Jamie Hanson 06-19-2004, 01:43 AM Had to bring this back up. This could turn into a great race and want everyone to see it. Capped tires and FAST. Anyone know for sure yet? I plan on going. 19turn more than likely.
Jamie Hanson 06-20-2004, 07:25 PM Ok roll call. Mel, Jake, anyone?????? I can't wait.
Count me in. I've got 2 cars, and I think I have someone to run the other car, but It's about 50/50 on that. 19 turn of course.
Also, this is the last practice Tues night before the race. If you're planning on racing and haven't run on capped tires before, you should try to make it. We'll be there about 6:00 tomorrow.
Jamie Hanson 06-21-2004, 11:33 AM I should actully be there before that Dave. Maybe around 3 or so.
Cool man I'll see you there -
By the way, Greens and Blues seem to be the tires. I've tried a lot of other combinations.
Jamie Hanson 06-21-2004, 05:00 PM I have NO blues what so ever. TONS of Silvers but those are nto going to work there.
good luck, see you there tonight
Xpressman 06-22-2004, 04:19 PM Ok I won't beable to make it this weekend but I would like to know when the next one is, when practice is and how often, and any other details you want to share. Thanks
Brian
For the race Saturday, you don't have to have capped tires. Foams work well out there. For those of you that want to race, and don't have caps, bring your foams out there and race.
We had an awesome practice last night. Looks like Jamie got his car hooked up pretty good.
Looks like we're shooting for 6.4 sec laps in 19t. Maybe we'll get there Saturday.

BrianPractice is every tuesday eve.
Next race there will be the Region 5 Paved Oval Race ( TBA )(we hope)

www.funtymepark.com (http://www.funtymepark.com/)Yeah thats the place. Funtyme west. The track is behind the "can am karts" You need to drive into a field drive immedialtely east of Funtyme to get back there. You'll see where people have been driving.

And, no there is no power or tables
Xpressman 06-23-2004, 06:09 PM And, no there is no power or tables
Well that makes it difficult. hmmmm
Its really not that bad, lots of people have generators. I don't have one and I get by. For the practice nights, we can use the power, but for racig, theres only one outlet and I'm sure nick wont want us to use it he'll have the computer on it.

One outlet....I think we ran everyone off one outlet for the Summer Classic a few years ago. :D
Well since plans changed as long as my tires get here I will be there sat.
Jamie you ready for some fun? Oh I forgot you don't run mod....just messin bud.
Brian
Jamie Hanson 06-25-2004, 01:08 PM AHAHAHAH. Brian, Mod would be a riot out there. The track is huge. 19 turn alone is fast. The cars just WHINE down the back straight. It is a great sound. Need alny help with the car just ask.. The last turn is a hard one to get setup for. The cars love to push there.

I think I can figure out a setup. After all you only need to turn left. hahahaha All I need to figure out is power.
Xpressman 06-25-2004, 02:56 PM Also what type of ride height are we talking here? My tires just got here and I need to paint a body.
Brian, use the #3 rear ride height spacers and go from there. The track has a couple big bumps
Jamie Hanson 06-25-2004, 04:34 PM Brian, With S and L tires, I run the centered adjusters and one shim in the front end to lower it a hair. That may make it to low. I am thinking about taking mine out.
Well, the race went pretty well. We only had 6 cars, but I'm sure all 6 people had a blast. Thats the most pan cars we've had on that track in many years. Mark-I know youll get your car figured out next time, hopefully you had a good time. Thanks everyone for coming, and thanks Nick for giving us a chance to race out there.
My next question is whens the next race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to be there but I had to be somewhere else. I to would like to see another race there sometime this summer. Just don't make it Aug. 28 or the 29. I am thinking hard on going to the Indy Velo. Who won and who run good? Even if you didn't run good tell us what your car was doing. Later!
Jamie Hanson 06-28-2004, 02:51 AM Mel. Buddy, you missed a good time. It was a relaxing day of racing and talking. No rush. I wish more people would have shown up. Six cars is fun, but more would be a blast. We even had Brian from the Indiana show up to race for his first time on caps. He was FAST! If more people knew what the track was like, they would be there in a heartbeat. I think we did 36 laps in 4 minutes with 19 turns. Gives you an idea how large the track is.
The funny part is, practicing the past week a 6.6 lap was ballistic. 2 tenths were knocked off that on race day. EVERY type of car worked out there. Leading Edge, Associated, Hyperdrive, KSG, and a Woods X15. It was just really cool. Hope to see some of you there next time.
So, Nick when's the next race?
So, Nick when's the next race?
NTwigs 07-07-2004, 09:10 PM Hey Dave, I've be putting my efforts into the dirt track right now. Pick a date and give me a call at the shop.
Hey guys how about July 25th (Sunday) or August 1st (Sunday) Nick, Jamie, Mel, Brian, Mark, etc., etc., etc. How bout it??????
The 25th would be better for me, but it might be short notice.
I would race any one of those dates.
Xpressman 07-10-2004, 01:36 AM 25th works for me....I think I have my front tire problems worked out...key word I think.
Tell everyone you know this is a sweet track and a ton of fun....you really have to drive it.

Nick, does the 25th work for you??
Fred Knapp 07-12-2004, 02:35 PM The 25th could even work for me if I can get some parts for the car, Nick?
NTwigs 07-12-2004, 05:46 PM Dave, I think the Quarter Scales are running that Sunday there, at least according to the schedule. Also, I have a parking lot race scheduled that Sunday.
Fred, AAA Model ,just got those parts in last Wednesday. I should have them anytime. BTW- Mark's also waiting on the same part.

Bummer Dude, I don't know when then maybe August 21st????????
You guys tell me
Xpressman 07-13-2004, 02:04 PM I think Nick should get that big store that is on the otherside of the outlet mall and install a carpet track, oval track, and an offroad track all under one roof. I think that si the solution to all the problems. hehehehehehe
MKingsley 07-14-2004, 10:23 AM Last night Nick was supposed to post that the next Funtyme Race will be on Saturday July 24th because of conflicts with the 1/4 scale race and his parking lot races. He didn't so here it is. Hope that we can get more people than the last race but we have to start somewhere.
OK the 24th is fine with me, I'll be there.
Xpressman 07-14-2004, 05:58 PM Well I suppose I will make the journey. And I promise to run the heat gun off the main outlet. hehehehe
Xpressman 07-14-2004, 06:01 PM Also, I was looking through some real old "Starting Grid" magazines from the early early 90s and there was an article about the Funtyme track. And the place hasn't changed a bit and there was a side note saying that this would make for one of the best electric tracks around. And in a test session a 6-cell stock Woods XG-10 was doing about 32 laps.
Isn't that the magazine that was written by Mike Myers? That's probably about the last time there was races out there. I guess things have come a long way since the XG-10. I think we were up to 38 laps.
Again the race is July 24th , this Saturday, be there!
MKingsley 07-19-2004, 10:03 AM practice night is tomorrow - Tuesday - Dave And I will be there around 5 pm if anyone wants to get track time
MKingsley 07-20-2004, 07:03 AM ddddd
NTwigs 07-20-2004, 01:24 PM Oops, sorry guys, I was little wrapped up in a drama called MARS. I will be there on Saturday. Hopefully we can improve upon the last turnout!!!
Hope to see everyone out there Saturday!!
Nick
I will not be there Sat. Good Luck!
