It will be big, fast, lots of room. Alot like Snowbirds Track. The driverstand is in place. They can have the track ready in a matter of a few hours. So SIMMER DOWN NOW ! See ya in a while. The fish are still biting.

It's all in those red rags. I pitted next to Brent and he gave me one. My slowest run ever gained another 2 seconds.

Any chance of getting a sneak peak some saturday before things start so we can practice?

Hey Mark, How you doin'? I saw Butch Monday. No definitive word I can give you yet. No, no place to practice early, yet. I'll post as soon as I hear anything. You coming to the Velo Nats? If you're just hangin' round maby you might spot for either me or my boy, Greg? We've got some real fast Indy's. Greg has the IFMAR record now, you know!

I just talked to Butch. Everything is looking good for the Moose Lodge. What's that, animal racing? He hopes to have things in line to make the announcement at the Velo Nats next weekend.

What day are you guys racing on and what is the start time? I am planning on putting a car together to race this winter.

I got a word from Butch last night. There was a question about being able to race at the Moose Lodge. The word from him says that it's a GO! He will make an announcement at the Velo Nats in terms of pending schedule.

I have sent some e-mails to the Webmaster of Race Streets site but haven't received any info. This is not a good way to build confidence in the track. I was told by Burkie weeks ago that everything was already set; now I hear there may have been a problem but it is OK. Not much assurance here. I am finishing several cars and would like to know what is going on especially what rules are being used. I know what Burkie said but want to be certain.
I don't want to build cars only to find out they are out of sync with rules.

Hopefully more to come soon.

Classes that have been running there are:Legend, Busch(6-cell spec). 4-cell stock, 4-cell 19T,4-cell mod, Indy 6-cell stock, 12th scale stock and mod. Busch, Legend, have been the bigger classes but this year I have a feeling that the 4 cell classes will pick up considerably. Jeff answers the web-site and he's definately not always on top of it. Build the car. It'll be alright.

Count me in for Busch and a possible Legends for my Son

08-26-2004, 04:58 PM
My biggest issue is Legends. I am building 6 of them. One for every body in the family. This started out as a class that was truly Spec; but no one will leave it alone. I understand that you can run any rear axle, bearings (front & rear), different front steering blocks, turnbuckes, Spec motore (any brush), spec tires, and spec 4 cell batt.

I wonder if we could get anyone interested in running a truly Spec Legend. Straight out of the box. No changes allowed. What do some of you think?

hydroracer

That is a problem that quite a few of us legends racers face, different rules at different tracks. You would figure that a "spec" class would have more uniform rules, but that isn't so, especially in Northern IN. We have found one set of rules that works fairly well at my home track. You run by all normal legends rules (tires, motor, gears, axles, bushings, etc) and the only exception is that you can run any 4-cell battery that you would like up to 2000. We were having problems finding spec 4-cell packs and most of us have 1700's or 2000's laying around. we just made some 4-cell packs and they are working great. Let me know what you think.

As advertised, Butch made the 'official' announcement this weekend at the Velo race. Doors will open at 2, racing at 7. The facility will be available for practice Thursday and Friday. The one thing I forgot to ask Butch was what tire compound(s) will be acceptable. Anyone able to get word to Butch on that question??

See you all the 11th.

A few of us from Michigan are interested in the race. Can we get some details and an address. Thanks!

Does anyone have an address for the new track? I haven't ran my pan car since HobbyTown closed down it's track. I'm REALLY wanting to shake the dust off of it and race it again!! ;)

**edited** OOOPPPSSS, guess someone already asked that question!

It's on New York St. Take SR 38 E to New Castle. At SR 3, go north. Looks like the first R you can make will be New York St. Turn R. It should be within that 1 block area. Moose Lodge. Look for the Moose would be the giveaway. Animal racing at its best!

what brand of 19T motors do you guys normally run? I'm looking to get into the 19T, 4-cell class and want to get a good motor off the start.

Thanks

Hydro,

Kisbey 19-turns are great. Check out AAA Model Hobby for a good deal. As far as brushes, you can't go too wrong with Trinity 4383's, they make good power, but you will have a shorter rebuild cycle. The Reedy 728 is an 'oval' brush, and is also very good. If you need any help tuning them, let me know, I'll be glad to help.

Thanks,

Mark

I am going there tonight, racing Saturday. I will attempt to make a few laps. Altough I have'nt touched my car since the last race last year, the shocks don't feel to gritty. And to this dragrace fellow I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. I called Butch and Burke told them they may want to make another trip down to the lumber store for material to reinforce the walls. LOL Just remember these words, "Go High"! See you guy's Saturday.
