Eric team BSR Mr.fastman 11-07-2006, 12:51 AM Sounds like a good idea Eric. I ran green left sides a silver/gray RF and a gray/white RR. I used paragon on all four corners, 100% of each tire. The track conditions were very high bite, the most i've ever raced on. Doug P Team BSR jflack 11-07-2006, 12:57 AM LF- green LR- green (full tire) RF- Silver RR- Black 100% paragon on all tires. Too bad the car was awesome all weekend, TQ and track record. Doug p Fireball929 11-07-2006, 07:30 AM Eric how long did you let the suntan lotion sit for? Has St.Roch gotten more bite or less sense last year? Thanks, Fireball ericsalvas 11-07-2006, 08:29 AM 929...i first ran suntan when i raced last march at the Daytona spectacular...never tought that it would work that great...it was an asphalt surface(actually right on the pit surface of the speedway)...and we ran pinks purple....last april(couple of weeks later...we had our big race at St-Roch...my cars were great(noticeably my 19t...with green-white-grey-black combo)...so that day i decided to give suntan a try during practice...the car felt the same as paragon...wich i was using... last september we had our winter season opener...with new rules(no paragon)...so i went out with suntan (45fps...PABA free)...first application(10min)...then others are only a couple min....what i first notice was increase traction from the start(you don't get that oily feel when your wiping the foam surface...so increase traction right away...ALSO...what i feel is more important...suntan won't soften the foam like paragon would do...of course..if you ran a stiffer compound...paragon would have helped...but its no longer needed for suntan...and you get a more constant feel trough the day...as your foams won't soften troughout the day...what you would normally feel(tighter as teh race day goes on)...last year records at GRCSR.COM...were 3.86 laptime...73 5:00....guess what...i lowered the best lap down to 3.73...and i ran a 76 5:04 10 days ago...simply unreal...of course batteries were in for some gain...but not that much...i guess we should have tried it earlier...the good thing about it...is...if you go out with it...and doesn't feel that good...then your able to go back to what your used to run(paragon or TQ mod)...wich is not the case reverse...as the paragon or TQ would soften the foams...and modify your setup...Steve ran it at Marshall last october(TQ in 4cell stock)....BUT...that day(high bite track) i tried it in 19t...and it wasn't that good...and went to trinity zip grip(no paragon allowed) hope this helps Eric team BSR davepull 11-07-2006, 09:16 PM Hey guys just joined the team just wondering what everybody runs on flat asphalt. TeamGoodwrench 11-13-2006, 10:07 PM Hey guys -- ran 13.5 class this weekend and the car was really good, but it tightened up off the corner as the day wore on. I had this tire set up: LF = Green RF = Black LR = Pearl White RR = White/Grey What kind of tire change to give the car a little more steering off the corner ? Change LF ? Switch RF to grey/silver ? (I had the LR tucked all the way in against the pod). Tire wear was awesome -- started the day at 2.20 and finished all tires 2.18 - 2.19 (LR was 2.18). barnz2 11-13-2006, 10:13 PM I don't know for certain but I'd say the pearl white LR is what is making it tight off the corner. I'd try a regular white and see if that helps. Tim Barnes crisis641 11-13-2006, 10:14 PM try switching to a white LR or green, and running more sag in the LF spring philb1 11-13-2006, 10:15 PM Pearl white on my car would be way too stuck, depends on the setup tho.. Yes, 70/30 silver/grey Mr.fastman 11-13-2006, 10:22 PM The green or white LR should make the difference the pearl would be to tight on my car as well. Doug P TeamGoodwrench 11-13-2006, 11:49 PM try switching to a white LR or green, and running more sag in the LF spring Thx -- I've never tried a green LR. I had about 1/16" of sag in the LF spring, none in the RF -- green standard springs on both sides. JDW 11-14-2006, 12:14 AM How far have you guys trued BSRs down and been able to use them? I start mine at 2.24 and just retrued some to 2.105 Jake LARCGuy 11-14-2006, 06:05 AM How far have you guys trued BSRs down and been able to use them? I start mine at 2.24 and just retrued some to 2.105 Jake I ran mine in a main last weekend that were 2.09. I think that's as far as you'd ever want to take them. IMO davz 11-14-2006, 02:47 PM I guess it would depend on the class you're running. For 4300 bl, I dont run them again if they are 2.10 or smaller. For stock, you would probaly be OK at 2.09 for one more run. icenutz 11-14-2006, 06:01 PM Hello, Can you guys tell me what the equivalent compound would be in BSR if I was running Jaco Black, Blue, White, & Green? I have been reading through this thread and my head is spinning. lol Thanks Mr.fastman 11-14-2006, 06:11 PM icenutz - black should be real close between the two, same for the green, may also apply to the white not sure what the jaco white durometers at. Its had to say about the blue as there are hard and soft blues. What class and track type are you going to be running? I might be able to suggest a good starting setup as far as tires are concerned. Doug P Team BSR John Foister 11-15-2006, 12:23 AM Hello, Can you guys tell me what the equivalent compound would be in BSR if I was running Jaco Black, Blue, White, & Green? I have been reading through this thread and my head is spinning. lol Thanks As Doug posted all are real close with blue being the question. We have some blue currently we call soft blue that are a little firmer than black. We will soon have the firm blue back in stock in about 2 weeks. John Foister 11-15-2006, 12:25 AM I also would like to say good job guys on your race reports. Its had to say about the blue as there are hard and soft blues. What class and track type are you going to be running? I might be able to suggest a good starting setup as far as tires are concerned. Doug P Team BSR I have an Custom Works Slider. Track is flat looped carpet. Everyone is running firm blues on the RF. Anything softer on RF caused issues. With Jaco's I was running RF Blue, LF Black, RR white, LR green but was going to go softer on LR. I am not sure of the run line of the track. We are 19T fixed timing 4 cell. I was running 124 spur with a 36 pinion with tires cut to 2.25. My set up is not bad. I am running with the fast guys in regards to lap times but just making to many errors. Looking forward to trying some BSR's. I have great things about them including durablility. Thanks for all the help!! One more questions, what diameter do BSR tires come? Thanks! Mr.fastman 11-15-2006, 01:11 AM Icenutz - Sounds like your reasonably happy with the setup on your car. I'd go with the same compound BSR's and try a silver RF, I've run the silver on loop carpet and had very good results. Good luck, keep us informed on how things go. Doug P 3wideroberts 11-15-2006, 09:21 PM Icenutz you may want to try purple RF Grey LF Pinks in the rear. We have some new loop carpet at our track and it works pretty well If you want to try black or silver RF, Grey lF, Pearl LR White RR. Hope this helps. JDW 11-15-2006, 09:29 PM Thanks guys for the info on foam size.I run 13.5 and 4300 brushless I am having trouble with the 4300 on what compounds to run.I run a 135 foot runline on flat ozide carpet. I am going to try br=grey fr=silver grey fl=grey bl=white was running a white on the lf but wears way fast.
