looking to buy a pro 3 but have some ???? 's , - do you get a offset hub with the kit?
-- do you get a offset upper pod plate? --- front axles 1/8 or the larger ones? ---- do you have to do any drilling other than the servo mounts? -----how many T plates and can you use ones from the 700 ( my 700 is great).

1 - Yes you get offset hubs with the kit.
2 - No you don't get the offset top plate.
3 - Drill holes just for the servo mounts.
4 - It uses the symetrical associated style T-plates.The 0700 had this option also.
5 - kit comes with the standard larger front axles.

Murdock RC can set you up with a package that is exactly how you want the car, option wise

Hope this helps.

I just got a new pro 3 slider and had it on the track for the hang over race at classic hobby in akron. I didnt do so well the first time out. couldnt get the car to turn. I assembled it like the book said but changed the front springs to wolf and put a metal T plate in it. I run the bush series so i have to use blue front and green rear spec trc tires.
Do any of you have some general pointers to get me going on the banked oval?

rear pod all the way to the left rear
T plate, metal soft
battery tray, second battery from the front centered on the center shock mount
front springs, wolf regular black on left, bubba black on the right

Sorry aracefan3 been away raining this weekend...... i worked with a buddy this weekend on his at asndhill so i have a few ideas you might want to try...

Gold side springs with 40wt in the shocks.
Hpi center shock #3 piston on 55 weight oil White progressive spring from HPI.
Finishline triangle Spring steel. ( second from stiffest they make)
Purple -rf spring green left front spring

If you are running the HYperdrive castor blocks drop the rf all the way down and the left front third hole from the botton.

center shock 2nd hole from the top

Slide the batteries to where the second cell from the front is even with the front pivot ball on the t-plate.....

try that to start... the we can go from there

with the set ups i have seen i have not seen any position on the front A-arm mounting blocks. 1-2-3-4 position, i have been running flat ozite 113 ft. center, (small) . i have a pro-3, and i'm running it in 4-RF and 1-LF , offset T, offset pod,. is this normal or am i out to lunch. car handles well , but allways looking for some thing better.?

From what i hear if you are running mod it's about the only time to use the offset t-plate.. could be wrong though...

Helms would know the best on that and the locators..... then again heard Barry didn't do so bad on flat track whith his recently in 19trn..... he probably could help as well...

I'm understanding that most are running offset t-plate straight up pod.

I may have read earlier in the thread but I'll ask again just to be sure...

Offset T-plate = the left or the right set of holes looking at the car from the rear????

Raptor_MS

Left holes on chassis are "off-set left", right holes are "center"......

Outta the box the PRO 3 has 6 pod offsetting options. 2 sets of mounting holes in the chassis and three in the lower pod plate. If you look at the car from the rear the farther the pod is to the left the more offset you have. I,ve been running mine in the right chassis holes and all the way offset in the pod.
I,ll try and get a decent pic for you.

Fl Flash
01-15-2006, 10:24 PM
Also you dont need an offset upper pod plate because the side shocks and center shock mounts move left and right.
Oops, you can move the T-plate to a short wheelbase and long wheelbase too.
Did I mention I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Outta the box the PRO 3 has 6 pod offsetting options.

It only has 2 "pod position options"...... Offset or straight up. The third hole (farthest left hole) on the lower plate is for when running offset t-plate and straightup pod. Sounds confusing, but still only 2 pod locations.

LOL , however you look at it it has enough adjustments to keep you trying stuff for awhile LOL!

I've been running mine the same way. Seems to work well but would like to have more weight transfered to the LF in the turns and was pondering that as an option. The RF seems to taking a beating compared to the left (>wear). I also tried the centered pod but it hung the RR waay out there, stuck out of the wheelwell like 1/4".

The car is turning and handling well but always looking for more!!

Raptor_MS

When running straightup pod, you need different hubs.

If you find a way to "transfer" weight to the left front, you let me know :)

You need to talk to Humpty..... he will hook you up on a good basic setup.

I,ve ran mine a few times in the right T-plate position used a rr hub off my Pro2/0700 car to get the rr tire where I wanted it. Pro 3s RR hub is 1.40 and the Pro2/0700 are 1.125 this gives you yet another tuning option, LOL does it ever end LOL

What locator are you running on the RF?

Billy - Running #1 on both sides
Raptor - LOL yea bad choice of words

BigClay

Bad Cell try #2 locators on both sides w/wolfe axles and no shims behind the wheel. Straight up chassis and offset pod.

Billy W
01-16-2006, 01:17 PM
I would try #3's on both sides... then maybe a #4 on the right front..... the further out on the right front seemed to help with my car turnign in and not be so harsh on tire wear.....

on the front mounting blocks - the closer to the center of the chassy (1's) , the faster the car will respond in the turn, ( aggressive, quick, good for a hard turn ) like in running a 1 on both sides or a 2 , Now run a 4 on both sides and you are good for a big sweeping turning track or banked, i have been running a flat track ozite, with about a 6 ft, in field, started with a 1 in the LF and a 4 on RF, this turned will but it pushed ,center off, and if i gave it tweek in the side springs it picked up the LR in the turn, if this sounds like a problem you might have try, a 2on LF and 3 on RF with offset T and center pod, must have standered hub on RR, NOTE the placement of your electronics and led will affect the set up.

Just wanting to know if anyone is using a GTB in a Pro 3. If so, where are you mounting it? The only place I'm finding room for it is right of the t-plate.

I recently picked up a 1/12 scale slider and I see you can use 1/10 t-plates or the 1/12 plates it has on it already. What is needed to convert to 1/10 t-plates.

thanks

jashack79 I'm not sure how Barry decided to sell the car, but I designed three different bottom plates for it. #1 was for a the 1/10 scale t-plate #2 was for the 1/12 scale t-plate #3 was for both 1/10 and 1/12 scale t-plates. The way to tell them apart is #1 and #2 have three holes for the t-plate, and fit there relative 1/10 or 1/12 t-plates. #3 has 4 holes and a slot in the middle. So to answer your question, if you have the bottom plate with 4 holes and slot all you need to do is bolt the 1/10 scale t-plate to it, and maybe move the center shock forward. If you have the bottom plate with only the three holes to fit the 1/12 scale t-plate you need a new bottom plate, and maybe move the center shock forward. Mike V

mike, how does runnuing the rear on pro3 slider offset versus straight effect the car? :freak:

bolognarc
01-20-2006, 11:59 AM
From my experience on a flat Snowbirds replica track offset frees the car up vs straight up. The car will turn in & carry more corner speed offset (stock class) This is on a Pro-3.

ZMain,

Just get your dremmel out and sand a little off the bottom of the left shock mount. They are plenty beefy and can afford a little shave. I just mounted my GTB on my Pro3 slider behind the battery on the left side.
