a track for people to have a place to race , gives stuff away at the end of the season... Snookie 12-16-2004, 11:30 PM By the way, yes Aaron is RACING on Sunday. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
