How about this ? ....... we leave the points racing stuff in the FOCAR ranks, and we just have nice competitive "club" races @ Strickland and Hobbyworld for FUN and bragging rights....

see ya in Daytona

Rich

You know what? After several cups of coffee I started thinking, Man we could have track champions and he's the best here and that guy is the best at that track and then we could all invade the westcoast boyz and then yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah, Then it hit me. ???? Thats what the FOCARS deal was/is supposed to be all about. So let it be.

I agree with Rich. Lets just race with our friendly little rivalry and keep track of who's the kings at each respective track and have a huge time doing it. If too much emphasis is put on winning all the time things can and have gotten ugly before. Some people just don't know when to hush up and there are some mighty big ego's in this r/c racing stuff.

just in case phil owen has bought and paid for a P.O box here in daytona. he will be receiving all his mail at this new address.as will troy meredith , john hart and jerry parrott from georgia. so i have them all under contract to race for team daytona! looks like the roush stable just got bigger? this is in case you all get froggy...he he he

i hate when rich is right!

let me do this while were all fired up over the j ville /daytona death cage match!

i will have a team challenge to coincide with the focar series. here is how it will work

just like focars it will be required of you to run 4 of the 6 races at a min.
i will score the finishes of both pro stock and 19 turn, i will do this because those are the classes that you guys entered in last year. i will only score the finishes of the A main racers. all i will need from you guys is to tell me what side your on. either team daytona , team j ville, or team west coast. the winning team will get a focar cup to hold for a year. just like the americas cup! you only need to tell me once and i will score your points all year long. your points will be added up just like the focar points system. 1 point for TQ 100 points to the winner 99 second and so on. you all will likely forget about racing for your team during the year, but as it gets closer to the end i'll post up the team scores. west, north, central pick a location i'll do the rest. i think ronny can get the cup scribed with the winners names and date.

sound ok? no extra fees and no extra work for anyone... if phil, john, troy or jerry run the series they can pick any team they want to ....

i also do this for the father and son combo who gains the most points. only difference is i give the winners 2 tickets to islands of adventure.

also i know gas is at a all time high right now..all the focar races are on a saturday and my plan is to start later this year...the idea is to not make anyone get a hotel for friday night! spending less money is a good thing!

butts let go my ego bro! mmmm mmmm with maple syrup egos rock!

Darn it it's good to live in this area. There are some good people here and close by and everyday we're reminded of that. The hell with how r/c racin is done elsewhere. I like how it's done here. Nuff said and lets race.

I think we should flip a coin to see who gets to claim those Georgia boys. On any given day anyone of them can whip up on us.

Oh noooo! Are they thinking of forming Team Georgia?

Shumacher 99
03-17-2005, 08:34 AM
Team Georgia would be cool too..lol They can call themselves "team backwoods" Do we still get to keep Jerry P?????? Lets just have a draft of the Georgia guy's Jax is on the clock ....... Team Jax selects first round pick_____________

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kat don't forget the sunday after mikes oval race is the track meeting......the following is from the strickland website for those who havent seen or head about it:If there will be no participation in the upcoming association, you will not have a track to race on. Period. On Sunday, Apr 10, at 1 pm, at the meeting room at the gun range, we will hold the first meeting for incorporating an association at Strickland R/C Park. This meeting will discuss: bylaws, leadership structure, finances, etc. This will be your association and strength is in participation. Bring your ideas and experiences. If you race here and want to see the track expand, grow, and improve, the association will need you. Be there. The track will open for practice after the meeting.
I hope that ALL the people (locals atleast) who like to race at Strickland will be there. it is a great track and I want to keep racing there esp after next year when the gun range is gone and we will(hopefully) have more access to the track for practice and races. this is nothing against TQ. I personaly like racing there and the people associated with the track (sup iz, tim) but with the incresing gas prices and strickland being open for practice after the meeting i probably won't be making the trip. But I would like to thank them for the effort and hope they have a good turnout. and if you are a local and are planning on going to TQ please stop by for the meeting at least with TQ open till 12:30 at night for practice you will still have plenty of time to practice there. thanks, B

1) I nominate sheriff Mike President of the Association.

3) No more association meetings when NASCAR is on T.V.

4) Bulldoze the dirt track for more parking and permanent covered pits for the asphalt track. (dirt guys im kidding, dont send me hate mail)

I guess we cant have everything ......... lol. If we had a golf cart out there we'd have it doing wheelies and jumpin over stuff ....... lol.

Strickland is a great place to race both dirt and oval/onroad, So I plan on doing what I can to help keep it there. Sheriff Mike has done a wonderful job working with the county and keeping the track up to snuff ...... he needs some help.

Also thanks to Mike Bean, Curt and Mel for running the oval/on-road races .....we always have fun. THANKS !

I've never run dirt out there, but I hear the people who run the dirt races are doing a nice job as well .....

I agree on the fun part. Allthough I'm a little too far north to help with the running of the track I'll help if I can when there. It's not just a good place to race, It's and awesome place to race and whatever it takes to keep it so should be done.

I really wish we had a replica up here in Jax. complete with Sheriff Mike, Mike Bean, Curt Sanderson, Mel McCoy and all the others.

Me, Val and Jeremy are going ...who else from Jax is making that short drive???Tom & I are going. Not sure if I'll run 1/12 scale 19t or 1/10 stock. Depends on what the IRS 1/12 does Friday night. I just don't want to go down there w/an ill-handling 1/12 car (or driver!) & be the wreck. My confidence level on the 1/12 car is getting better, but not as good as my 1/10 car!

what I mean when you run with the same guys you get in a mind set of running with those cars and you guys were all about the same speed. then some faster guys showed up and it made you guys step up your game. I ain't saying you are guys were slow. it happened here Tom came and cleaned house and it forced the rest of us to work on our stuff and get faster. all and all it is a blast to run with you guys. the track is cool. on the motors i have always ran the ultrabird. but be warned I have some brushes that I am testing for a sponser so I am going to run a D5 in atleast one qualifier, but I'll put my bird in for the main

Good morning y'all. I want to thank all the nice racers who let me win yesterday. For reasons that most of you know by now I really needed to have a good time and I did just that and boy howdy did I ever.

I know it's beating a dead horse but you guys really have a good group of people down there. An excellent track, A beautiful parklike setting(duh maybe because it's in a park) and with all the gunfire it reminds me of the neiborhood I grew up in. Except we're not getting shot at at the track. The cheeseburgers are good too. Yuuuummmmmmyyyyyyy! burrp

The FOCARS race there should be a barn burner. Hmm? With only a few exceptions most of the guys were there lastnight. Hoo boy!

My cars are ready. Next time I leave the practice motors and batteries in the box and break out the good stuff. Oh yeah. I was running my good stuff. Well my good stuff is like everyone elses practice stuff so there.

That would make me third in 19t lastnight after leading for a couple of laps. That new car is a rocket and there were a lot of fast company behind the three of us. It's been a long time since I ran good enough to get on the stand with that bunch. I was actually a little nervous.:(

Well another one in the books and I had a great time once again. Butts finally came out of his shell and showed all of us he still has it and then some. Wins the stock a- man (with an angel on his shoulder) wreck free and then is one of only three drivers to run a 5.0 in 19 turn and I believe finished 3 rd in that A - main. I seem to have a problem staying out of someone else wrecks in the mains at that track. So my stock A-main again was not as good as it should have been with a 3rd (should have been 2nd focker). But I have no room to complain (or out of turn 4) with what kind of day My buddies Tom and Steve Pedano had. Both had fast cars all day and hit or got hit everything. Thanks again for putting up with all of us from Hacksonville.........
