Krisfo 11-17-2005, 09:37 AM Hey Patrick....
Weather you know it or not.....which is obvious you don't.....John has the tendency to meet racers needs! If you ask him for something he usually delievers. Which means if we ask for BSR GOLD FRONT SPECS eventually he will make them!! I was asking for some information that really isn't on the website...thanks for that info.....but I want a little more in depth information than that....which BURBS understood what I was looking for, looked too and he didn't find it either.....Thanks you BURBS....
And Patrick....if I was in a hurry I wouldn't post it here I'd just call John or Kevin persoanlly at the shop!! Which is prolly what I will do......
KrisFo
erock1331 11-17-2005, 09:54 AM I'd like to know if BSR plans on making GOLD Spec Front tires available for purchase......and what the spec tires Duro out at??
What does a Gold compare to??? Siver????
Krisfo
A Gold is inbetween a grey and black in firmness, I would say 45-50 range.
Is most similar to an old BSR double blue. The Gold is more in the family of the green/blue foam, and has less wear than an exotic (white, grey, black).
I run a Gold on the RR on banked tracks. For fronts you dont see too many people running a Gold on the front.
The Silver is slightly firmer than a Black and has less bite than a black from my testing.
erock1331 11-17-2005, 09:56 AM Speaking of BSR and Tires, good luck to all the guys on BSR's this weekend at the Oval Masters at Sandhills. Can't wait to get there and do some banked track action !!!!!
Kevin Koback 11-18-2005, 01:28 AM Krisfo, probably won't see any new SPEC tire compounds anytime soon. The whole purpose of the SPEC tire is to simplify the class, and make it more cost effective, meaning you don't have 15 different compounds to choose from, or feel you HAVE TO HAVE to compete. We currently offer Green(soft), Silver(firm), and blue(Hard as a hockey puck) in fronts, which should suit the needs of any car at any track(flat or banked) for a SPEC class. If a racer is looking to "fine tune" with tires beyond the compounds offered, they should probably run a class with an open tire rule. However, in the future, if there becomes a supply issue with a compound, or something of that nature, we would consider it at that point. Hope this helps!!
Krisfo 11-18-2005, 04:07 AM Kevin....
Thanks for posting.....Gary at the shop must have told you that i had called and missed you both times. I appreciate the information......Good luck to all the BSR drivers attending the oval masters!!!

Todd Putnam 12-14-2005, 12:09 AM Special Thanks to John and Kevin for providing the tires I used to Win the EDM Stock Class at the Custom Works US Open Wheel Championships. If you are looking for killer foams mounted on Custom Works Wheels, look no further than BSR...
I used Dbl. Pink's in Mod and Silvers in stock...
Kevin Koback 12-14-2005, 12:50 AM Congrat's Todd!!! Looks like your win was just part of the great performance you had in all your classes.
NCFRC 12-15-2005, 03:25 PM Has anyone ever had good results running a purple on the RR on a flat carpet track ? Track has decent grip.
Car is very stable with a white LR / gray RR or both white/grays.
I was hopeing the purple would give us about the same grip but with less tire wear, roughly .040 in three 4 min heats.
Thanks for your feedback
tony 13 12-15-2005, 10:18 PM I have run a purple right rear with a stock car. I have found that a left rear purple combined with a right rear double pink works well in some cases. It free's the car up just enough if needed. I have also seen purple tires on the right front and rear with double pinks on the left front and rear work well in some carpet situations. You will never know if you dont try it. hope this helps
I must say that BSR tires rock. I have been using them now for 2 years and I have no complaints whatsoever. Good job guys

Congradulations Todd, thanks for choosing BSR for your tires, I am sure the horsepower was awesome as usual too!
Todd Putnam 12-17-2005, 10:58 PM ...Thanks John, but you can't fire a cannon from a canoe...
For anyone needing dirt oval tires, pick up some of BSR's Pinks, Dbl. Pinks and Silvers...only thing you need in your box...
karter93 12-27-2005, 08:33 PM I need a decent starting point for tires in 1/12 19t flat carpet. 160ft runline. 4c 19t
Danny B 12-27-2005, 09:25 PM three double pinks with a purple or purlpe/orange RF
hill jack 01-08-2006, 03:55 PM What is a good tire setup for 4cell stock?
John Foister 01-08-2006, 05:42 PM left front-pearl white, green, white or gray
right front-gray, gray/silver, black
left rear-pearl white, green, white
right rear-white, gray/white, gray, black
My current favorite is lf-white,rf-black,lr-pearl white,rr white....this is for 19 turn, I personally do not run stock. Maybe let us know where you race and some of the team can help you with a more specific selection. Good luck with your racin.
hill jack 01-08-2006, 06:42 PM Thanks John, I appreciate it I run at the Moose Lodge in New Castle, IN. I talked to Monte, he suggested maybe greens on the left and maybe a Black or gold on the rr. Dusty Kemp and Mark Recio have helped me alot also. Dusty gave me a gray/silver last night wouldnt let give him anything for it that was pretty cool of him I really apprecciated that and all the help those guys give me.
Mr.fastman 01-09-2006, 08:48 PM What is a good tire setup for 4cell stock?
What type of track? Flat carpet, Banked, etc..

Fl Flash 01-09-2006, 09:57 PM BSRs John your new BLACK compounds are great! Thanks
4 cell stock
lf gray, rf black, lr low traction white gray when more traction, rr gray low traction black when more traction.
This weekend I ran at Mike Boylans Indoor Carpet Shootout at Minnreg in Largo Florida. Flat track Snowbird size layout I think it might have been the same carpet? Ran a gray lf black rf gray lr and black rr tires were perfect!
Ran 3rd in stock a main better driver would have won :p
MK Race 01-09-2006, 09:57 PM Flat carpet
I run stock with 3 grays and RF black on flat carpet with good bite. I have run the gray/silver on the RF too. If there is high bite, I've run a full silver RF too.
John Foister 01-09-2006, 11:34 PM BSRs John your new BLACK compounds are great! Thanks

GILYHANTREE 01-10-2006, 12:26 AM I have been running on a 138foot flat carpet track that has one paperclip corner and the other is 5 feet across i ran grey-lf,black-rf, white-lr,grey-rr (BSR)i have just swithed from jaco's and at the track where i run i am fast in the practice but everbody seems to slow way down as the night goes we have about 50 entrys a week and the carpet seems to start balling up and seems that the car just gets tighter all night any ideas on other tire combo to use when the track changes
Mr.fastman 01-10-2006, 01:19 AM Flat carpet
I have had lots of luck with Green left side tires, a silver/gray RF, and a Gray white RR. I run this tire combination at most flat tracks.

chuck47 01-15-2006, 09:05 PM Tire question I'm running a gray on the Lf Black Rf white Lr and white Rr the car is scrubbing some as it speeds up a little when it hits the straight away I tried a silver gray on the Rf and it helped some any suggestions this is stock class
BrentP 01-15-2006, 09:55 PM Try a Gray or Gray/White on the RR. This will allow the LR to drive you off the corner more & help you with exit speed.

Leadfoot02 01-15-2006, 10:14 PM What is the difference in bite and tire wear between the green compound foams and the whites? I've run both but never known the difference. Thanks alot Michael Lively
Mr.fastman 01-15-2006, 10:41 PM What is the difference in bite and tire wear between the green compound foams and the whites? I've run both but never known the difference. Thanks alot Michael Lively
I run greens on the Left side at most flat tracks. They wear a little faster than exotic foams, so being on the left side all 4 tires usually wear at the same rate. The traction is very close to a white.
Doug P
what is the difference between a white and a pearl white
Monti007 01-16-2006, 10:43 PM A pearl white is softer than a normal white. The pearl has more bite than a normal white with higher wear.

Batman 01-17-2006, 09:02 PM Just wanted to thank Phil B for the bsr tires been out of racing for a while they helped me get right back up to speed.

Monti,
How do I get the knowledge you have? It boggles my mind.

ericsalvas 01-24-2006, 01:55 PM ...after talking to john yesterday...he's been running lately(19t) with LF white or pearl..Rf black..LR pearl and RR white...
if the track is REALLY tacky..a lot of bite...you could go a grade stiffer...like
LF white, black RF
LR white, grey RR
BUT...
after practicing my 19t last week..i think i'll go myself with pink-purple.....
LF 2bl pink,, RF purple
LR pink, RR 2bl pinks...car felt awesome with those...with these...a good cleaning is a must when traction..or bite..is extreme...
as far as stock goes...i'll be running my usual green lefts..RR white-grey(grey if tight)...RF blacks
hope this helps

cwinters 01-24-2006, 11:21 PM I am going to the 'birds, I will be running 4cell stock, and I was wondering if anyone has used BSR's on the CRC carpet before. I was hoping to get some tips on the types of tires I would need down there so that I could pre-buy.
Thanks for any help. It is much appreciated.

big mac 72 02-21-2006, 12:18 AM I need suggestions on tire compounds for 4300 brushless on a flat 135ft high bite track (Allen's in Rochester Il.) My car is fairly fast in the straight but I am losing alot in the corner. It is handling well but can't carry the speed. I am running a grey on the LF, a black on the RF, a white on the LR, and a grey on the RR. I have heard of some of the guys using greens on the left side front and rear. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!!!!
GILYHANTREE 02-21-2006, 12:31 AM could someone that runs at sandhills pm me what tires to run for stock and also 19t just want to take close to what i am going to need to use
Big Mac 72, Sonny Brown has his setup posted on the Oval Events Thread, about the Novak race.
hefty12 02-21-2006, 12:18 PM could someone that runs at sandhills pm me what tires to run for stock and also 19t just want to take close to what i am going to need to use
In 19 turn at the Ovalmasters I ran a Gray LF, Blue RF, White LR and a Gray RR. That combination worked the best for me.
