Barry, I tell ya what would make me happy, short of impounding ALL radios at ALL races, would be to buy Hyperdrive front bumpers by the lot! LOL You're a good man, Barry and thanks for turning out a quality product! OHHH, I know what I need! Either a front bumper like they run on those fighting robots or one made of solid steel! Maybe an new production idea? LOL

I've got a weird (weird for me) problem. To get my toe set correctly, I've managed to completely bottom out the adjustment on the rf which in turn has left my rf arm sitting cockeyed. And on the lf, the thing is adjusted so far out that the ball cups are barely hanging on. So no doubt, my caster is probably something stupid. But I'm not sure how to correct it.

Hey Lisa,

I do not think you have your servo mounted properly. I have posted some pics of how we install the servo to give you an idea of the tie rod angle and such.

Question, I have the finishline spring steel t-plate w/ the short arms on the back of the plate . How is this t-plate mounted? there is a real short arm on one side and a little bit longer arm on the other. (this is the offset plate). dose the longer arm go to the left of the car or theright of the car?

20TN40
06-23-2004, 05:32 AM
Tony, that looks like the way I have mine mounted.......but I'll take another look tomorrow and see if maybe something is wrong. Could be.....someone turned a radio on and I'm lucky to still have a chassis in one piece!

Hey Lisa,

One thing to remember when installing your servo is to make sure the servo saver is lined up with the 3rd body mount hole in the chassis. If this is done then your tie rods should be really close. Also make sure the servo saver is straight/up and down. If the servo or servo saver are not straight then that may lead to you tie rod problems. If you run a split caster (4 RF and 2 LF) the right side tie rod will always be just a tick longer. The more caster you run the more toe out will increase. So you will have to re-adjust your toe.

If you have any other questions just holla'.....................

Hey BigDog,

If the t-plate has 2 short arms then the shorter side goes to the right if you are looking at the pod from the top. The longer of the 2 on the left and the shorter on right.

I have enclosed some pics for you.

Tony,

Gotta an idea for ya,with these pinions so big now we need a pinion caddy for them,LOL.

The Kyosho is the best case I have found to store pinions.
Then just get a small black marker and you can write the gear numbers below the pinions.

Take a look at the pic, its the one on the bottom left, holds 23 pinions.
I believe sizes 28 - 50 in PRS pinions.

Hey Dave - I don't run any 1/12 scale. I would suggest you email Barry on the Hyperdrive sight and he could point you to one of the guys that runs 1/12 scale. I wish I could be of more help. Just not that much of the little ones being run in my area. Didn't want you to keep hearing your own echo.

I just picked up a PRO 2 Shorty and a 700 EASE. I'm ready to start painting some bodies, before doing so wanted to know what wheel base any of you use for Stock/19T flat carpet oval racing (I run tracks usually a little smaller than Snowbirds)?. My old chassis I ran about 10.5".

Do most of you deliberately mount your bodies forward or towards the back to adjust downforce on the front wheels or pretty much use the body template for the front wheel placement?
Thx
Tom

Can someone explain when to use the three different front end plates.
Outer, Middle and Inner? Do you ever use different ones? Meaning Middle and inner, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Can someone explain when to use the three different front end plates.
Outer, Middle and Inner? Do you ever use different ones? Meaning Middle and inner, etc.

Thanks in advance As a general rule the wider the front end is the less steering the car will have and vice versa the narrower it will tend to have more steering. It has to do with the leverage over the weight mainly the battery. Using different width locaters on each side skews the the results. For instance if you were to place the left front at its outermost location and the right front at its innermost location the car will tend to rotate very hard especialy from the center off. It really depends on what type of track you are running on as to where you want the front width and skew set at. I'm sure if you tell us where you are running myself or one of the other HD guys can help get you pointed in the right direction.
