Hi Jeff,

Really! I never experienced the Green to fade away toward the end of the run...

I'm using Paragon... might depends of the sauce you use :-)

Steve.
YIP!!!!! sure does, I noticed that also since I don't
(CAN'T) run Paragon anywhere anymore.......

Joe, try Trinity tire tweak! Its the best I have found for asphalt racing.

Tweak works well if you need alot of bite and like a lot of mess, hehe

I use Trinity Red Dot at our Asphalt track.
If the car is wicked loose try some SPF 45 sunblock, make sure its oilfree though

Hey Guy's could someone explane to me the differences in the bsr cap tire types like the net, EHW and pro lite? I am going to do some velodrome racing at Indy and have been out of it for awile so I have lost track on cap tire rating and types.

thanks

Jon,

For Velo racing you want EHW tires. I've never run the velo but I'm pretty sure Silver EHW's all the way around is what most use. Velo guys please correct me if i'm wrong..lol

Pro-lite= no kevlar net
Net= kevlar net (slightly firmer, most of us use Nets on the Right, Pro-lites on the left)
EHW= double kevlar net (considerably firmer, used at velo's for rolling resistance and they won't "balloon" and come apart at high speeds)

So I want to switch to BSR from Jaco. I am running on a Ozite flat track with about 145 foot center-line. I am (and everyone else) running
RF - Black
LF - Gray
RR - Gray
LR - White

The car seems like it needs to "Push" more to me. When I come out of the coners I almost have to turn to the right to make the car track down the strait correctly. Any suggestions? I am running the Spec class. Spec batteries, spec motor, and a Truck body.

hey john,

I finally had a chance to run the bsr black rears at knn, and let me say, they work awesome, blacks on the right side, greys on the left side, plenty of traction and no rolling friction, tq and win in stock. thanks for the great tires,

Just to let you know, I switched to BSR's this weekend, TQ'd and Won at Thunder Road in Gordonsville VA. I gained a full lap. Flat oval, running 70/30 gray/silver fronts, and white rears. Thanks for the great tires, and perfect rims!

John or Kevin, I have a questions about tire selection at the Indy Velo. Which capped tire do you think is better for that track - Silver EHW or Orange EHW for 6 cell stock/4 cell 19turn?

I've been running your newer tires and currently hold the ifmar and heads-up records in 6-cell stock Indycar, but I'm looking to break the 19 lap barrier for that class. Do you think I would gain anything going to Orange?

Another question I have is about tire prep. I've run once at the Midwest Tri-Clone and most of the guys were using some pretty nasty stuff to clean/prep the capped tires there. I know it is because the track is sealed asphalt and Wisconsin never gets super hot. What do you recommend for a high banked concrete track like the Indy Velo. I've personally been using a touring car rubber tire solution that I think has been working but wanted your opinion.

Thanks for the help and great tires.

Brian Smith.

I wish I could tell you one was better than the other but I have not done back to back runs on the clock to tell you one is better or both are the same. I switched to orange last year just so I could see. But having not tried silver again in a back to back test, I just don't know.

I have had the best success at indy with wd40 for tire prep. The other stuff works well on tracks with tighter corners that generate more friction on the tires and cause them to start rolling rubber or pushing the rubber to the left. You can use it at Indy and get the tires tacked up but they lose that tack after a couple laps due to the wide corner and smooth texture.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I might have to try the orange's and see if my lap times are better.

John and Monti what is your reason behind running "R"s at the velo? Is it just because of ride height? Just wondering because i thought about running L's so i didnt have to worry about the tires hitting the body.

I made the switch to BSR's about a month and a half ago. I've been faster on BSR's than on any other tire, thanks for a great product.

I do have one question I'd like some opinions on, I have been running 19 turn at K&N in Stafford Springs, Ct. I've been using a soft blue on the right front, but with the warm weather and humidity the right front is starting to dig into the carpet. I was thinking of trying to go to a silver in place of the blue, what should I expect to see between the two compounds? Thanks Bill B

Mr.fastman

The silver will have less bite than a soft blue.

Doug P

erock1331

The silver and black are close in firmness with the Silver having less bite.

The silver is softer by quite a few points compated to a soft blue.
Car will be way more agressive and turn on a dime with the Silver RF compared to a soft blue.

Maybe try a Purple/Blue or a Normal Blue.

John Foister

We have plenty of blue in the 50 to 55 range (BSR soft blue)available right now. The harder blues will be available soon as my supplier for that raw material is struggling with his raw materials.
