There is not too many 1/12 hyperdrive guys on here....mostly 1/10...I have an 1/12 hyperdrive oval and just starting out. I've asked the same question on the track side of Hobby talk...Check out the Hobby World's thread travymoto1 posted a stepup but I believe he runs an AE. Not sure... I also found out a few more guys have 1/12 hyperdrive at HW. Also, I noticed you also posted at the Daytona Speedway race there is an warmup race at Strickland RC park with is at Ormond/Daytona Beach. There will be a few more guys with their 1/12 hd cars to pick their brains...Same guy running both events...

My bad travis didn't know it was a HD....mine hit the track for the first time today not bad without a wing but really needed one plus I'll have to try out the pink and purple tire combo...I basically used my HD 1/10 setup...

I've been running my 0700 with the long base something like 10.5" long with a truck body. It works great, but now I am doing something different and have a Bandit M/C body on it. I was wondering what would a short or medium wheel base would do? I run on a fairly flat asphault and slight banking in the turns. I am currently using the center locators.

I would start out with the middle mounting hole in the front and the short rear-end if your'e gonna run stock, about a 10 inch wheel base seems to work everywhere. If the track is real bumpy then you might want to lengthen it up to help get over the bump and keep it stable.I dont run a real short car unless it's very smooth and with real tight turns. I have a 2004 Ford Taurus and took it to the dealership and had the front end aligned. They did a partial alignment and called me and explained that they needed to adjust some sub-frame parts before they could complete the alignment. That about tripled the cost of the alignment. My question is, 'Is there such a thing as a partial alignment?' I later found out by a mechanic at that dealership that the frame adjustment was required to adjust either camber, caster or tow (I forget which one). It sounded like taurus hockey to me.

It was a shot in the dark but everyone has a car. The right thread is a Ford Dealership but well, I just don't trust them. They have different answers to the same question and it depends on where they've stung you along as to which answer they give you. For what it's worth they're Lone Star Ford in Houston but most likely all dealerships treat you like a non-thinking idiot and just want you to pay and leave.

Well you real took a shot in the dark but here is an answer.
Yes the car does have a sub frame that could need to be aligned and it can effect the caster or camber so they were not pulling your leg. As far as a partial alignment they probably just set the toe.

Yes Barry, are you going to make any rear top plate, like the pro3 to fit the older car like the 510, 700 and the pro2. I would like to but some of them and the left side pod for my cars.

Not to thread jump, but KGB use to make a top and bottom plate just like the new hyper ones.. they use hyperdrive old style pod plates, and they will line right up on any of the older hyper cars...

the bottom, plate allows the use of symetrical and offset t plates,

Pro 3 takes TQ and the win at K/N stockified race this past weekend. Only car in the house to run 52 laps in every qualfier and main.

10-24-2005, 09:09 AM
dang. 62. that is 9 laps better than their track record isnt it ?

10-24-2005, 09:13 AM
whew, i was gonna say, 62 would have put the Bat into cardiac arrest, lol

good job, i hear that track is tough to tame for out of towners

MIKE VALENTINE
10-24-2005, 10:32 AM
Eric I think he was in arrest. He didn't have the best luck, first heat was fast but a slight wreck cost him 1.3 seconds. then the second heat was fast but the guy that put his car down turned the receiver pack on that he doesn't use so it was dead, so the car shut off. third run was good but not as fast. and main he pushed for a few laps after changin tires, back to set he ran earlier. The track is vary differnt to run then all others i've been to, but I have to admit I'm a local that hardly ever races their. Track is only 1 hour away, but I find mysleve driving past it to go to tracks 3 hours away.

On the 6 cell chassis...will the front end be the same or will you be able to move one wheel front and back?

Bill Johnson
10-25-2005, 06:35 PM
Tommy, the 6 cell chassis is Identical to the "regular" solid chassis, but it just has two more slots on the left side (Pretty much like the Blue Car). It doesn't have the reciever pack, reciever, and transponder provisions in front of the Battery slots..............

Tommy if you need to slide the front end around, give Barry a call. He has bolt on pieces to do that.

what tuning advantage does the offset tplate offer and could you use it with off set pod? just a question that on my mind ....any help would be apperciated

MIKE VALENTINE
11-08-2005, 09:07 AM
smokey, you can offset the t-plate, and still run offset pod.

Kenwood
11-08-2005, 10:00 AM
We have 1 guy that does that in 19T.. His is fast... but personally I dont like the feel of the car...The car does not want to come out of the turns on its own...I tried that setup on my aggressor and you really had to wheel the car to the right portion of te track... the guy withhis pro3 set that way says the same thing..his likes the infield.. But again His pro3 is holding more speed through the corner than my pro3 is with a straight up t-plate and off center pod...

MIKE VALENTINE
11-08-2005, 12:13 PM
If the car wants to oversteer on exit. It's normaly and side affect of to more left side weight, or a bad servo/servo saver.

Jim, the ones one my car are Losi. A pic is in my gallery. The ones on the shocks are Losi, the others on the front are dyed RPMs. I got the the Losi's from my LHS. They came in a pack of 12 long and 4 short. I haven't found anywhere on the web that has them but I can check back at the LHS and get you some if you want me to. I'll be at Summit on the 26th. Here is a link to GS Racing that also has red ball cup.

i had the losi ones on mine. to me they didnt look right.. almost to much red on the car.. the GS ones are nice, but you have to use there ball studds..

yokman
11-14-2005, 08:28 AM
i seen the GS ones yesterday at HT and they look pretty kool.but as burds said, you have to use there ball studs and the ball studs look a little bigger.i run the red losi ones on my offroad truck and they work fine so i wouldnt see a problem with them on a pan car.

jim-hows that motor coming out????
