rockin_bob13 11-05-2004, 10:47 AM We got the track set up last night. Dang, it seems HUGE. Such wide, sweeping turns. Burbs, you bringing that Touring Oval car? We run 'em 6-cell stock. Stock car bodies with spoiler, 2" max, or touring bodies with their appropriate wings. Really looking foward to seeing all my friends again. I'll be down Friday night.
Jamie Hanson 11-05-2004, 12:15 PM Friday is here. I am not looking forward to the drive, but I can not wait to race tomorrow.
Monti007 11-08-2004, 12:03 AM To everyone that came this weekend I want to say thank you. I felt it was a great race and an awsome turn out. Congrats go out to all the winners and TQ's. I hope everyone made it home safe and I look forward to the next big race on the 11th and 12th of Dec.

j21moss 11-08-2004, 12:05 AM wondering minds wants to know who won???????
onefastdude 11-08-2004, 09:39 AM Had a terrific tyme as usual. I would like to THANK everyone for their help. Also would like to thank Burke and everyone involved with putting on this weekend event "Club Show". It was great to see everyone Racknor, Sully, Jason, Paul, Monti, Recio, Sonny, Dusty 1 and 2, Butch, Big John "the hacker" and all the rest. too many to mention.
Mark Recio 11-08-2004, 11:11 AM As a 'local', I'd like to thank Mangler's friends for being able to make the 1st Mangler Nationals a success. But behind every good race, there is an even better crew. Burkie, Butch, Chris, the Moose wait staff, and most importantly the announcer. I didn't really catch his name, but I have a strange urge to listen to a country station in New Castle now. Thanks a bunch guys!
For sure, I can tell you the following: Kevin Koback is back, and in good form. TQ'ing a deep field of open mod was no easy task. Kevin and Eli looked like the guys to beat going into the main, and after having to change tires due to a rim implosion, Eli was a bit apprehensive about his car. Once the mixing began, I mean, the tone sounded, a majority of the field found themselves almost a lap down to start. Kevin and Eli went at it for a minute or two, and Eli found a way around Koback's silver 24 and cruised to the checkers.
19-turn was a good race too as Dusty Kemp TQ'd over another good field. At the tone, it was Kemp in the lead and out of the 4th starting spot it was Dominic Reese right on his tail. The leaders were never more then 15-20 feet apart for the first three minutes. Near the end, Kemp stretched the lead a bit in traffic and took the victory.
Thanks to everyone who were able to attend, hope to see a lot of you back down for the December 11-12th race!
erock1331 11-08-2004, 11:11 AM Results posted anywhere?
jason crist 11-08-2004, 12:28 PM Here's some of the rest from what recall winners
i don't remeber the action as good as Mark
legends ...Butch Beebee
touring oval.......Butch Beebee
Bush ........ Butch Gillock (correct me if i'm wrong here)
4 cell stock.... Jason Crist
I can tell you that Dave W. and Rocky (?) where to two cars to beat.
I was sitting in 3rd with sec. to go (eating a Big Mac) when Dave and Rocky got caught up in a werck with slower traffic. So i put down the big mac and closed my eyes and took the lead and held off Rocky to finish first.
I'm not sure on the time but i think it was .0? that close.
I also would like to say thanks to the crew at New Castle for a great job running the program for such a big turn out.
The guy talking on the mic is Jeff Reynolds and you did a great job, One question for ya jeff what was the radio station you work for?
see ya later
and like Eli said it was great to see everyone again
and can't wait until next time.
jason crist

haysreeling 11-08-2004, 01:15 PM Don't know the order in the mains exactly but from what i remember this is how qualifying went:
Dusty Kemp 63/4:01
Corey Heft 63/4:02
Dominic Reese 62/4:00
Bill Sullivan 62/4:01
Hays Reeling 62/4:01
Jamie Hanson 62/4:03
Brent lane, B Mallicoat with fast 61 lap runs.
Kevin Koback 67/4:02
Eli Ezrow 67/4:03?
Monti Panzica 67/4:09.....heheheh
Paul Schwanbeck 66/4:00
Sonny Brown, and Zubak were 5th and 6th I believe with 66/4:02/3's.
Thats all I can remember, but a great day of racing and had alot of fun.

dwcnascar 11-08-2004, 01:27 PM I am just a newbie in the busch circuit, but was great pitting between Dugan and Zubak. I was a little slow but learning a lot. That was the first time I have seen mods on carpet and it was quite a show! Maybe in December I can run 4 cell stock with some of the big dogs.
Jamie Hanson 11-08-2004, 03:11 PM I just want to say thank you to all who helped put this on. Special thanks to Monti for being a mouth piece and getting the word out to everyone. I had an awesome time. As far as the track goes, I couldn't ask for anything more. Great racing, great people. I hope we do this again next year.
S Brown 11-08-2004, 06:43 PM Thanks to Burkie and crew for giving us a great place to race. Hope to see everyone come back in December for the Toys for Tots race.
Big thanks to Jeff for running such a smooth show. You did a great job.
c-ya in a couple of weeks.
