In 19 turn at the Ovalmasters I ran a Gray LF, Blue RF, White LR and a Gray RR. That combination worked the best for me.

Corey Heft

Were you running a KSG?

If so, offset pod straight up t-plate?

I need suggestions on tire compounds for 4300 brushless on a flat 135ft high bite track (Allen's in Rochester Il.) My car is fairly fast in the straight but I am losing alot in the corner. It is handling well but can't carry the speed. I am running a grey on the LF, a black on the RF, a white on the LR, and a grey on the RR. I have heard of some of the guys using greens on the left side front and rear. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Hey big mac - I've never run brushless but I've been told that 4300 is a bit faster than 4c stk, on a flat track that size I typically run greens on the left and a silver/gray rf and a gray/white rr. This should be at least a good starting point. Of course chassis setup is always a factor too, if you need any other help just ask.

02-22-2006, 12:10 AM
you got that right....

I've been running blk -rf, grey -lf, grey - rr and pearl or white lr (depends on track conditions).. thats in mod.... few of the guys i know running in stock and 19trn are running blk-rf, double grey or reg grey - lf, grey-rr and white or white/grey -lr...

Some thing to think about.... ... but what ever you use you can make work and just fine tune your chassis to it...

Using the color coding scheme, how do you distinguish between natural, exotic, etc types of foam?

Thanks,

so what tires are people going to use at the nationals next week in stock?

You mean at Classic?

Black LF
Blue RF
White LR (Grey if the track gains bite)
Grey RR (Black if the track gains bite)

That's what works for me

Adrian is dead on for Classic.

Other options that work well for stock for Classic are a Silver LF, slightly less bite than a Black and a touch firmer, good if your car is real agressive. Settles it down some.

Also I have had good luck running a White LR and Gold RR in stock.

For 19T
Adam Liehr has the track record with Black LF, Blue RF, White LR, Grey RR

For Mod
I would say Grey LF, Blue RF, Pearl LR, White or Grey RR depending on the bite

Typically Greens and Whites durometer the same.
I think Whites offer a bit more traction. Greens should free the car up a bit.

The greens also seem to fade toward the end of the run after the tire additive has worn away. The whites seem more consistant.

Other way around Eric.

The Green will allow more grip than White.

Rule of thumb...

On low bite tracks, go with...
Left Front: Green
Right Front: Gray
Left Rear: Green
Right Rear: White

On high bite tracks, go with...
Left Front: Green
Right Front: Black
Left Rear: White
Right Rear: White-Gray

Hi Jeff,

Really! I never experienced the Green to fade away toward the end of the run...

I'm using Paragon... might depends of the sauce you use :-)

Steve is it because John's Green is softer than his white that would make it bite more? Or are you saying its because the green is normal foam vs exotic foam?

i know back in the day before John took over BSR, at a big race when we used to use Paragon the track would lock down and everybody would switch to green and blue rears to free up the car. could be a banked track thing not sure.

A green 30 offers more grip than a white 30.

Once you start comparing softer green vs firmer white (vice versa) it's like throwing in variables in an already complex equation.

Next time you run on a worn out carpet (zero grip) compare both the green and white ... you'll get your answer :-)

John's green foam used to be firmer than whites ... that's probably what happened at that big race (guys going to firmer tires to "un-glue" the cars).

Steve.
