Dusty you’re the man.
I had fun with the Blues Brothers to my right all night. I think I am done oval racing. I have been struggling for a long time and I can’t get the setup figured out. I’m going on-road racing this weekend to see if I can turn right any better than left.

Hey all, Sat. was a blast....it brought back so many memories....especially getting high on Paragon fumes on the way home. I missed it so much I almost bought a bottle for later enjoyment this week. It was good to see you all again...your just expensive friends. lol I spoke to Ned last night and the return of the "Legend" may be posponed for a couple more weeks. He has something stupid planned... I think he called it work??? Anyways, he's pumped up too. I will be in attendence this weekend and have not ruled our a possible ride. I hope to see everyone again Sat. Hey Dunn nobody likes a quiter. I haven't even got to beat on you yet. Turning right strongly impairs your common sense and driving ability. lol Hey Mark, are you up for a run to Denny's Sat. night?? I heard they have great food and I'll bring my bulletproof vest!!! Great job Sat. Dusty. You almost acted like you knew what your were doing!!! I'll give you a call later this week. Does anyone still have Puff Daddy's phone #?? I lost it in the haze last time I hung out in his garage. lol Peace out ya'll Matt

Hey guys,

Now that the Toys for Tots, and New Years races are over with, we can get back to this thread!

New Castle's next big race will be Saturday Jan. 15 at 4. It's a warmup race, and should draw a very good group of guys from all over. One of the last chances to get ready for FL!!!

See you there!

Stout Field is where it all started. To all you young bucks, Dan Laycock used to run the races out there on Fri. nights. We raced Hornets, Grass Hoppers, Big Bears, Blackfoots, Optimas, and then racing changed as we know it.....the first Associated RC10 was unveiled and the rest is history. We used to have women hand counting laps, the concrete gym wall was the backstretch wall and would take your right front clean off. We tried stupid stuff like using WD40 on our rubber tires, over charging our crappy stick packs on 15 min. Protech chargers with trickle. Running the same stick packs over and over because we were to lazy to pop off the plastic battery cover on the bottom of the car and undo the steller tamiya battery plugs. Oh yea, those were the good OLD days. We'd get out of there at like 2 or 3 Sat. morning. Enough of a history lesson.....things were a lot cheaper back then!! I'd even contemplate a return visit behind the wheel if Burke gets a deal done in Indy.

even Ronny Walls said he would even race at Stout Field... The way I look at it is you'll going to lose some people that raced at the Moose but I'll bet you'll gain more people by coming back to where it all began!!!!! and Matt as for that 10L,,yep I was there to see and also that's where the Lyxx II also was introduced there when they use to run the roadcourse there..and leaving at 2-3 o'clock....that was a normal night,,,now everybody whines and cries if we're there until midnight..but just think it frees our weekends up!!! but no matter what I'll be at either place..just got to get my Maverick together and be ready for the 1st race wherever that will be.... wabors

Matt, you're not that old are you? You must have been a kid back then. Danny Laycock used to give out some pretty serious trophys.

mGraves
08-22-2005, 08:11 PM
Nick......I'm getting OLD!!! I remember one night big Dan fired up his quarter scale in the gym. It was badass. I mean that was what 18 or 20 years ago. Way before the quarter scales of today. I remember my Dad racing a gold tub RC10. That was the car to beat when it came out. The only problem was that he couldn't drive it to save his life. I'd love to know how many times he broke the right front off on the concrete backstretch wall.
