I'm looking for tracks in South Western Pennsylvania to start racing at again.... I've been on a buying spree and now have built two Maverick '03 chassis' RC10L4 cars and I want to get back into racing. It's been years since I've run a pan car (early '90 w/ a RC10L) and I want to get back into this full swing. Can anyone help me out with where to run at and possible setups since these cars are far more advanced that the old RC10L I used to run.

Thanks in advace

You should check out www.steelcityhobbies.com as "we" are building 2 indoor tracks located in Washington PA. We will have a carpet track that will include both oval and road course. Also, we will have a dirt indoor track as well. Our shop (on location) is primarily a RC shop and all of this is under one roof... in the Washington Mall.
Please call or email if you have any questions.
Hope this helps.

Boy I'm glad I found this thread.
I am also returning to RC oval racing (from dirt oval kart racing).
It's nice to see a couple new tracks being built in Washington PA.
That's about 3/4 hour from me in eastern Ohio.
Can't wait to see them!!

The track in Beaver is no more. (too far anyway) WashPA is the only indoor carpet hopes at this point, but at least it will be easy to get too off of the 2 major interstates. Looking forward to some fun times.

If you guys want to travel a little farther west, theres a track that runs indoors during the winter in Wheeling wv.
Small carpet oval, track is run by Jim Fulton of Fultons Hobby in Wheeling.
And during the summer you can race at a (D) shaped paved oval in St. Clairsville Ohio.-Saturday nites under the lights.
If anyone would like info on these tracks fill free to e-mail me.

Hey don't forget the carpet oval all ready up and running in the same Washington Mall it's called Washingto RC Raceway and in the summer they are running on Friday evening and in the fall and winter on Sunday afternoons. The owners name is Arron Stimmell Jr and his phone number is 724-228-8396 he shares the same web site as Jim Fulton from Wheeling

www.fultonhobbies.com (http://www.fultonhobbies.com)

if you can't get ahold of Arron just give Jim a call ! He knows whats going on all over the east coast !

To shed some light on Oval (and road course) carpet racing in the Pittsburgh PA area...

River Junction is Closed for good. You can find Sam & John at the SCH in Wash PA.

Steel City Hobbies is building two indoor tracks in the Washington Mall. One is dirt off-road, and the other will be a hybrid track between Oval and Road course.

The On-Road carpet track is in a 9,000 SF ++ space so there is plenty of elbowroom. The carpet track will be operational in a few weeks as access to the huge space is just being granted this week for track construction.

The track down the hall is currently open on Fridays. We hope to combine efforts when the big SCH track opens so it will provide a fun schedule of daily usage of racing.

Check out www.steelcityhobbies.com for more information as it changes weekly.

You can also see drawings of proposed tracks, and you can submit one as well. Any comments or suggestions are encouraged!

Have fun!

Tom,

There is another track really close to you. It is located just outside of Latrobe, in Bradenville. It is called RC Ave. II.

you can find some info at this page,

If you need more detail, justpost on that page or e-mail me directly.

They are still racing through the summer. I will be going over Friday night. If you want I could even meet you somewhere and you could follow me.

Just come west on I-70. Get off at the US19 exit in Washington and head south. The Washington Mall is on your right. Store and track are located next to Rex TV & Appliance.

That's great!!!! I'm just getting back into oval racing after 13 years off.... I used to race in North Huntington at Hi Tec hobbies, then it closed :( I currently have a '04 Maverick with the rear pod and I have no clue where to start to look to get the best setup for it.... I'll have to get down there and get dialed in

Thank you for the information!!!!
