View Full Version : MURDOCK R/C Q&A davepull 09-02-2005, 10:52 PM hey don't know if you seen it yet but trinity has released there new 12th scale car with an associated front end on it MURDOCKRC 09-22-2005, 11:26 PM Murdock R/C website is fully updated, with lower bearing prices, lower motor and armature prices as well as many new things that are being stocked this year. The second hand page is also updated with many New, coseout or great used stuff. With Carpet approaching soon Murdock R/C is also having it annual tire sale. $3 per pair off the normal price until at least Oct 1st. Murdock R/C wheels are the best available. Smaller (1.80in) lighter, lower roll center and in most cases they have been faster. Smaller rim means more life and more for your money. There is not a rim on the market that will match this one. More awesome announcements to come in the near future from Murdock R/C as well. STAY TUNED!!!!!!!!!;) MURDOCKRC@AOL.COM patcollins 09-23-2005, 12:02 AM Rob YGM MURDOCKRC 09-23-2005, 08:42 AM Right back at ya Pat. Rob MURDOCKRC 10-14-2005, 02:35 PM To the Top MURDOCKRC 10-14-2005, 05:35 PM Other new items that are now available at Murdock R/C. The famous Pivot ball tool for inserting and removing your front end pivot balls is now available through us for $8 each. One of the best tools to have in the pit box for front end work. A must really Pinion Pullers. Not something you will use every day but when you need it man are they handy. $8 each Stealth antennas. These are the triangle ones for under the body use. Very good for boosting reception from radio to rx because of the design. I have a ton of these Im going to blow out for $2 each Shur Lube is also soon to be available again and in new formulas. This is the very best stuff for king pins and damper tubes to get the suspension feel just right. I hoping that it will be available again in 3 weeks or so and I looking at at least 6 different thicknesses. MURDOCKRC@AOL.COM cb30 10-17-2005, 02:23 AM Robs' tires are awesome guys. You really should try some!!!! Rob SLOWPOKE 10-25-2005, 10:29 PM I have to add my thanks to Rob also for getting me in to a HyperDrive 700 and now a HD Pro3. With your help Rob I may need to change my screen name and drop the slowpoke. Thanks again for all your support. Jim Carson MURDOCKRC 10-25-2005, 10:53 PM Thanks a bunch Jim, it is my pleasure to help. We have been racing together for many many years and Im glad you like your cars. I kept seeing that yellow car in the corner of my eye last weekend. Keep up the great work and driving Rob BallisticBill 10-25-2005, 11:48 PM Jim, You're right. SLOWPOKE is not fitting for you anymore. Not after last weekend, that's for sure, and when your Pro 3 hits the track we all better look out. I have to thank Rob for helping me with my car also. He built it and set it up. All I do is drive it. My Pro 3 is one smooth unit to drive. I wish I could say I taught him everything he knows, but not in this department. Thanks Son, Your DAD Oh, buy the way, Jim, how does BallisticJim sound. MURDOCKRC 10-26-2005, 10:13 AM No problem Dad, Im glad to do it. Im getting real tired of looking in the rear view mirror and seeing that "Bad ass boy with bad ass toys" sticker though ;) Hey Jim, How about "JIMMY JETS" for a new name. Kinda fitting I think. Your in the air guard and your going fast. ;) Rob MURDOCKRC 11-04-2005, 01:41 AM foam bumpers now available. These are in a shape of a front bumper and blue in color. Very light weight easy to glue on and shape to fit your body. And yes, Blue is the only color at this time. $4.75 each MURDOCKRC 11-10-2005, 11:29 PM Shur lubes are just around the corner. If all stays on track they should be available in a week and a half. As mentioned before there will be 6 different ones now. The old #1 has been dropped but 3 others have been added. They will be in 1/2 once bottles as they were in the past with bolink. Rob @ Murdock R/C & Windtunnel Racing MURDOCKRC 11-21-2005, 11:24 PM Monday would appear to be the release day for the SHUR LUBE. We are finishing up getting color to them, labels done and Bottling them. They will be available in singles of each one or in Six packs of all six blends. This is one of the best tuning lubes for front ends or damper tubes there has ever been and we are hoping with the addition of the others they will become even more inportant tuning aides Rob @ Murdock R/C & Performance MURDOCKRC 11-23-2005, 10:00 AM Fresh load of IB 3800 packs are in stock. 1.20+ voltage $45 each plus shipping erock1331 11-23-2005, 11:37 AM Rob What happened to Sandhills. thought you were going ? MURDOCKRC 11-23-2005, 06:03 PM I was Erock and shur (get it) wish I could have made it but the two day deal at my local track threw a wrench in it and then bad weather on Tuesday wouldnt let us get out of here. Ill get there one of these days or maybe even classic sometime this winter. Congrats on a great run Rob Stroker Ace 11-25-2005, 07:28 PM In an attempt to get a full width Murdock tire to fit my Pro-3, I did some grinding on the left side of my upper and lower pod plates. That was almost enough but I had to put 2 additional 0.020 inch spacers behind the hub. I now have 5 - 0.020 inch spacers on the left side and 3 of them on the right side. In theory, what should the addition of 2 - 0.020 inch spacers do? On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being negligible and 10 being huge, how big should that change be? Thanks. Kenwood 11-25-2005, 09:09 PM FWIW I had to grind my pro3 rear pod graphite to get my rear width the way I wanted it too>>>JUst another BONUS of owning the pro 3.. I refer to it as a builders kit.. .040 will make a big difference in how the car handles...If you move the rear out .040 on a car that was "perfect" on a given track then the car will have a tendency to push out of the corners.. again that is assuming that all was perfect before.. MURDOCKRC 11-26-2005, 01:11 AM Not a big deal really. I ground my bottom plates back a little further but with any wheel that I have seen or tried you will still need around 40 to 60 thou in shims behind the narrow left hub to clear. It is just the design of the pod. It does matter on the shiming but really it comes down to the left rear tire position as a whole on the pod and where it lies in comparison to the left front in my opinion. I ran some mod a couple of weeks ago with this very same thing on my personal car and under no circumstances was this car going to be tight or was this a problem in any way. So in short, it is no big deal. Fire away if you need anymore help Rob @ Murdock R/C & Performance Stroker Ace 11-26-2005, 02:25 AM Thanks Kenwood and Rob. Mark S. MURDOCKRC 11-30-2005, 10:03 PM After enough request for them I will have 3/16x5/16 ceramic front wheel bearings in about two weeks. Price will be the same as the others @ $3.50ea and the ceramic kits will also be available with the 3/16 option. Thanks for your outstanding support everyone Rob @ Murdock R/C & Performance radioflyer 12-03-2005, 06:55 PM Rob, If I want to run the 4300 4 cell is there any advantage to the GTB speed controller vs. the SS? MURDOCKRC 12-04-2005, 12:14 AM Not much really going novak to novak. The GTB has better guts and a fan but other than that you will gain nothing in performance. The LRP Sphere is the way to go because the thermal cutoff is 240 degrees in comparison to the novaks at 160 degrees. Both will do brushed or brushless though. We have both in stock and the ultimate decision is yours. Rob @ Murdock R/C MURDOCKRC 12-12-2005, 12:43 PM 3/16x5/16 ceramic bearing are now in stock and also available in our ceramic bearing kits. Thanks everyone MURDOCKRC 12-14-2005, 11:47 PM Massive shipment of KSG shim kits are in stock. Perfect for getting that front end height in the correct position. These can be hard to get at times so get your now. $22.50 each Stroker Ace 12-18-2005, 12:19 AM What thicknesses are included in the KSG shim kit Rob? KOZ 12-18-2005, 04:29 AM .060,.070,.080,.090,.100 4 of ea. color MURDOCKRC 12-18-2005, 11:46 AM Thanks for filling that in Koz. Rob Robertw321 12-20-2005, 07:53 PM Hey Rob, Someone on here was looking for adjustable castor pins like Racetech made. Maybe an idea for a new product. I hate castor shims. MURDOCKRC 12-20-2005, 08:13 PM Bob, we have a ton of things on the burner right now. Cant go into much detail at this time but look for bunch of new things coming from Windtunnel Racing Products after the holidays. rjm70 12-22-2005, 02:02 PM Hey Rob glad you put the Sure Lube back out.
