View Full Version : MURDOCK R/C Q&A
rjm70 03-21-2005, 03:43 PM Well I tried to win another at Akron but the bug bite me on the A$$. I finished 3rd in the 1st won and won the 2nd one. I had a chance to win the over all but some lap traffic put an end to it. Lost both body screws in the front but was still able to pass a few cars to finish 2nd over all. Not to mention I was peaking my battery just mins b4 the last a main and my Q2 speedo fried. I had all of team Silva over there helping me change out the speedo. It only took about 2 mins not bad. How many guys would have stopped what they were doing to help. You talk about nerves. I was so stressed out. Than Ziggy says something about my 4 turn colbalt on the dyno and i just lose it. Thanks again guys I owe u all a beer. LOL!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Bob Wright 03-25-2005, 12:47 PM I talked with Rob about them last weekend, they're doing some test shots of the parts and then will be testing them. Also there are some aluminum caster blocks on the drawing board.Rob assured me that there is work in progress but nothing will be released until it's right.
MURDOCKRC 03-25-2005, 01:44 PM Front end parts for the MR/C front end are being shot but nothing will be on the market anytime soon. Myself and some others will be doing some testing and making adjustments if needed to ensure that everything is as correct as possible. So dont look for anything right away but the ball is rolling
Thanks, Rob @ Murdock R/C

MURDOCKRC 07-27-2005, 08:57 AM emails have been sent guys.
MURDOCKRC 07-29-2005, 07:49 PM Dear Murdock R/C customers. We have had some cases lately again of calls coming in and no messages being left nor have any emails been sent to us in regards to making orders. Myself and my staff are always available for you but in order for us to serve you, you must leave a message or email if we do not answer the phone right away. Do to the fact that we are still a "personal touch" business we would appreciate a message or an email before telling someone that you cant get in touch with us. When in fact if an email or message is left your call or email will always be returned. If for some reason it is not returned by the next day there could be a mis cue so dont be affraid to do a reminder. Thanks for your time and we appreciate your business
Rob @ Murdock R/C & Performance
Roadsplat 07-30-2005, 12:14 AM Rob's service has always been outstanding and he has always gotten back in touch with me when he was unable to answer the phone. Always great to talk to also. Keep up the great work.
Ray Clark
MURDOCKRC 07-30-2005, 12:30 AM Thanks Ray, it has always been a pleasure talking with you.
We really like the personal touch with eveyone. I feel that you can be much better informed of the products your buying and how to use them. I personally test new things all the time to make sure that what you buy is worth the money to your race program. I wont sell you something just to be making a sale. It is going to worth it to your race program or I wont sell it. With the personal touch on the phone or by email I can better explain why I think that is with many products on the market. Sure I dont sell as much as I could or as much as others on the market maybe but that is because what is there on the website will make your race program better or is just needed stuff to race that is proven to work. I sell what I sell for good reasons. Proven products, it just that simple. Fast oval cars come down to some simple basic things, build a car correctly, set up, tires(MR/C tires of course), HAVE FUN, and understanding what car wants. Much of this does not need to be purchased but learned. Surround your race program with solid equipment and work on those basics above and your race program will progress and be successfull. Dont fall into the number games and false hoods with products. MURDOCK R/C & PERFORMANCE has the "solid products" and knowledge to help you with all of these.
Rob
hyperdriver 07-30-2005, 05:09 PM Hey Rob Long time no talk. You have any of your 4 cells from last spring that you want to move?? I am looking for some more. I did like you said and made the other ones into 6 cells for off-road and they are killer. Would like to get some more for tc this fall. Give me a call when you can..
Thanks

MURDOCKRC 07-30-2005, 08:33 PM Hey Tim, I dont have any right now but will here shortly. I have some outdoor racing to do and another trip to Triclone yet and then Ill be parting with some to fresh'in up for the carpet season.
Rob
hyperdriver 07-31-2005, 01:42 AM Let me know when you have some...
FroBoy 07-31-2005, 08:51 PM Hey Rob, thanks for coming down and racing in the dirt today!!!
Hope you had a good time
Alex
MURDOCKRC 07-31-2005, 09:31 PM Glad to be there Alex, I had a great time. Little rusty with the offroad stuff but it was something different and I did have a good time. I think Ill stick with what I know best which is the oval for a full time deal though.
Rob
hyperdriver 08-01-2005, 09:00 PM Rob running dirt???? Should have been there...Maybe I would have given him a run for his money. You gonna make it back down again?
MURDOCKRC 08-01-2005, 10:22 PM Yes, yes I did the dirt thing. I dont know how much of that Ill be doing but I had fun anyway. I just had to do it.
hyperdriver 08-01-2005, 10:38 PM Well if you can make it back down that would be cool. I would love to get the chance to run in the dirt with ya. What were you running anyways?
MURDOCKRC 08-01-2005, 11:47 PM Ill see what I can do, my august is pretty full with oval racing. I ran my truck in 19 turn though.
Mayhem Racing 08-02-2005, 12:27 PM Rob are you heading to Marshalltown this weekend if so see ya there.
Shane
MURDOCKRC 08-02-2005, 06:18 PM That is the plan Shane. Glad to see you coming up. We always have a good time at M Town. Ill more than likely head over a little early on Friday to attempt to have a better car than last time. The brushless is a class Im having a hard time liking very much, so it is hard to get the ambition up to work on things when you not into the class. But in any event Ill have a good time. Its racing
Rob
Mayhem Racing 08-03-2005, 11:42 AM I hear ya Rob it will be my first time with a brushless spent an hour last night trying to make sure that brush/brushless esc was working correctly. And I get to Marshalltown once every three years so I have never done worth a crap there but I have a good time and thats why I go, Herd all the Omaha guys are coming and some others also should be a good weekend weather and racing wise. I am leaving at 4am Sat morning so should be thre around 7 or 8 so I can get as much practice as I can, see at the track... :dude:
Shane
MURDOCKRC 08-03-2005, 03:04 PM That track used to kick my tail too at one time. Ive run fairly well the last 3 years there though. I think if I were to pick something that I really didnt like about the brushless it would be the monster sized speed controls. Other than that it is a neat concept in racing. I really enjoy motor building still but everyone seems to be into the bl thing right now (around here) so we just have to go with the flowSee you there
hyperdriver 08-03-2005, 10:47 PM SO let me get this right, you are running brushless oval now?? What brand of controller are you using? If you can wait it out the GTB is from what I know its about the same size as the GTX. That what Im waiting on now. Gonna run it in my JRXS this fall. I also need a price on some tires for it. Also what width wheels do you use, or can I send you some of my old wheels to have new ones made
MURDOCKRC 08-03-2005, 11:00 PM The brushless thing is just to race. Im old school. I think motor building, car building, car tuning and driving are a package deal with racing. Brushless takes one of them away. It is neat but not something Im doing by choice really. That is not to say the bushless is a really bad thing, but. As for esc, Im running the novak ss+. They are huge compared to brushed esc's. GTB wont be out for a while yet it dont look like. The lrp is a bit smaller but still a tank.
hyperdriver 08-03-2005, 11:32 PM From what Tim down here has said, It should be out the end of this week. But who really knows. I dont think the LRP will ever be out
MURDOCKRC 08-04-2005, 12:23 AM The lrp is available but at last word the gtb is still a ways off.
hyperdriver 08-04-2005, 12:47 AM Really. I would go for the LRP but from what some people have said around here it has some problems. Oh well no brushless for me now anyway or racing alltogether for that matter. My wives car decided to crap out the 4wd over the weekend and the dealer says that it isnt covered under warranty so time to get here a new car. I see a 2005 Trailblazer in my near future. Almost had a F150 until she saw the fuel mileage.
davepull 08-04-2005, 01:36 AM any news on the frontend parts?
MURDOCKRC 08-04-2005, 10:59 AM Test runs were done with the front end but there has been a road block with it and it doesnt look good for bringing it back to you guys. Another company has claimed ownership which at this time will remain unnamed. Either way, they are now pretending to have uses for it. So in short, Ill leave it at that for now and aplogize to everyone that it cant be brought back at this time. I did try for us though.

Hope you can make it down soon

Rob if they don't have a patent on it screw them they can't stop you. even with a patent all you need to do is change 10% of the design and a patent is only good for 7 years then it's fair game.
MURDOCKRC 08-09-2005, 04:54 PM Thanks Shane, that sure was fun. A race like that I could have come in last and still smiled. Good clean racing.
As for the front end, it is not about a patent, it is about who owns the mold that is the problem. We will see how this all works out. If something changes that I will be able to do something I will be posting it here
